In celebration of the highly anticipated launch of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, the first of three Legendary character distribution events begins August 19th only at participating GameStop stores in the United States. Players can get their hands on Shiny versions of powerful and hard-to-get Legendary Pokémon—Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina—starting with Dialga, which was featured on the cover of the Pokémon Diamond video game.
What makes this event extraordinary is that each of the distributed Legendary Pokémon, which are already difficult to get during gameplay, will be Shiny, meaning they have unusual coloring that is extremely rare. Each Shiny Pokémon will be available, one at a time, for only three weeks each, so Trainers will need to plan accordingly and head to a participating GameStop location if they want to add these extremely rare Legendary Pokémon to their Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, or Pokémon White 2 game.
Once the Steel- and Dragon-type Dialga’s distribution ends on September 8th, Pokémon fans can get a Shiny version of the Water- and Dragon-type Pokémon Palkia, beginning September 9th, and a Shiny version of the Ghost- and Dragon-type Pokémon Giratina, beginning September 30th. Both of the subsequent events are also taking place at participating GameStop stores in the United States. Palkia is the Legendary Pokémon featured on the cover of Pokémon Pearl, and the Giratina players will receive is the same Legendary Pokémon that appears in both Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl.
Fans who own Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, or Pokémon White 2 can bring their copy of the game and their Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS system to participating GameStop stores and get a Shiny Dialga, Shiny Palkia, and Shiny Giratina during the following dates:
- Shiny Dialga: Monday, August 19th, 2013–Sunday, September 8th, 2013
- Shiny Palkia: Monday, September 9th, 2013–Sunday, September 29th, 2013
- Shiny Giratina: Monday, September 30th, 2013–Sunday, October 20th, 2013
Players will need to have the Pokédex within the game and have no more than 11 Wonder Cards in their possession.
In Canada, the Shiny Dialga character distribution event begins Friday, August 30th, at participating EB Games locations. Canadian players can get a Shiny Palkia beginning Friday, September 13th, and a Shiny Giratina beginning Friday, September 27th, at participating EB Games stores across Canada.

Some of my friends going get Pokemon Y or X but I don’t know if I want it though. I barely play Pokemon White. I am not sure it is the Pokemon series that I don’t like anymore or it is just Pokemon White. After all I spend over 999:59 hours on Pokemon Diamond.

Oh yeah all the time online. Now I started using Charizard and Salamence for my double battle combo. I been thinking of using Gravity move since there are so many opponents use Earthquake move in double battle.
Especially how easy it is to get every Pokemon now. All you need to do is buy more games, and then go to these events where they hand out legendaries like they’re not even rare, and to top it all off, they’re SHINY. Everything is shiny now, Shiny Suicune, Raikou and Entei, Shiny Dialga, Giritina, Palkia, Shiny Genesect, shiny this, shiny that. Remember when catching pokemon was fun? Or how you actually had a hard time getting them all in Ruby and Sapphire, since you couldn’t trade over your old ones? Or how Shiny Pokemon were actually rare to come by, unless someone had a Gameshark? My first ever shiny was a green tentacool, and I felt amazing when I caught it. I didn’t get it in an event, it wasn’t overpowered, it wasn’t EV trained. I just got him. He was like a trophy you could show off. Remember when Legendary Pokemon were actually rare to come by? Like when it was rare to see someone with any of the Regis from Ruby and Sapphire, since not many could figure out the puzzles? And then Diamond and Pearl came out and the GTS became loaded with hacked shinies and legendaries and asking for level 9 and under everythings. I want a Pokemon game where it’s actually difficult to get all of them. One where you CAN’T transfer all your old Pokemon, I know people would get mad since you can’t get that one guy you trained forever for in the previous one, but now you have the challenge of doing it again. I’m sick of EV trainers, I’m sick of shiny pokemon, I’m sick of legendary events, and I’m especially getting sick of Pokemon. After Heartgold and Soulsilver, I lost interest. I got both Black and White and beat them, and it was okay, and then I got White 2 and I never beat it. It wasn’t fun anymore. I never got the thrill of catching anything. You’re pretty much GIVEN everything in the game. I know there’ll be the butthurt kids who will call me a genwunner, even though I LIKED all the way to Diamond and Pearl, and was okay with Black and White, but I’m okay with it. A lot of this is my opinion. If I don’t like it that doesn’t mean you don’t. I just want to have fun playing a game, and not get my ass kicked by some overpowered ev trained shiny legendary the next time I go onto WiFi.

It is a card in your game that allow you to get event Pokemon. I can’t remember the limit but you can erase the slot. (Your Pokemon will not disappear if you claim the Pokemon.)
How do you get the Pokemon? Where do you need to go and press to get it?
If you have unlock “Mystery Gift” then it will be in the main menu of your game. If you haven’t unlocked it then do not worry.

Not sure about Black 2 and White 2 but you need to get a Pokedex in Black and White version then you will able to get event Pokemon through “Mystery Gift” feature.
