Gunman Clive developer Bertil Hörberg has revealed to Siliconera that he’s working on a The Legend of Zelda-inspired game for the Nintendo 3DS. According to Hörberg, the game is still very early in development and uses a top-down perspective with 3D graphics. Hörberg says he thinks that players will inevitably make comparisons between his game and Nintendo’s upcoming spiritual successor to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
It’s still very early in development and a lot of the design isn’t finalized, but it’s very heavily inspired by the early Zelda games; it uses a topdown perspective with 3D graphics and it’s for the 3DS. The artstyle is fairly different from the new Zelda but has some influences from [A Link to the Past] as well, so yes I think comparisons will certainly be made [to A Link to the Past 2].
I think most players realize that my resources are rather more limited though and I wouldn’t presume to be in direct competition with Nintendo. I just hope people will be up for a bit more old-school action adventure gameplay regardless.

Coool….as long as it has temples and weapons
Uhhh hello father and I love temples and we r exited for this game sister always is a big fan of zelda but not as big as me and father.
This site really needs to be moderated better if people like you are still commenting.

I fuck your sister and have her dress up as zelda.
Uhh hello! I dont think any1 can beat zelda wen it comes to tempels and wepons because nintend work harder then those devs with more money than what u, myself and mother, or any indie devs can dirt out…but im interesed in siing this game
Girls are not that scary, just try talking to one every once in awhile instead of this lame attempt at trying to copy someone else’s already imagined character.
I’m all for old school gameplay!
Only problem, mister Hörberg, is that I’d appreciate it if your new game was more than just an hour long this time.
I agree.
I’m looking forward to this! Gunman Clive is a great game so I know this new Zelda-inspired will be too.
That sounds neat. I really enjoyed a lot Gunman Clive, and it was inspired in Megaman. I hope this new game has the same price :P
Best 2 bucks I ever spent on a game.
Is Gunman Clive really fun?
Uhh hello! I didnt relly injoy gunman clive because it was just porrly made. i would save ur money or get a virtaul consele game
I could have paid instead and i would not have regret it.
I’m down! Hope we play as the duck!
Lol. We should be able to attack a human, and, after enough hits, a mob of invincble humans should show up and try and kill us ala Zelda cuccoos, just in reverse xD
That would be a funky Zelda reference lol.
Mother sometimes says i look like a duck. :/
Dosnt surprise me.
Did you develop a facial deformity over night?
guys if you didn’t get Gunman Clive, you’re missing a great downloadable game! it’s awesome and it’s really cheap.
I enjoyed the Megaman inspired Gunman Clive, so I should really love a game inspired by my favorite series of all time, The Legend of Zelda!!!! Just one thing, make this one a little longer. A Zelda inspired game should last me for quite a while.
That just proves something! How many more devs are inspired by Nintendo?? (Many)
:)
The question is how many are not is easier to count.
I feel like every indie game says “Inspired by Legend of Zelda.” lol! 💋
You know, Cryamore also lists Zelda as one of its big inspirations, and that game looks like it’s going to be a BLAST.
If they can do it, then so can this guy, I think.
I’m keeping an eye on you, Clive Creator. Let’s see what you can do.
More and more games.
Great.
Gunmen Clive has an awesome artstyle! 💋
i will buy anything the guy put up. Gunman Clive is perfect and has kickass music as well
Sounds cool!
What the hell is going on with these comments? I’m from the states, so someone please encourage me and assure that comments like those of bensanders are not indicative of many Euro gamers. Lol?
It’s not a “spiritual succesor”. They said it is a direct sequel.
