Sonic Lost World is one of three upcoming Sonic games that will arrive exclusively on Nintendo platforms. When the game is released on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U later this year, it will introduce new gameplay and enemies, according to Sega of America President John Cheng. Sonic Lost World will be a brand-new game – not a reiteration, says Cheng. Because the Wii U is the only home console that will receive the game, Cheng suggests that SEGA’s blue mascot will help boost sales of the Wii U.
“With ‘Sonic Lost World,’ we’re going to introduce new gameplay and enemies, which is always fun. In terms of Sonic and his friends, he’ll have his same friends there, and I think there’ll be some new ones as well. It’s not a reiteration. It’s going to be all new.”

anyone else find it funny that lately ea has been giving Nintendo and the wii-u allot of shit, and not supporting it, and many years ago when Sega was part of the console hardware business, when they released Dreamcast, which to this day was one of the best gaming consoles of all time, anyway when they released it ea dropped support of it, and was not releasing any games on the Sega console, and now they are doing the same to Nintendo, maybe Sega was reminded how bad ea are a bunch of wankers, and how they monopolize the games industry, and that’s why maybe Sega went to Nintendo and said you know what we guys would love to help u out, we have old scores to settle, food for thought huh? i wish Sega would go all out, and not just with sonic games, but make all their games exclusive to Nintendo platforms, and how about letting Nintendo make a few games using some of those great franchises Sega owns, and we have not played in a long while?

They did and most were on par or better than EA’s. They can make exclusive WiiU sports titles the only problem they’ll likely have is using the names of players.

@derpus look it up, when the dreamcast was launched, ea dropped support of it, and that was why sega made the 2k sports series, and they were light years better then any ea made sport games, google is your friend, look it up! its also one of the reasons why ea keeps buying the licenses to sport games, like with fifa, and madden, that way the competition is always at a massive disadvantage! the 2k sports series were much better then madden, and once upon a time pro evo by knoami was much better then fifa, but players just wouldn’t give theses games a chance without the official names of players and teams its sad really, since konami pretty much gave up!

I don’t know about new game play. The Hedgehog engine is fine as it is, just make Sonic’s platforming controls a bit more natural than in Generations and we’re fine. Unless were going back to Adventure styled controls, I’m not completely supportive of a new game play style.
The Hedgehog Engine is simply a Graphics engine. Nothing to do with gameplay.

As long as it still sticks to the core of Sonic. I’m personally sick of the Boost gameplay, so I welcome this change. If I can spindash once more, and have fast paced platforming, I’m gold. Already looking forward to the art style of the game, having a classical feel.

My one worry about this game is that its also on 3DS.. I mean I hope it turns out awesome on Wiiu and 3DS , but I hope the 3DS doesn’t hold back the Wiiu version if you know what I mean.
I hope they’re two totaly different games. If the 3DS version is a sidescroller and the Wiiu version is a full 3D game I will be happy that way. Or if the 3DS is 3D aswell but a spin offy version.

Why do the Nintendo fanboys flip out because of the word “exclusive” ? Don’t you know that Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2006, Sonic and the secret Rings, Sonic and the Black knight, Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations 3DS were terrible and that Sonic Colors and Generations were only decent to good? Sonic has been down and it’s still below Sonic Heroes level which is the beginning of the “dark age”.

I must say that, even with baddas graphics, the Generations on the 3DS is awesome as it really feels like a Sonic game. Also, Sonic is relevant since it was on Nintendo’s back years ago stalking and competing, Some of the Sega’s work was the reason of the Nintendo-Sony’s partnership and indirectly the PS creation

it was a disaster, the games were horrible, the support a nightmare, the controls bad, and the publisher a bitch. The mistake was so great that the games are now used on Youtube poops videos. The Nintendo did agree but in the end, both agreed that the result would be horrible. Then the Sony said: “Damn, I can build my own consoles, after all, im the leading company in technology(at that time)” then PS was born. The SEGA was still on the PS vs N64 war, but was more in the underground(and let me tell you, the Dreamcast was way better than the N64 and the PS1, but it had little support and only few supporters.) Then the Saturn came and it was way too late, the Gamecube and Ps2 war was already started. There was a Sega Neptune project but was declined when the SEGA became game publisher only.

Ignoring that whenever a it would be nice if it was like Sonic Adventure 2. I just hope it is not like Sonic and the secret rings when you have to play the same damn course 7 times just to get to the next. I was annoyed with that. I only got it because I thought it would be as good as SA2. I have to see it at a Nintendo Direct and play it at best buy first.
I don’t mind new characters as they are developed right. I hope we can play as Tails, Knuckles, and others in this. I miss playing with multiple characters. The series had its up and downs, but I am glad games like Sonic Colors and Generations brought Sonic back to right step again. I am sure this game will be a great one.

Wait a sec… Remember the rumour of ‘Sonic Excursion’? Now it would actually made sense that the first level of the game is called ‘Shattered Heights’, with the planet being actually shattered and not complete.
I almost can’t wait for Sonic Lost World, the first and only screenshot untill now looks great! Although I’m not sure how the GamePad is going to be involved in the gameplay, making combo’s in the air by drawing figures?
