Nintendo president Satoru Iwata told viewers of today’s Nintendo Direct presentation that while Smash Bros is a huge undertaking by the company, they intend to show off some screenshots of the game during this years E3 event in June. Iwata asked Nintendo fans to be patient regarding release details and trailers for the game which is due to be released on both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
“Smash Bros is a huge development undertaking and we need more time before it launches. Mr Sakurai told us that we have set the timing for the first screens at this year’s E3. Please wait for just a little longer.”

Wow, that’s actually a really good idea. Of course, I want them to put in every stage from the previous games, but they probably can’t afford to do that… But taking a HUGE poll would be very nice and would ensure everyone is satisfied.

I’m so excited to know what kind of inovation they bring to the table + the new graphics, Brawl surprised me at how much content it had compared to Melee, it had much more options to enjoy the game, even if the combat was a little slower, but I think this new game’s gonna surprise me even more, I have great hopes for Namco Bandai.

Wii U version of Smash Bros will launch in 2014. You forget Namco Bandi is helping make the game. Meaning more jobs can be divided up meaning much faster development time. 3DS Version could be out this holiday season I say. Or 1st half of 2014.

shhut up about the graphics! thats like 1 hour of “ooooow, aaaaaah” then its all up to the playabuility and conection to the player. smash will be great no matter what, but when? i hated brawl at first because i couldn’t get used to the timing and my friends beat the crap out of me the first weeks we had it. then i got to thair level a month later. then a halph year- a year i was wooping thair buts to no end. i beat my friends, thair friends, and even thair friends friends that came to parties… then shizzz got real and i played much less and then we broke our friend ship since we got out of highshool and i berily have any social life becides this and collage…

I’m not a fan of the idea, but anyone think they’re gonna stop the side scrolling gameplay and go full 3D? If they do it more like Soul Calibur and less like that Budokai Tenkaichi thing, it’ll at least be playable.

The funnest fighting game out there is back~
That’s why hopefully in this Smash they should:
1st: Make an online rankings. Everyone loves being ranked and seeing who’s the best players around the world.
2nd: Make a 1v1 option for “With Anyone” matches. 4 mans aren’t really popular nowadays especially considering singles (1v1) is the main event at all Super Smash Bros. tournaments.
3rd: Show tags/Nintendo ID’s. Not much to say, I just like people to know who they got their butts kicked by.
That would be good.
I thin Sakurai got the message that we like the 4 player madness but theres a deep 1 v 1 game here too, i mean it got used at EVO, thats proof of its core gameplay.
But yeah, i’ve been impressed with Nintendo’s online as of recently, i havent had any problems with it on my 3DS.
I hope they will have DLC in the future.

But you have to remember any DLC character or stage they add is one lost for the next game, and not everyone would be able to get the DLC stuff, Sakurai’s always been about making a game perfect, i think DLC would just be made irrelevant in his views, he’d make it so there wasnt a need for it.
why would DLC characters be lost? That would mean the characters have a better chance at being in the next one. DLC will have the game have more content then it already advertised. That’s how nintendo sees DLC as, things that add to a already full game. overall it’d just enhance the replay value more to keep it fresh and new

I wish nintendo has this huge of a precence at E3, great announcements, and just pure win with their Ninty Directs, but E3’s have been a let down for a while now.

im hoping this game kinda looks like the new wind waker wiiu game in terms of how its rendered. I do not mean in terms of art direction or character design. But more in terms of lighting and Anti Aliasing….that game has an almost pixar-esque quality to it….kinda like the cut scenes in brawl which from what i could tell used in game models, but just rendered beautifully.
If this game doesnt come out in 2014 I will be crying. Nintendo please finish already!

It’s just that EVERYONE AND THEIR BROTHER uses that precise set-up.
They’re ignoring 99% of the fun content by trying to make Smash play as close to a normal fighting game as they can.
In a non-tournament setting.
I don’t agree with taking stock out or forcing items on all the time, but at the same time, I wish players of the series would get their heads out of the mind-set of other fighting games and learn to enjoy Smash’s unique traits during online battles.
It isn’t like online is one massive Street Fighter tournament or something. Smash players shouldn’t treat it as such all the time.
It’s about making the game as fair as possible while having fun. Nobody enjoys losing to someone because of some handicap that allows a playable to make DRASTIC comebacks without doing any kind of work. (The Smash Ball & Fan are the first two to come to mind)
It’s not about making Smash closer to a traditional fighting game. Now with that said I personally enjoy playing with items from time to time for randomness.
The Fan is such a silly weapon you gotta love it. Its basically just for trolling. And the Smash Ball is a great idea. But some were OP. Like Sonics.
Yeah, I used Sonic and my brothers raged when I got the Smash Ball. But some of them were just bad, ie. Peach, Pikachu, Mr Game & Watch, R.O.B. And all the clones shared their Smash Ball (Fox, Falco, Wolf; Link, Toon Link, etc.).
I’m of the opinion that so long as said fan and smash ball are available to both leading players and losing players, the possibility of them being unfair, doesn’t exist.
Final smashes are avoidable, btw, so they guarantee nothing unless used at the proper moment.
I’m a firm believer in the statement that, in a game like this, random occurrences are universally fair, since luck never takes sides.
And in a game like Smash, unless one is taking winning so seriously that it ruins their fun to lose a match to a small instant of bad luck, luck isn’t a negative.
It only adds to the fun.
To the players[not specifically you, MGW, but just in general] who deem items, and other set-ups that are not reminiscent of traditional fighters, as “unfair” or “cheap”, who scorn them and turn their nose up at players who use said things, I now quote a famously devious clown to voice a very important question:
“Why so serious?”
You have to remember that items in Super Smash Bros. are spawned at random times & at random places. That means completely randomized items (which if you’re atleast decent at smash are not hard AT ALL to use) can give a random advantage or disadvantage to either the person losing or winning. Random occurences are not universally fair in any fighting game lmao, that’s outside interference. This isn’t Mario Kart.
Now the second part is completely up to the person. You may not take the game serious at all, that’s why you pretty much don’t care about random luck. But understand people who work hard, or people who actually put work in to get good care if they are losing to some random crap that’s clearly overpowered and require little to no skill to use successfully. I understand where you coming from don’t get me wrong, that’s a justified feeling if it’s a game you’re not into competitively. Go practice really hard at brawl for months, go to a tournament then lose because you went to attack and a random bomb-omb appeared in front of you lol.
With allll that said, I believe people should take the time to appreciate different aspects of the game. :) People will enjoy playing the game different types of ways, that’s why the different ways are there! 3 stock & no items just happens to be the most favored way because it’s the most fair right now. How “seriously” you take the game is up to each individual.

Come on now. Only reason to get the Xbox 720 would be for Halo 5 and 6. If Halo 5 isnt a launch title I will be a -100% chance of getting the Xbox 720 at launch. 343 has crippled Halo except for the Campaign. And that Kinect 2.0 bullshit….yah people will just love to have that after how well the Kinect 1.0 went. Halo 5 “Now you are Master Chief” say “Granade” to throw a grenade…pff
PS4 though…well im already at a – Infinity chance of getting that.

What I personally wanna see in SSB4:
-Star Fox character(s)’s Smash Ball is an Arwing (if there’s still a clone character, one’s a tank, one’s an Arwing)
-Ghirahim (playable)
-Demise (as a boss?)
-Professor Layton
-Shulk
-Only one or two clones, if any at all
-New/balanced Smash Balls; clones don’t have the same Smash Ball anymore
-Pokéballs are less focused on Gen IV and have a balance of the five generations with better choices (getting Gardevoir, Munchlax, and Meowth all the time was extremely disappointing)
-Better Stage Customization
-Wii U touchscreen integrated into the gameplay somehow/sometimes/if you want to xD
Well, if this means a trailer (and I suspect it will, Nintendo don’t usually just show screenshots of a game at E3), then Nintendo’s practically won it before it’s even begun. Especially now that a 3D Mario, Mario Kart and likely a Zelda game will also be shown there.
Screens doesn’t automatically screenshots. I’ve heard the term screens refer to showings or video before.
I hope that there will be screens for the 3DS version as well, I’m actually anticipating that one more, considering it will probably come out first, and hey, Smash Bros. anywhere!
I am looking forward to the next Super Smash Bros. I spent a lot of time in Brawl and I am looking forward for the next one. I do hope they fix the online lag. That’s my big concern.
