It turns out that this claim is incorrect, as Mercury News updated the article with an excerpt saying that Nintendo actually needs to sell more than one Wii U game to make a profit on the new Wii U console.

My version runs SMOOTH. Although there is a small amount of times in the game where the framerate goes disgustingly low , But for the majority of the game it runs about 30-45 FPS.
And the anti aliasing is noticeably sharper on the wiiu version. I can see why people thought the wiiu version was 1080p ….

I’m a huge Nintendo fan but these fanboys are annoying. I actually kinda like the route Nintendo is going though. They’re trying to differentiate themselves from Sony and Microsoft by making unique gaming experiences and I support that. Part of why I support it is that if ever I need a powerful system I have Sony or Microsoft to choose from or I could just upgrade my gaming PC.
The Unique experiences are fine. Just I wish the consoles ha d a bit more power so 3rd parties wouldn’t think twice with putting games on there.

At least now with WiiU the console is at least caught up to the current gen graphics and in my opinion I think this gen graphics will still be good even when Microsoft and Sony’s next gen consoles arrive. Peeps should check out this stream, imo. It’s a 5-day (constant) speedrun marathon for charity (cancer research and prevention). It’s really fun/informative and for a good cause. A lot of the games being run are Nintendo games too, if that changes anything. Trying to spread the word and etc, I’d encourage others to do the same.

I can tell you this I am hoping wi.i u owners do support the company like i plan on doing. I have 3 games on rader wonderful 101, bayonetta, pikmen, lego undercover,qliens and marines my bad I have over 5 as I typed it in I thought of more.

I got my wiiu on 29th of November and played it SO MUCH for about 2 weeks . Didn’t touch my 3ds once… But then I got Paper Mario sticker star and I’ve been playing that a ton.
I like my Wiiu and 3DS both the same , but because the wiiu just came out and I’ve been playing 3DS hardcore since 2011 , I needed a little break….
The 3DS is better than wiiu at the moment because it has better games. but the wiiu will catch up soon…

some places the games are quite exspensive thankfully i had been saveing since 2011 for wiiU i saved enuf money for some games on the day but the rest i got as christmass presants. when more placeses start to sell the games i there sould be a price drop in the games
