Super Mario AR Card Set Announced

super mario ARAfter Chotto Nintendo Direct announced yesterday their upcoming releases for the eShop on Nintendo 3DS, Super Mario fans will also get to feast their eyes on prepaid Augmented Reality card sets featuring characters from the franchise. The prepaid cards are set for release in Japan on April 23, but there has been no confirmation if they will be launched in Europe or North America.

The software entitled “Isshoni Photo”, directly translated as “take a picture together” will be available to download for free on the 3DS via access from a special QR code on the packaging. It will allow the player to interact with the characters, moving them to different locations to take pictures, as well as enabling the creation of classic in-game animations. Currently, there are three cards available from launch including Goomba, Mario and Princess Peach – ranging in price from 1,000 to 3,000 yen. Three other characters have also been confirmed, which include Koopa Troopa, Luigi and Bowser – again, all at similar prices – but Nintendo have yet to announce the official date.

    1. THERE ONLY NEEDS TO BE 1 NINTENDO DIRECT WHICH GIVES OUT INFORMATION ABOUT EVERYTHING !!

      Damn you don’t know anything….. :/

  1. It’ll sell, but it’s kinda pointless.

Also, I’m still waiting for the Nintendo Direct giving release dates for Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Wii Fit U, and Game and Wario, as well as more info. on the system updates, Wii U virtual console, and Miiverse on 3DS/smartphones.

  2. Thank you nintendo France, Germany, even the UK plus the whole Europe for Buying MH3 Ultimate and Wii Us in abundance :).

    1. I agree young padiwan. Why forces in Europe have crushed the Sony Units and Xboxs.

Nintendo! Sony! Microsoft! This is my life. I am a social reject (and your alt) so I pretend of be a general of a fictitious army on the Internet. I need mental treatment.

    2. Your on the wrong article… Again. Are you mentally ill or are you just acting like this for attention?

  3. Only Nintendo is good anyone who doesn’t love Nintendo deserves to be blasted off this beautiful planet known as Nintendo Realm.

  4. I was wondering what they would do with the AR cards in the future. Guess they are going back to their original ideas.

PS : I am not nintendo commander.

      1. It Really comes with Princess Peach?!!!! Now I can finally have the girlfriend I’ve always wanted this is amazing!

  5. AR cards have so much potential. What if, let’s say in the near future, companies decide to utilize the AR card technology and incorporate them into their games like they do with figures for game such as Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure. The innovative figures allowed interactivity between inanimate objects and the digital world. Would it simply be possible to make AR card characters battle? I mean, what if, somehow Nintendo figures out a way to incorporate some sort of technology in which the player can use the buttons on the 3DS to make a character do specific actions? This may be farfetched, but who ever said it wasn’t possible? If 3D is possible now, who know’s what’s next.

  6. The AR cards are mainly just for kids in my opinion. The novelty wore off SO fast with that feature.

  7. Cool. Hey guys remember that there was a giant Nintendo direct in April last year about xenoblade, and Mario tennis and other stuff? Maybe will get a big Nintendo direct this month that gives us info on VC, release dates and system and miiverse updates, with maybe the localization of some games.

    1. hey remember metal gear, resident evil and yoshi were all on the debug miiverse screen thing, and 2/3 of them were so far right, so calm down will ya. And yes, MGSV looks epic.

      1. Ok?
I don’t care if MGS5 is on the WiiU, i want a WiiU for Nintendo games, not a 3DS game, another unchallenging game, and a game i can get on any system.
