Wii U Exclusives Still Absent From UK Top Forty

wii_u_consoles_colours

Wii U exclusive games continue to be noticeably absent from the UK top forty all-formats charts. The Nintendo 3DS doesn’t appear to be faring too badly though with Paper Mario: Sticker Star clinging onto number twenty-three. The best-selling game this week in the United Kingdom is Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 which has taken the number one spot away from Capcom’s DmC reboot. You can see the entire top forty all-formats chart right here.

        1. yeah why not we are swaping prince and you wil see if you are not going to moan (morron) . if you are a bloody Canadian it’s the same thing as being a bloody yank. At the end, you are just an ignorant pig who does not jack about Europe. Tabernac!!!!!

    1. Apart from the fact the UK is one of the richest countries in the World per person , yeh lol.

Wiiu games will be a permanent fixture in the charts by holiday season this year. People still playing Wii , PS3 and 360. Wiiu has a tiny installed base right now , but that will change and NSMBU and Nintendo land will climb up into the charts.

        1. LOL , Austria is definitely not richer than UK. UK and Germany are the richest European countries. UK has the strongest currencey and Germany is the richest using the Euro

          1. UK is NOT the richest currency in the world and does not have the strongest currency. Luxembourg (<— Richest Country) and many other countries beat the UK. Heck, Australia has been rated richer than the UK.

            1. You’re telling me the Australian Economy is worth more than the UK’s ? try again lol.

And luxembourg is fucking tiny , it’s like a small city.

If we are speaking Wealth per person then sure small Scandinavia countries and countries like Switzerland are very rich.

But I think you will find the UK is quite a rich country with a very strong currency.

So? Which one is it? Btw, I’d rather have Australia’s economy, why? If Europe goes down (Which it will will) UK will follow it, unless China and India goes down, Australia is fine :)

                1. Nah , Why do you think Britain insists on staying independant of the Euro Zone ?

Australia is a wealthy country per person . Ah fuck it , I care not about politics , all I know is Britain has a higher standard of life than most countries i’ve been on holiday to… lol

              2. I checked a list of 15 richest countries per capita and here are the results. At first and second are Qatar annd Luxembourg, each with a capita of $88,222 and $81,644 respectively. At 11 (or I think it was 11) was Australia at $39,764. The thing is that the UK wasn’t even on there. Just so you guys know.

                1. What ever trevor. The UK economy is worth more than 10 trillion. And soho is the most expensive place on earth and the pound is one of the strongest currencies

            2. You’re telling me the Australian Economy is worth more than the UK’s ? try again lol.

But I think you will find the UK is quite a rich country with a very strong currency.

Soho is the most expensive place on earth to buy a house on average.

              1. Well, our currency is stronger, that is 100% fact. Seems I was looking at 2011 stats for world economies in which you guys were ranked 22nd, I think you’re higher than that now.

                1. The Australian dollar is on par with the american dollar. Which are both worth much less than the Pound. Am I wrong ? Everything is over priced in Australia , I know that much.

    2. yes indeed, after that article that says the favourite publishers in the uk were EA and activision, the UK has declared itself a really lame market.

      1. So what are the favorite publishers in America then ? EA and activision ?
Nintendo was 3rd or 4th in the UK which is very positive.

        1. i don’t know, i don’t live there and have never seen any articles about it anyway (not that i look for them anyway)

          1. So just because they are the top publishers in one country, you assume they aren’t in the majority of others, too? That’s like saying just because COD is at the top of the UK charts, you instantly assume only the UK plays COD games. If you look at your own region’s charts or articles, you’ll find the same things. Please don’t be so ignorant and assume things don’t apply to your own country.

            1. Calm down buddy i said they’re a lame market, that in no way means every player plays cod. What i’m saying is if a majority of gamers buy those games (cod games) over and over they make the market something pretty lame (or a market that buys very few different games thus making it pretty lame for different publishers). Maybe the one in my region is as lame or even lamer but why would that matter, i’m just saying the UK is a lame market because the news is about the UK.

    1. That’s sad man, here I thought living there would be cool. Guess I’ll stay here playing good old Ninty with my friends.

      1. The general gamer in America plays CoD and Halo too lol. There is a lot of kids 12-18 who play CoD , Fifa , Halo and that’s it . But there is ofcourse Hardcore Nintendo gamers and Gamers who buy good games for their ps3 and 360 too.

Let’s not Generalize entire nations into the same annoying gamer.

            1. The UK and USA are both very similar in games taste. Both like FPS’s , Sports games and Sing and dance games. Both have a good amount of Hardcore Nintendo users , etc etc etc.

UK and USA have very similar taste in gaming which are both very different from Japan.

              1. I live in the UK but don’t get me wrong, its great to have the odd game of fifa and cod with my mates, but its sad to see the charts being over took by the likes of these games. Its cause theres so much little kids who is spoilt by parents.

                1. I live in Manchester too , All the kids are buying MS points so they can buy fifa ultimate team cards….. so sad *facepalm*

              2. I’m in the UK and all everyone plays here is COD and Fifa and Minecraft. I have played Minecraft and enjoyed it, but not Fifa and Cod. Do you think cod and fifa are worth buying?

                1. Depends on your tastes. FIFA 13 is most definitely the best football simulation around on consoles right now, so if you’re looking for a game that emulates the sport as closely as possible, or have mates for good multiplayer sessions, go for it. I don’t play COD, and varying people will tell you which is better – Black Ops 2 or Modern Warfare 3. But BO2 is definitely a highly-rated FPS, so again, if you fancy a FPS, go for it.

                2. I have Blops 2 and Fifa 13 , oh the irony LOL. They’re good games. It’s sad however to see everyone JUST BUYING those games and neglecting games like Borderlands , Xcom , Xenoblade chronicles , etc etc etc.

                  1. Yeah that is my problem. I am not going to doubt the quality of fifa or cod but THOSE ARE THE ONLY GAMES THEY TALK ABOUT. And Nintedward, about your other point about ms points for players on fifa, that doesn’t annoy me as much. The only game they keep talking about which doesn’t annoy me is Minecraft only because I love that game ^.^

                3. I have Blops 2 and Fifa 13 , oh the irony LOL. They’re good games. It’s sad however to see everyone JUST BUYING those games and neglecting games like Borderlands , Xcom , Xenoblade chronicles , etc etc etc.

                    1. Borderlands 2 is incredible , no doubt. An excellent loot , FPS. It’s much much better to play it coop all the way through.

                    2. Borderlands 2 is an amazing game, part of the reason i’m excited about Aliens: Colonial Marines. In the hands of gearbox, it’ll hopefully be something special.

              3. dude (like you that in US), we have different taste. Don’t get me wrong there are lot of kid playing COD…. hold in USA you don’t play Fifa.. it’s a football game .. sorry for the yank, Fifa is a soccer game. in UK and USA we have different taste for game.

                1. UK and USA have very very similar tastes in gaming. Fact. Almost idntical give or take a few games. Japan is the one with the radically different taste in games.

        1. You don’t consider Halo a good game? Why not? Its one of the best game series ever made. Just because it is popular doesn’t mean its bad. And just because YOU don’t like it doesn’t mean its bad. It happens to be one of the bbest FPS games ever created with beautiful art, music, and story. It is miles ahead in quality above mmost FPS games., and a lot of other games in general. Oh I get it, its an FPS and people just like to hate on whatever is popular.

            1. You listed halo in hour list and said ” there are of course harcore gamers who buy good games for their ps3 and 360 too” it seemed as though you said it as if those games weren’t good.

              1. No just saying they’re obvious , commercial games.
Other games deserve more attention than what they get is my point.

                  1. I love Halo. It’s the same with Mario , in paticular NSMB. Everybody sticking their dick in the same games butt kinda gets boring. Especially when innovative games like Kid icarus and such don’t get the attention they deserve.

              1. I read it properly he stated games that are popular and said that of course real hardcore gamers by good games for their ps3 360s hey maybe I am misunderstanding, but I read the comment, sorry for any confusion.

                  1. Also sorry for freaking out. Its just that Halo is my favorite game series ever and the nostaligia from it has me acting like a fanboy XD

        1. Still ignorant. A “Brit” isn’t just an English person. Three countries make up Great Britain, and four make up the UK.

          1. Why do you go around, all mad, calling people ignorant because they dont know everything about your country. Knowing what makes up Great Britain is more than trivial knowledge and the lack of said knowledge definitely doesnt call for the kind of hateful response you gave him. Especially since he was trying to be friendly after you misunderstood his attempt at parody.

              1. You sounded belittling in my opinion. Ignorant definitely sounds like a derogative term to talk about one’s lack of knowledge. Also just correcting him without calling him out on his “ignorance” would have been more friendly :)

                1. Point taken. If I came across that way it’s more because I get increasingly frustrated for the assumptions and stereotypes people make. Sometimes hard to keep cool very single time.

                  1. I can do nothing but agree with you here ^^ don’t take it on yourself to make everyone understand though it’s sadly impossible

  1. Still not surprising, its early days, even i dont have one.
But all i did way show my mate the Xenoblade 2 trailer and now he wants one, so wont take much, people just dont have money

  2. How the hell do you expect it to shoot in the top 40 when nothing new has been released yet. Can’t expect it to shoot up every week if nothing is coming out. They know it is having a bad time and they intend on fixing it! PATIENCE!

    1. You know this is a games chart, right? Why shouldn’t a Wii U game be in the top 40? And actually, new games for Wii U did come out last week, and none of them charted.

  3. I don’t live in the UK, but people I know that do live there and YouTube gamers from the UK I occasionally watch mostly play Call of Duty, Halo, FIFA and Minecraft. I’m not surprised.

    1. Again, this isn’t JUST the majority of UK gamers. Go take a look at your own region’s charts. I’m sure you’ll see Halo, COD, Madden and FIFA charting highly.

  4. This just in… Julius Caesar is still dead. Talk about your needless news story. If the system isn’t selling particularly well there, I highly doubt the games will either.

    1. Not really pointless. Some people are interested in how the system and its games are performing on a weekly basis. It brings up the problem of the system’s low sales and the need to turn things up in the future.

      1. The “news” would be that some of the titles HAVE cracked the top forty. Until they do, we already know this – pointless.

        1. Fair enough if you’re expecting something different on the Wii U side in the charts for it to be classed as “news.” But providing weekly updates of the latest charts is still appealing to many, whether anything has changed or not.

          1. Then you should be ecstatic to know that their sales are the same as last week, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before that…

  5. With everyone saying that the majority of people only play FIFA and CoD I agree.
Unless its a game such as Mario Kart or a game that a lot of people played when they were younger like Pokemon then it’s either babyish or weird. Weird is usually said when you play a Japanese game with a girl or woman on in such as Dead or Alive, Bayonetta or Senran Kagura even though none of those games have been released outside of Japan and apart from one of my friends at school I think no one else knows what Senran Kagura is.
Another thing the other day one of my brother’s friends came into the bedroom and saw me playing Metal Gear Solid 2 and he didn’t even no what that was, I was surprised by a lot.
Also on a note I have never bought a FIFA, CoD or Halo game, though my brother has.
