Hong Kong-based developer Circle Entertainment has announced that Swords & Soldiers 3D, a real-time strategy game, originally developed and released on WiiWare by Romino Games, is coming to the Nintendo 3DS as a downloadable title from the Nintendo eShop.
The game will feature 3D visuals and should launch on the Nintendo eShop by next Spring. A demo and free downloadable content for Swords & Soldiers 3D is being discussed between the two developers.
“We reached out to Ronimo a few months ago. They’re very nice and they’re happy to do a 3DS version of Swords & Soldiers. Circle always wants to take on new projects in different genres, so Swords & Soldiers 3D can be a first step [to making more 3DS titles].”
“We’re still discussing with Ronimo the possibility of offering free DLC and a demo [for Swords & Soldiers 3D] to players. I believe people will be able to see this title in a few months—perhaps next Spring.”
I actually played this in 3D on my PS3. It’s a fun game and the 3D is pretty decent too. Should be a nice addition to the 3DS.
There are an awful lot of 2D-based games for the 3DS now ._.
And?….
An observation.

Woo! Yay ronimo!
Now we just need awesomenauts for wiiu
It’s an okay game. I have it on the original Wii when it was still an exclusive. If you have it for Wii or the HD system; there probably isn’t a need to buy the game. I wish they would have created a brand new sequel specifically for the 3DS instead of a 4 year old port.
I was just about to write “wow, an actual retail game that’s being announced for once”. And then I read the words “downloadable” and “eShop”. Then I was like (- _ -)
Does any companies ever make REAL games that can be purchased in stores anymore? It’s not a real game unless it’s a physical copy.
I beg to differ. Are you trying to say that the entire library of games on platforms like steam aren’t “real” games? A game is a game no matter how it’s distributed.
