Animal Crossing: New Leaf has once again reclaimed the top spot in the Japanese charts, pushing Capcom’s well-received Devil May Cry reboot into second place. The Nintendo 3DS continues to be the best-selling platform in Japan, shifting a respectable 75,124 units. However, it would appear as though the Wii U is struggling in Japan. Nintendo’s latest home console only just managed to outsell the PlayStation Portable, shifting a fairly low 13,746 units. Here’s the Japanese hardware and software charts.

Although they said they wouldn’t make the same misstake as the 3DS launch…somehow it is just that…

Until some of the larger games are released, it seems that most people who want a Wii U already have one. There are some great games on the horizon, but they aren’t out yet
same song and dance wii u will be fine 3ds wasn’t doing so hot either when it hit now look at it vita is the system people should be worried about when a company ask for your help to sell it i rest my case
So, even Japan has no hardcore MUST HAVE games on the Wii U either? Makes me think that Nintendo released the Wii U a year too early. They should have at LEAST waited until Pikmin 3 came out.

How will xBox and Sony sell there super HD next gens?
This is exactly what I see…worldwide economies where people don’t have the money at the moment to be dropping on brand new systems(which is particularly why I think sales of last gen’s systems was so high, because they are pretty reasonably priced). The christmas season just ended, people are mostly broke(at least in the states), but as taxes and games start rolling in(it does look like they lined up all the big games of Q1 to fall at tax time) I think sales will start picking up. But I also wonder how Microsoft and Sony will do any better than this(as I don’t see it as likely they will sell their consoles at the same price point, most likely higher)…time will tell…
Im taking this with a grain of salt because they have done little to no marketing. They will go full force this holiday season mark my words.
Just wait till the 2013 games get released. Sales will pick up. Wii U looks like 3DS launch. Few games that people want.

Obviously, the Wii U needs some more good games and a system selling game. Wii U Sports. Wind Waker HD will sell some. I think a Super Mario HD Collection with completely upgraded graphics for Super Mario Bros 1-3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Sunshine would be a system seller.
I’m scared the Wii U’s falling into the path of the 3DS, meaning…immediate price cut come Summer, reimbursement to the people who bought within the year in the form of the 30-cent games they’re selling over time, and rabid fans of Wii U and trolls of Sony and Microsoft to flood the airwaves of sweet nothingness.
Oh I do hope so… I love my ambassador status… I think there is no way I would have tried fire emblem if it wasn’t for the ambassador status… and now it is one of my most beloved games…
