Last night, Nintendo announced that, unlike previous years, it will not be hosting a traditional press conference at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). However, Nintendo will still be a part of the upcoming expo, in which it plans to hold smaller events and showcase its new video games. To avoid confusion, via its official Twitter account, E3 confirmed that Nintendo will indeed be at E3 2013.

The design and colour scheme aren’t bad overall. But there are a few problems that need sorting out.
1) The header has nothing to do with Nintendo what so ever. Random orange circles? Why? Just looks like part of a website template that you’re supposed to change when using it.
2) Comment system needs to be clearer. The smaller indentations indicating replies make it hard to tell whats a reply and what isn’t, mainly when there are tons of replies it makes it hard to tell when you’re scrolling, when you’ve started reading a new comment.
3) The titles for the articles are ridiculously huge. Some taking upto 4 or 5 lines for the article title. Thats just stupid and bad design. 2 Lines for the title maximum.
Apart from that, it looks nice enough. Hardly a step forward, more just step to the side.

See, I couldn’t even tell initially that this comment and the ones above were replies to me. The indentations are just so small.
Still, Alba’s seen that its an issue. So I’m sure they’ll make some amends to the design, to make it easier to read.
The new design does give the site its own feel though. The old design was as “standard template” as it could possibly be. This new design just needs a few tweaks.
I agree with every point he made, especially the reply one. It gets hard to tell what is a reply and what isn’t sometimes, so I just don’t comment.

Will they have the smaller presentations like they did for 3DS last year ? if Nintendo isn’t doing the BIG presentation then what else are they doing ? Showing games to the press is no good for us Loyal watchers of E3.

Read up on Iwata’s statement, there will be smaller more focused game presentations rather than a large hectic one filled with both game announcements and financial analysis (for the developers)

Nintendo never said they weren’t attending E3. Clearly says so in their financial report. People are just jumping to conclusions without reading.

I don’t think people get it by now. People rather buy cheap console for games. Only the true gamers will get all the console or at least two of them to get all the exclusives. That is why Steam is doing so well because people just buy cheap games on their computer and also you can get cross platforms (Windows, iMac, and Linux) supports as well. I am glad that Sony doing the same thing for Vita and PS3. Maybe Nintendo will do the same in the future.
