Yakuza 1&2 HD Wii U Demo Footage

Tilmen from Nintendomination has uploaded an hours worth of footage from the Yakuza 1&2 HD demo for the Wii U. The demo is only available to Japanese Wii U owners and sees you assume the role of Kazuma Kiryu, a former Yakuza member.  Yakuza 1&2 HD is currently only available to purchase in Japan as Sega has yet to announce a western release.

        1. You will get used to it .
He is just an idiot who wants some attention ( and he is getting it thanks to his creepy comments )

    1. Did you also get Yakuza 4 and Dead Souls? The games didn’t do too well sales-wise in the West, which is likely a large factor is us hearing nothing about a localization of Yakuza 5 or 1 & 2 HD.

      Unfortunately….. ;/

  1. I’m not one to judge a game based on its graphics but… graphically this isn’t the kind of press the WiiU needs. If the WiiU has any chance of competing with the new consoles it will have to better than this graphically. I understand it is meant to be an HD upgrade to a series but, HD compared to what? I hope the holiday lineup is amazing and saves the system but, at this point I am disappointed. Point being, the system needs to show of it’s power right now.. not cater to a niche group of gamers like with this will.

    1. People like you is what is wrong with the industry. Always whining about everything and anything. You don’t like? At least give a valid reason.

      1. Tell ya what son, get some balls, make an account, and graduate highschool. Then maybe we can talk about business and industry. I did not complain about anything, I stated a fact. The WiiU has great potential and this video is not an example of that. I am a supporter of the business not any one company. The other companies in this business have shown their cards. And ya know what? They have decent hands. When things are “down” like this and you are relying on future sales and deals to drive a system an “hd” remake of a brawler isn’t something that will pump out big numbers. Proven franchises and new ideas are what count at times like this. Names that will bring mass support not “remakes” of a Japanese franchise. I have high hopes for Nintendo and this system. There are things you gamble on and things you don’t and this, this is a small fish in the ocean. I hope the sales for this are great within the Japanese market but, localization for this title just woukd not pay out enough.

        1. They are ps2 games in HD… Also known (by me) as quick buck games… Way to earn quick buck with little work

  2. damn why is this site so obsessed with japan? there is a world outside of the rising sun you know. damn this site sucks

    1. When the rest of the world start giving a damn about the console we play may be this site will post news about … may be.

  3. Is it just me or does this still look entirely like a PS2 game? This is the last thing the Wii U needs. Stiff fighting controls and many moments of utter and complete dull silence

    1. Duh is HD update not a remake. If they did a remake it would certainly would be released just for wiiu also is at least millions times better than the sillent hill HD collection.

      1. True. But they’re not supposed to look like them. When a game is re-released in HD, it’s supposed to bring new life into the series/game. It’s meant to look and feel like it can compete with modern games. This just looks kinda sad. I love my PS2 and I don’t really mind broken mechanics but it’s obvious that Sega didn’t put all they could into this one

    1. This is the only wiiu HD port if you are sick of them go whine to the console that is releasing them every month.

  4. Looks boring to me. The enemies don’t even fight back. They just walk around like robots that someone forgot to program. And it doesn’t look HD at all.

  5. This could just have easily skipped the HD part, it doesn’t look HD at all…

Some Gamecube games looks way better than this…

      1. I’m betting this won’t sell well and then they’ll blame our Empire as always while others makes real HD versions for the other 2 like Soul Calibur 2…

The worst still was when the Xbots got the Perfect Dark remake…

    1. It’s not intended to be a HD remake like The Wind Waker or Soulcalibur II.

It’s essentially the same as the Jak & Daxter Collection, the Ratchet & Clank Collection, the God of War Collection, the Prince of Persia Trilogy and the myriad of other collections available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

It has nothing to do with creating modern textures, models, lighting and effects, it’s primarily about repackaging older titles that’re now rendered at 1280×720 or 1920×1080.

  6. Its funny that people dont know here what resolution is and it doesnt have anything to do with the graphics. Anyway Nintendo should publish this overhere if sega dont bother, for the sake of keeping interesting games comin.

  7. I hope this game comes to the west. It really makes me miss Japan when I used to live there. The street life, Japanese schoolgirls, and the massage parlors or “spas”, some which were ran by real Yakuza. I would love to run through the streets of Japan again on my Wii U.
