    1. Video games are even inspired by Nintendo references. If Nintendo have never made the nes we would have never got 80% of the games we have today.

          1. Well, according to Wikipedia, the very first platform game is “Space Panic” (1980), although the character was not able to jump. The first Nintendo platform game is Donkey Kong (1981), in which Mario was able to jump; for this reason, some consider it the real first platform game ever launched. So, you were wrong, and so was I. :)

            1. Well, I was half right as Nintendo didn’t make the first platformer :P

But I do admit lots of games are inspired from the big N. Darksiders was inspired from zelda I think.

              1. Indeed. I’d say that Nintendo and video game history mingle. It is impossible to talk about one without citing the other. See the NES D-pad; it was such a nice idea.

By the way, I did not know about the Darksiders issue. Cool.

            2. Jumping is a pretty vital part of platforming though… It’s like saying a first person game with no guns is a FPS.

Then again, I once saw someone in the industry claim Pitfall was a sidescroller, so it goes to show how far people can stretch things.

              1. Yeah… Categorization is a hard task… What makes a sidescroller different from a platform game? Or are both terms interchangeable? Etc, etc, etc.

    1. I love indie games. They tend to be a little more unique to me. They need that extra bit of love stitched into them so they get noticed. The big companies just don’t provide that anymore :(

    1. Try Runner 2. Got me right back into 2D platformers. I am honestly obsessed with the game. And I haven’t been able to say that I’m obsessed with a game for far too long!

  1. This seems to be a bit inspired by Super Mario Bros. & it looks like fun in a good ol’ fashion Retro way. :P I’m definetly considering to buy it when it’s released. (:

        1. Graphics have their time and place, let’s tell the truth. But, indeed, there is no correlation between graphics and fun at all. I’m really fond of old school games. Missing my SNES… I think it’s broken forever… :(

  2. The Wii U is getting a lot of indie love and I hope they make a Wii U version of Slender. Never played it, but i’ve seen videos and it looks cool. Obviously it has to have a good price since it’s such a small game (unless they expanded it or something).

    1. Slender is SO scary!! I don’t know which is scarier. ZombiU or Slender. Better not get either just to be safe :P I’d love to see it come to the Wii U though. I’m sure a lot of people would be happy about that!

    1. Kaleb Taylor, its a start, granted that not all indie games suck, i bought some of the indie games by seeing the vids to see what the game is all about. im not one of those people who think only FPS and God of Wars is all the rave, i enjoy other games like rpg, indies and the like, just like alphaomegasin

  3. I played the Beta of this game, its fun. I mean, its still in progress and theres no music, but looks like a fun game. everytime you die, the whole stage changes, thats what I liked about it.

      1. It’s hard to guess playing the beta, but it’s really interesting. You know what would be cool? Mario using this! Haunted Houses randomly generated: MADNESS! lol

So only one guy makes up the developer? .__.

  5. The game actually looks really good! Killer spiders, giant sharks, flame throwers! I think I might look into this game a little more lol!
