Capcom To Focus On Promoting Monster Hunter 4 Globally

Monster-Hunter-4

Capcom’s financial results for the past quarter have come in today, showing that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate had tremendous global success. As such, Capcom will be heavily focusing promotional efforts on Monster Hunter 4. Capcom has also decided to shorten development times, reduce outsourcing, and focus on restructuring development methods.

  1. Fuck you haters. Third partys dont make money on Nintendo console? Then suck my balls jerez the true.

    1. I am pretty sure that there are third party publisher who had low sales on a Nintendo console, for example I know that Zack and Wiki bombed in sales when it was released on the Wii. Also you need to grow up and learn that kind of comment isn’t acceptable at all.

              1. Maybe third parties will have better chance this time. And I agree that real life problem are lame.

                1. Well for that to happen Nintendo would really need to pull those Wii U sales up as not many third party are willing to develop on a system that isn’t selling well.

Hopefully at E3 2013 we will see what Nintendo’s big plan is and whether it will actually pay off.

                  1. Yea I agree. It is just funny at the same time too. Wii U need more 3rd party games for Wii U to sell. 3rd parties will develop games for Wii U if the Wii U sell well. I find it a bit funny. :P

                    1. It’s called a catch 22 situation and yeah it’s a bit silly but not all unreasonable as publisher just want to make money while taking the least risk possible.

It’s also the reason why the Vita is struggling in sales in the west.

                    1. UK retailer tried that and it didn’t works as there was no game worth buying for the Wii U. Furthermore Nintendo is selling the Wii U at a lost and can’t afford to cut the Wii U price.

Fuck this samurai asshole. Fuck him! No game worth purchasing?? Ive bought 15 games and love them all. Samurai youre a hoe.

          1. Dude. Calm down. I love my Wii U but unless you’re a fan, it probably won’t seem as compelling. When the 1st party titles roll in the system will be fine.

    2. Lego city has sold well also :). Scribblenauts sold well considering it was only released in the US. ZombiU did excellently with 400K+ sold on 2M+ wiiu’s in the west. AC3 did ok…

          1. I don’t know about that. I was expecting it more like a PC games but its sell well for consoles. I don’t think games like Demon Souls, Fallout, and etc will sell well for Nintendo audiences. But it probably prevent some Nintendo fans buying PS3 and Xbox 360 just for 3rd party games.

            1. Demon souls have a mark of being very challenge a mark Nintendo fans like fallout has leght another mark Nintendo fans like.

            2. I think Demons Souls would sell well to the Nintendo audience but I don’t think Fallout would. That being said.. Having the Wii U gamepad serving as an interactive Pip-Boy with an interface closer to the design in the first two Fallout games?

I’m not going to lie. That would be the coolest gosh darn thing ever. While I normally feel that if you’re playing Fallout on a console you’re doing it wrong, I would get 150% behind that.

        1. Now I am really curious how well some franchise such as Monster Hunter sell on other platform. Is ZombiU sale affected by ZombiU bundle? Cause I bought that bundle for cheap just for extra controller. I don’t give a crap about ZombiU

          1. Well, Monster Hunter started on PlayStation and sold extremely well on there. It’s the best selling game to date on the PSP, for example.

Not sure how ZombiU would do since that’s a new IP and Nintendo exclusive.

            1. Zombi U isn’t a new IP exactly a new IP as Ubisoft released Zombi who gameplay is similar to Zombi U.

As I am pretty sure that Ubisoft can easily find away of releasing Zombi U on other console should they want to.

        2. Indeed. ZombiU was great people don’t think it sold 400K+ pretty much on 2M consoles between 2 Million console in Europe and America.
Monster Hunter Ultimate has done 500K+ maybe more it sold over 400K in Japan alone with the Monster hunter Wiiu bundle.

    3. i swear to god if they announce a wii u version of this game and announce it at e3, im preordering the fuck out of it. i just can’t imagine playing monster hunter without being able to transfer my saves back and forth now lol.

    4. haha.. indeed :D Capcom was very satisfied with the huge success of monster hunter 3 ultimate on wii u, which is an awesome sign for nintendo, wii u, and future Capcom support for it ;) (specifically …. a 4th gen Monster hunter game xDDD )

    1. Capcom was very satisfied with Mh3u success on wii u, so its a VERY good sign for a 4th gen Monster hunter game to come in wii u :DDD

  2. Pingback: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate had tremendous global success

  3. Monster Hunter 4 on Wiiu and 3DS in the west this time next year ;) with MH3U still being supported for those who don’t want to upgrade.

    1. I could easily see it this holidays or early next year. They could start translation right now.

      1. It would be stupid for Capcom to release MH3U and 4 in europe and USA within the same year. We will see it summer next year…

        1. Stupid?
          Hardly.
Grab 3 for the Wii U and 4 for the 3DS.
Play one at home and one on the go, both with friends.
You’re now playing two MH games with no issues.XD

    1. TheTrruth4thaHaters

God I love this song LOL!!! “Just cant waiting to MH4!!” LOL. “Smoking at Mcdonals?” LOL… Epic.

  4. Maybe the 3rd parties will see possibility of more sales on their games for Nintendo console.

  5. First, who is mario64mario? and second, this actually is a good move by Capcom! They should promote their most popular franchise! Gla to hear some good news regarding the company for once! 💋

  6. Who said they were releasing it globally? The only mention of the game says they’re focusing their efforts on the domestic (Japanese) market:

“As for product strategies for the current fiscal year ending in March 31, 2014, the Company will take an aggressive stance focusing to promote large-scale titles with “Monster Hunter 4” (for Nintendo 3DS) and “Lost Planet 3” (for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) focused on the domestic and overseas markets respectively”

    1. Overseas means global but now that you mention it they could be talking about lost planet… but i dont think so* raise the music higher*

      1. Well the “domestic” part IS referring to Monster Hunter 4 in that quote, but if Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate really has done really well globally I see no reason that Capcom wouldn’t want to promote MH4 globally as well….unless they’re retards.

  7. Humbly, I stated nintendo and Capcom would be that great force. Look now everyone, the Capconians as my fellow general Nintendo commander calls them, know working with nintendo is a winning formula. Commander, Nintedward it has begun :).

  8. Monster Hunter Ultimate is, probably, the only game that’s forcing me to consider buying a Wii U this semester, since Nintendo will take ALL THE TIME OF THE WORLD to start releasing some must-buy games. But with so many good 3DS games… it’s a hard decision! >_<"
Oh and I wouldn't mind if they released some longer charger for the Gamepad so that we can continue playing games while it's charging. That, or maybe a new Wii U model with an improved battery on the Gamepad, just like they did with the 3DS *shrug*

    1. You can play it while its charging. & they are plenty of good e-shop games to keep you busy until nintendo drops more games. I’ve got mine at launch and have never had a moment where I haven’t had something to play. :) Not to mention the stack of like 10 e-shop games I’ve yet to play. :(

  9. So 3rd parties don’t make money on Wii U huh? Yeah right! Attention all developers: If you want your game to sell on Wii U, 1st make sure your game is good. 2nd, make sure the version you create for the Wii U is the same as the other console versions. Especially if we’re paying the same price (Injustice). Follow these steps, and you to can make money like Capcom.

  10. I believe they will release this game for 3ds and Wii U
that is the only way to have a good network connection.

  11. The hell is wrong with you people? Did you not notice this little line: ” Capcom has also decided to shorten development times..” are you blind? This means we are, once again, going to end up with a shitty, rushed, buggy and filled with LESS CONTENT product! While you people are just going on about meaningless shit it just slips your awareness. No wonder the industry is slipping so steadily in the gutter. FUCKING CAPCOM!

  12. I think that releasing MH4 globally will bring another success to CAPCOM on 3DS due to the HIGH number of 3DS sales worldwide so lets wait for global release :)
