The head of Sonic Team, Takashi Iizuka, has explained why Sonic Lost World is being developed exclusively for Nintendo platforms. Iizuka, who also serves as the game’s producer, says the development of Sonic Lost World began before the Wii U was even revealed. According to Iizuka, SEGA started off working on a PC version of the game in order to experiment what type of platformer they could develop. When Nintendo finally revealed the Wii U, Sonic Team decided that the game would best suit Nintendo’s two latest consoles.
“The Wii U hadn’t been revealed when development began for Sonic Lost World, so we were working on a PC version in order to see what kind of platformer we could make,” said Iizuka. “Then, when we tried to think about which platform would be best for this game, we chose Nintendo.”
Sonic Lost World will be released for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U on October 18th in Europe and October 22nd in North America.

Honestly it’s because of the GamePad. They wanted to put the concept to work badly, but they didn’t want the console to be too expensive, so they sacrified power.

I agree completely. I really like the idea of a second independent screen. Sadly Nintendo kinda overwhelmed themselves with the gamepad IMO. Remember when they said that the Wii U can support up to two gamepads at once, but they don’t even know what to do with just one. Hopefully Nintendo will learn their lessons with there next console.
Nintendo is contradictory because the Wii U’s reason of existence was to remove the Nintendo hardware inferiority.
Now with the new console and the PS4….well…..Wii U is not underpowered but it can’t compete that easily on the hardware side with Sony’s new system just like PS3 can’t compete with a fully used Wii U hardware configuration that easily.
Multi screen gaming should have been introduced with the console after the wii u’s successor.
10years from now and the hardware could handle Crysis3 in 1440p60, maximum settings and 4 simulatenous independent rendered screen mirrors.

Im gonna get 3DS version first and after that Wii U version!!!!! Now it would be cool if Sonic would became Nintendo exclusive forever. I really believe that it would be possible that one of the reasons why this is N exclusive is because EAss pulled support off from Wii u like they did for Dreamcast. Sega probably wanted their revenge and to show 3rd party devs like Eass their middle finger for makin their biggest title exclusive to Wiiu and 3DS, atleast thats the beatiful way to think of it imo. CPU GPU the fact is the PS4 is about graphics since they aimed at being the most powerful console. Yet those games look like PS3 games. Where’s the groundbreaking graphics at? As for the Wii U, I don’t hold them accountable since they aren’t targeting groundbreaking graphics. Yet whenever a new game is unveiled, is graphics surprises more than PS4 since it has 3 cores to Sony’s 8. So where are the groundbreaking graphics at on the 8 core console?
Why do you keep talking about the CPU? The CPU is used for a ton of different things, not just “good graphics.” You know that, right?
That said, the games that have been shown for the PS4 do have great graphics and visual effects, but that’s not what it’s all about.
If you (or anyone else) were expecting a giant leap in graphics from the current to next gen, you were only fooling yourself, really. There *are* noticeable improvements though.
