Miiverse Now Supports Tags

miiverse

Marty from Nintendo has announced that Miiverse now has an option to add the following tags to posts: Question, Accomplishment, Impressions, Retro and Players Wanted. Here’s what Marty says has changed. First, we’ve made some changes to the Miiverse Code of Conduct. The main change is the addition of the following section: “Do Not Let Others Use Your Nintendo Network ID”. Information on Nintendo Network ID management was previously included in the Nintendo Network Agreement and Nintendo Network Privacy Policy, but now it can also be checked within Miiverse. Additionally, there have been further changes and additions made to several other points.

The other changes are as follows: Wii U version and Web version You can now attach tags such as “Question” and “Impressions” to your Miiverse posts. Any tags you attach yourself will be coloured blue. (As before, posts made from games will have green tags.) The tags you can choose vary by community, but now that you can filter posts by tag, it’s much easier to find the post you’re looking for! Wii U version only The character limit for messages to other users has been changed to 200. In June, we changed the character limit for posts and comments from 100 to 200, and now we’ve carried over this change to also apply to messages.

It’s way too regulated. It’s not, fun. You can’t make fun of people so what’s the point. That’s all gamers do is berate each other. You can’t do that on miiverse.

        1. That is why I love Miiverse. No morons to ruin the fun with stupidity. Just gamers sharing, and having positive interactions.

          1. Agreed. If Miiverse was unregulated it would become like this site:

A bunch of trolls posting “FIRST” in every other message….. I wish Call of Duty was regulated… I would surely probably enjoy the experience if I didn’t have 12 year olds threatening to shoot my mom and deficate down her throat (god, rest her soul)

            1. I love it when kids say to one of my friends. The funny part is that she doesn’t have a mom. -_- She just don’t know what to say to those kids at that time.

            2. And its exactly why I stopped playing that BS COD and appreciate Nintendo’s approach and decisions even more.

            3. Miiverse is to strict. You get banned for anything. I call a guy silly I get banned. Anyone past the 1st grade gets banned all the time.

            1. We don’t have to. Just show a hint of it and it tells the rest of the sad story of a sad little man with an empty life.

          1. Agreed but its also fun to show off your art work from scratch too. Pretty soon, it will be used for much more thanks to the art academy for wii u. So, if you still think there is still no point, then your fucked up.

        2. And that is a bad thing because?? If you are serious then you are an example of what is wrong with the gaming community. If you have to make fun of someone else then you need to re-evaluate yourself and get some help.

            1. And if we ask you the same question, what the results we be? Got proof to show? No? Then for the love of god, stop imposing yourself like a real loser and GTFO. And if you’re a grown ass man acting like you’re still living with your grandparents, then I can only pity you as much because this what you’re doing is beyond the pathetic scale.

        3. You obviously missed the conception of Nintendo’s “Family Oriented” approach. They won’t accept anything or from anyone considered offensive period. You can freely do so on MySpace or whatever safe haven social medium where you feel safe to troll and act tough at anytime like a real punk afraid of reality. But in Nintendo’s turf, all the BS the Internet can offer at others doesn’t exist in Miiverse.

I appreciate its level of respectful authority put into this social media that is Miiverse because how we look at the world/gaming world of today, it should be more like Miiverse. Talking about games in a fun, respectful manner. If you don’t like it, go to Youtube comments and knock yourself out..literally.

    1. Miiverse is a social network for Nintendo games. That’s all it is, that’s all it is trying to be. It is not reinventing the wheel (except for the strict moderation).

I like it for what it is, it does add a sense of community to what otherwise would be a solitary experience.

      1. He found out that there is tags feature in the Miiverse before the news. That is what I understand.

    1. Yes it does.. before i got a Wii U i thought it was something silly I would never use…. Heck I log into my Wii U just to check messages and jump into conversations completely forgetting that i turned on my console to play monster hunter, I end up getting sidetracked every time.

    2. Oh wait until the 3DS’s version comes. The whole “Friend Codes” nightmare will finally be over. ^_^

  2. Cool. Maybe I could use them… if I hadn’t been given a two week suspension for trying to help raise awareness of Shadow of the Eternals. I’m not sure sure what to think when Nintendo’s own moderators ban you for tying to promote a game for their system. The mind boggles.

    1. Jay James Jameson Reynolds IV.

Miiverse is for, children. Babies and sissies. If you fags can’t take a
Someone poking fun t you then you need to get that stick out your assess. I’m with you miiverse blows.

      1. I somewhat agree and don’t agree. I agreed that some people should loosen up a bit but flaming on net may be fun but we never going be on topic. After all we all want to talk about the news or topic and not arguing with trolls if you get my drift.

      2. Well, I can dig it, no problem. Oh, you forgot a few words…”ban trolls”. People report you for no reason and your banned. You also forgot your momma, daddy, grandma, grampa, and uncle too, because you don’t like it doesn’t mean everyone one else wouldn’t. So you don’t like miiverse, big deal, get over it. Strict they are but have you seen how people really are? Flaming, trolling, fanboys/fangirls, you, etc. Do you think they want that clutter in their system? Look at Xbox with people getting pissed off…here, an example:

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AL6Z063LgU

point saying is what Super_Gravy is saying in more different terms.

      3. Yup. Another childish Xbot in need of decommissioning. Oh and you’re one to talk about “children” when you still haven’t grown out of your adult diaper days. How sad.

  3. Miiverse can be frustrating with kid users beggins others to blockthis, report that. But this is a step in the right direction.Make miiverse more streamlined. I got one comment deleted once, for saying someone was soft in the head. Some people need a swift kick in the pants. Not to have their hands held by the administrators. But I still like miiverse, and the young and old corrupt so sadly it does need moderation…

  4. i loved miiverse since day one. sadly Nintendo the only one of the three getting with the times in the form of social network.

  5. Clearly what is needed are two separate versions of Miiverse (I hate that name. It’s very childish). Nintendo has to understand that adult gamers don’t like being treated like children.

Also, Nintendo are now supposedly big supporters of indie devs, so they should have a kickstarter app available on the eShop, so that gamers can become more aware of, and choose to support indies.

If I didn’t use this website, I would never have known about all the upcoming kickstarter titles for Wii U.

    Thank you, MyNintendoNews.

  6. I agree with what your saying. An app like that would only raise awareness for wiiu and the indie titles that are coming. even if its just a logo or something.
As much as I dislike this site at times.its the only one thats updated with great regularity, troll bait articles or not…
Im hoping miiverse lets us take more controll of how we want miiverse to be displayed to us.It would be nice if we could have an option to only display messages of an age specific demographic. To have us show our countries flag. That way We can decide if someones bad grammer is tobeing foreign or just soft in the head.Changes like that would go along way to keep the peace without having to make a new miiverse.

  7. I am glad Miiverse has rules to make a positive enviroment. The regular internet sites are so polluted with profanity, unclean jokes, and other offensive material that is hard to enjoy talking to someone, not to mention when insults start over minor things. I hope for more positive communities.

    1. I agree. Insults and hate have no place there, but the Miiverse mods are prone to overreacting over ridiculous things. Many innocent users are pissed off with them for being made to feel like seriously offensive users.
