Ubisoft Releases ZombiU Patch To Fix Game-Breaking Glitch

zombiu

Ubisoft has announced that it has released a patch for the well-received ZombiU. The patch fixes a number of issues that have plagued the game since it launched alongside Wii U on November 18th. The main problem that the patch addresses is the issue where players are unable to progress through a nursery section because a door couldn’t be opened if they had followed specific steps. Here’s the rest of the fixes the patch addresses:

  • On Mission 12, in the Nursery MAP, the interaction with the door in the basement of nursery was missing at rebirth if specific steps were followed.
  • On Mission 13, in the Gas Station MAP, a Mission object that is mandatory to complete the objective was missing if specific steps were followed.
  • On Mission 14, in the Circus MAP, if the player died right after recovering his Backpack, and rebooted the Wii U console, the objective was not updated.
  • On Mission 15, in the Bunker MAP, the Panacea disappeared after the Player died while downloading it. However the objective remained the same (download Panacea).
  • On Mission 10, in the Tower MAP, the Objective “Secure landing site” was not validated if specific steps were followed.
  • On Mission 15, in the Bunker MAP, if specific steps were followed, the Player might get stuck in the Bunker after he took Doctor’s eye / Panacea because a Ladder disappeared.
  • On Mission 16, in the MAP Safe House, the iron curtain in the Safe House lacked of collision during Mission 16. This Bug could lead to a scoring exploit on leaderboards.
  • In the Safe House MAP, the Player saw a placeholder text when he dragged & dropped an item from the Blue Box to his holsters following certain steps.
  • On Mission 12 or 15, in the Nursery MAP, the game crashed if the Player burned the Zombi Nurse while she died.
  • Zombies animations transitions.
  • Online messages spawned in the first section of the MAPs.
  • Scanner’s start volume.
  • Uplay cricket bat Cast Shadow has been removed.
  • Optimizations of the framerate”

      1. me too because i heard even if its a cool concept and has some cool ideas, ubisoft just shit this game out off there ass and shrink wrapped it, so if they made a sequel, they probably would make it better than wak a mole with zombies, they could make a really good game with this if they made a sequel

    1. I never had this problem on the nursery section. I´ve found a number of minor glitches but none of them prevented me to continue the game. ZombiU was a nice idea and I sincerely hope they come with a sequel, maybe setting it in a different city, like Tokyo or N.Y.

    1. Same. What pissed me off was in the last section (escaping from the palace) I died , went back to safe house and struggled to get back into the palace and out of it again as certain areas were all locked and shit. It was frustrating but I got there in the end. Great game.

    2. And they didn’t mention the weirdest glitch I experimented: I blew up one of those explosive zombies accidentally and my backpack disappeared!!!!! It simply vanished. I couldn’t access it on my gamepad, and when I was obviously killed by other incoming zombies and went back to the place where I was killed to get it, my former character didn’t have it!!!! I was forced to start all over!!!! This was the third time the game glitched on me. After that I gave up on it, waiting for this patch. Now I’ll start playing again.

      1. Wow… that was kind of strange. What I noticed is that when you die in an explosion, if you´re next to the exploded thing, your character simply vanishes with everything he could had in his backpack. That is to say, your character will only appear again if you lose it by being infected, but if it hit by a very close explosion the body is just scattered to pieces and bye bye body and b.o.b.

    1. Or if it were on other consoles then everybody would have purchased it. Best zombie game released in a long time. Bill, why don’t you man up and get it? Are you not manly enough? Lol. Ya Dumb shit.

  1. I just got this game and I love it very much….. i can’t wait to beat it………. my x360 not getting no more play time even tho i have tomb raider, bioshock infinite and naruto ninja storm 3.

    1. You my friend took the words right out of my mind. The Capconians have showed them just how successful one is when a complete 1000% game is released on a nintendo home console. Monster hunter 3 Ultimate has moved consoles in the UK :).

      1. Agreed, and even better MH3U is not even a 100% original game by now…

I just hope the Capconians don’t drive themselves to the bottom again…

And we seriously need a Resident Evil Reboot by all means necessary…

  2. “Well received, Zomie U.”

Ubisoft needs to take a leaf from how we gamers received their ZombiU. Had they released Rayman it would have got mega sales. All things work for the good. Due to their mishap, we are getting all their third party releases.

  3. I died on the exactly spot where you can’t die, after retrieving the panacea, and I still was able to finish the game, I was really lucky, but I had to take a loooong route on the map, because one of the doors were blocked.

I liked zombiU a lot. It has lots a glitches and the graphics are kinda lame, but the game’s concept and gameplay made me keep playing it for a long time. It uses the gamepad really well too.

    1. Yeah, it’s rated a 77 on metacritic and that is the average of about 70 reviewers. I’d say that is well received.

    2. Hey neutron where is Sean? Metacritic score for ZombiU is 77 with all the glitches it has. With the fix, I give it a beautiful 87. Manly smacking you right in the face and you don’t even see it. It’s called nintendo on the rise :).

  4. This is a beautiful thing. Nintendo and the year of Luigi starting off with a rocketship launch. The Wii U selling well again in the UK. Monster hunter 3 Ultimate, need for speed most wanted PC all DLC edition, and Lego city undercover all doing well and playing crisp!

    1. Where is everyone getting this idea that it selling well over here again? Someone above said it was thanks to Monster Hunter. Pretty sure its still selling badly.

  6. The glitch that made me sell the game was not listed here. Friggin’ lame. I was considering repurchasing (used) once this was released, but now fug’ it.

  7. Okay, we who bought this at launch have actually made some QA testing for Ubi. Now thier game is completed and ready for sale. So how are they to reward us who helped them in the process? Maybe release DLC, free for gamers who registered the game before the patch, with a new mission and map, please!
