fire_emblem_awakening

Shin Megami Tensei IV, the upcoming mature-themed role playing game from ATLUS for the Nintendo 3DS system, has a brand new limited-time offer for fans: players in the U.S. and Canada who purchase Shin Megami Tensei IV and Nintendo’s hit turn-based strategy game Fire Emblem Awakening and register both games on their free Club Nintendo account will receive a $30 credit to use in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. The promotion begins on the release date of Shin Megami Tensei IV – July 16, 2013 – and runs through August 31. Both retail and digital purchases of either game are eligible for the offer, so long as both games are registered to the same Club Nintendo account by August 31, 2013.

The Club Nintendo promotion is a first-of-its-kind offer from Nintendo and ATLUS. RPG fans, tacticians, strategists and other gamers who love deep story and turn-based combat that purchase both games and complete the promotion requirements will earn a $30 credit to the Nintendo 3DS eShop to put towards any paid content, including future games and downloadable content (DLC). After each game is registered to the same Club Nintendo account, players must complete a short web survey by the August 31 deadline to receive the credit.

    1. I’m pretty sure if you already registered it to your account, it will count. All registered games are saved to a list on your Club Nintendo account.

  1. can i use the 30$ on my Wii U? or just 3DS? this offer is awesome cuz i havent registered fire emblem awakening yet and i have a store near me that the guy always just gives me the codes from display boxes of the games, and all i would need is the code of shin megami =D

      1. “* $30 credit can be redeemed for the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS or Wii U.”

Wii and DSi device can’t because they use points as currency, not local currency.

  2. So I was right about the whole registering the game thing with Club Nintendo. :)

I’m getting SMT IV but I don’t have and I don’t think I’ll be getting Fire Emblem any time soon. ;/

    1. But because of this offer, you’ll basically be getting Fire Emblem for ten bucks at MSRP. Maybe even less, depending on the retailer.

        1. not for everyone, i got my Fire Emblem game for 17.99 from Bestbuy (it was on sale) and i already have my SMT:IV copy preordered, so my totaled would be around $70. Ill just make my Next Purchase Digital.

Techniquely, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team will end up costing me $15.

    2. Can you tell me what is SMT game is? What type of games it is. I may have PS3 and Vita but that does not mean I have play this series before.

      1. IDK if this is a right comparison, but it’s kind of like an adult version of Pokemon. If you also played the Persona game (which considering you have a PS3 and Vita it’s the law to do so), you’ll understand the mechanics of the game better.

    3. I couldn’t recommend a 3DS game anymore than Fire Emblem Awakening. It’s excellent for those new to the series as well as long time fans. It’s definitely the best strategy-RPG out there by far. The only way I would not recommend it is if you totally hate strategy-RPGs because that is pretty much the entire game. Good story to follow though if you don’t want to play it however.

  3. I think this has to do with Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. Maybe we will get some more info soon :D

    1. Haha you failed. You are nothing anymore your fans abandoned you long time ago. I am dominating this site you loser. Your nothing loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer. YOU ARE NOTHING. Yo bye bye

  4. Promotion page says:

Already registered Fire Emblem Awakening? Simply register Shin Megami Tensei IV by August 31 to qualify for this offer.

  5. Well a yohoho and to Amazon preorder page I fucking go!

Until then, I’ll catch up on the PSP SMT titles.

    1. I take that back then, I’ll just rent from gamefly until I can buy off ebay. Really? I have to have Fire Emblem Awakening too? buttholes

  6. This is good. With the 30 dollars now I can try games I only considered, like Dillions rolling western, as well as push mo and possibly crashmo.

    1. Are you familiar with JRPG? It’s a turn based one. There is random encounter with enemies. You fight them in 1st-person viewpoint (with the exception of Shin Megami Tensei III where you can switch to 3rd person viewpoint in battles). You can also recruit monsters and combine them to create a new one (this combination system is called “Fusion” in the game). There are alignments in this game: good, evil, etc. The game is non linear, has multiple endings.

Shin Megami Tensei is one main branch of the metaserie Megaten (abbreviation of Megami tensei). There are other branches like Persona, Devil Survivor, etc

  7. Well this sucks!! I already own Fire Emblem Awakening(beat it for the secod time yesterday) and I have bo intention of buying Shin Megami Tensei IV… I wish this deal was for Project X Zone, because I kind of want to get that game. 💋

      1. Ive seen it has gotten some pretty favorable reviews. Like 8/10’s, 3/5’s, etc. Not bad I think. 💋

    1. Project X Zone isn’t really worth your money unless you’re planning to just listen to the soundtrack. There’s is basically no story, random characters from different franchises and the gameplay is just dull and repetitive. Youd have 100x more fun with Shin Megami Tensei IV. The game is just amazing like all the others in the series.

  8. I registered Fire Emblem Awakening when it came out…does it still count or would I have to buy it again? And does the $30 go to either Wii U e-shop or 3DS e-shop?

      1. Actually you can use the money on the Wii U too. Look at the bottom of the page. It look like a fine print. XD

  9. Oh good so already registered FE:Awakening counts still. I think I’ll save it $30 for awhile…maybe use it on Pokemon X or Zelda The Link Between Worlds? Maybe for a Wii U game…hmm.

    1. Already Registered Fire Emblem COUNTS!?! 0.o What If I Downloaded it through 3DS eShop? Would it automatically give me the $30 code or something? 💋

  10. Official Club Nintendo page says:

We think you will love both Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS™ system. For a limited time only, you can get a $30 Nintendo eShop credit when you buy and register both games and complete the registration surveys by August 31, 2013. Your $30 credit can be used to buy any content available from the Nintendo eShop.

Already registered Fire Emblem Awakening? Simply register Shin Megami Tensei IV by August 31 to qualify for this offer.

  11. YES!!!! I was afraid that since I got the hardware package of Awakening, I couldn’t do it. Thank you Nintendo. Now all I need is Capcom to release Dual Destinies for less than $30 and I’m set.

  12. Maybe I’ll try SMT, never played it before, but I got kind of interested with the crossover. Not sure if I like the style, but its worth a try. Plus ill be able to buy Luigi U after.

  13. Reading this just makes me laugh at all those clowns that try to justify Sony and Microsoft charging for online by bringing up how their services can allow you to get free games. Why? Because Nintendo does the SAME stuff and then some with CLUB NINTENDO which is 100% FREE to use! Seriously, once Nintendo gets the NNID’s straightened, there will be almost no contest.

  14. Nintendo needs to do this for Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101!!! Imagine the sales those guys would get if it happens. It would also boost eShop development (which is already becoming robust) for indie games as gamer’s would MosDef pick up not only retail but also indie games on the eShop with that money!!!

  18. I tried it. And I got 30 dollars!! This way, even in the Philippines, I’ll be able to buy games in the eshop! Just downloaded colors 3d!!!
