Rachel Is A Playable Character In Resident Evil Revelations, Plus Wii U Details

Capcom has confirmed that Rachel, who made her debut in the 3DS release of Resident Evil Revelations, will be joining Hunk as a brand new playable character in Raid Mode. PAX EAST attendees this week will also be able to play as both new characters for the first time on the Capcom booth #948.

Resident Evil Revelations features two brand new enemies, including the Wall Blister and a surprise new creature that appears in Raid Mode once players have reached a certain level.

Wii U players will be able to face the fear on-board using three different play styles. Play with the TV and access your map and weapons on the GamePad or switch the GamePad out for a Wii U pro controller. Alternatively transfer all the horror just to the GamePad as the title utilizes Off TV play.

Wii U players will get further exclusives through the Miiverse feature. Players can post a dying message from the Game Over screen for other players around the world to see and you can taunt your friends with the ‘Creatures Voice’ function, allowing enemies in Raid Mode to have their thoughts personalised.

Resident Evil Revelations will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U across North America on May 21 and Europe on May 24.

  1. Off TV play? Upgraded resolution? Additional characters for Raid mode?

Hmm. Seems Capcom will be getting a little more of my money.

    1. I know right ? I kinda getting a little bit excited for this game now even though I have it on my 3DS right here and now , I will happily play it again on wiiu , Raid mode coop will be awesome with HD graphics and voice chat on wiiu.

  2. I guess am buying this to,will be playing gamepad interaction with tv as that’s the way I love it.Better get saving as I can see few games been released in the near future that I definitely want from day one.

          1. Alice Madness Returns. Its basically a fucked up, yet believable version of Alice in Wonderland.
Its pretty great, as far as art style, its insane, but combat could be better, but i aint hating on it.

                1. Was the £5 to £10 price range you mentioned for this game during a discount period? Alice: Madness Returns is showing a price of £19.99 in the UK PlayStation Store.

  3. This exploit of women in games must stop!

Enough with the big tits, low amount of tight clothes and other sexual nonsense!

How about making realistic characters depending on what the game is about…

Like Michelle Rodrigez was in both Resident Evil movies she was on, bad ass women that looks great without bei g seen as an sexual object or whore…

It’s bad enough that women have to be seen like that in movies!

    1. Maybe take it to the japs?

But seriously, only ones that get butthurt for this are gays and butt ugly women.

      1. The new Lara croft’s body is so much more realistic than before. At least she doesn’t have an incredibly thin body with extreme hips like previously. You can even change her clothes in the game if you don’t like them (which they’re not even that bad, you only see the top of her boobs if you have the camera adjusted in a certain angle)

    2. im sorry but did you really reference the resident evil movies? every single resident evil movie is absolute garbage and referencing them at all loses you any credibility whatsoever.

    3. I totally agree with you. Guys who say otherwise are either teenagers or sexually insecure. Horny monkeys are far from a real men in my book, and it really makes me to facepalm when one say to another “oh you gay”. Sexism is often mentioned, but men make a lot of social pressure against each other too, which is kind of ridiculous.

      1. When we stop objectifying, 99% of games will be starred by:
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stick_figure

But then we will have whole lot of more bitching about the rights and feelings of stickmen/women.

What you commonly forget, that sexism and objectification works both ways,
but there just this very vocal minority who gets stick up their ass when its about women.

It is retarded to think that games or movies objectify or are sexist against women or men as a whole.

  4. I didn’t finish it on the 3DS and traded it in long ago and regretted it.
I’ll give a proper chance on the Wii U version.

I hope they use the Gamepad as part of the Scaner they use in the game, I have not read anything about that anywhere, it would be a huge missed opurtunity if the don’t use it like that.

  5. Even though I have this for my 3ds, after hearing this latest info, definitely thinking about purchasing this for my Wii U!

    1. I hate comments like this. Why do people just ASSUME that Nintendo’s going to censor an M-rated game? The game was originally on the 3DS and it had all the blood, gore, and violence that you’d see on any console.

  7. I loved Revelations on my 3DS but I don’t know if I’m willing to fork over an additional $60 to play essentially the same game. I might get this if it comes down to like $20 but even then I don’t know…..it does look good however with all of the new features. I guess if you don’t have it on 3DS, definitely pick it up on a console.

  8. It still confuses me as to why Rachel wasn’t a playable character in the 3DS version of the game. Hell, some of the earliest footage we saw of the game actually HAD Rachel being playable.
