Capcom Says More Remastered Disney Games Depend On DuckTales’ Sales Performance

kinopoisk.ruEarlier this year, Capcom said they were open to creating more Disney remastered editions of past games such as Chip N’ Dale Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck, with the former being the most likely to receive a remake first. Now, it appears the company has reiterated their stance over on the Capcom Unity forum boards, but it all depends on how well DuckTales Remastered is received by the gamer fan-base.

Capcom employee Jimmy Rey has posted on the boards saying that it all boils down to DuckTales’ sales performance. So, if you want another remastered Disney edition, and to share in the adventures of those cheeky chipmunks Chip N’ Dale, or maybe dark-haired “Street Rat” Aladdin, then you better open up those wallets. DuckTales Remastered is available now in the Wii U eShop.

“The better DuckTales does, the more likely we’ll do another.” – Jimmy Rey, Capcom Employee

  1. I actually enjoyed Ducktales so much I’d like to see more remastered Disney classics such as Aladdin, Chip and Dale, Jungle Book and so on :D

  2. Release Ducktales Remastered on a physical retail disc and I’ll buy it.
Also, I’d LOVE to see a remastered version of Chip N’ Dale Rescue Rangers. I LOVED that game when I was a kid. Unfortunately I never played Rescue Rangers 2, and with how much it sells for on eBay, it doesn’t look like I’ll ever get that chance.

  3. I’m so sick of Capcom these days, they are always like “buy this crappy game first and then we may do a game you want(I know some of you love ducktales)”, and even if they sell, they usually don’t bring other games, this is just marketing for Ducktales

      1. Yep, I played the ps3 version, maybe I used the wrong words, is not bad, but they have better Disney games to remaster, and in comparison, this is the worst they have IMO, and now they want you to buy it if you wanna see the other games(that are better) remastered. I hate this new tactic of Capcom, even if it sells well, they may not remaster any other game, making this just a marketing lie.

  4. They need to shut up. If you’re going to be money grubbing, then keep it on the downlow. I don’t want to hear about how this is all about money for you. I also don’t want to be shamed and blamed for not buying multiple versions of your 20+ year old ports.

Obviously this is business, but there is a certain amount of brand loyalty that goes a long way in business too. You make the content and we’ll come to you. Don’t be asking us to invest in you in hopes that maybe hopefully one day in the future you’ll end up producing something for us.

  5. Goofy( Sega Genesis), The Lion King (Sega Gebesis version) and Chip N’ Dale!(NES). WB should remaster Tiny Toons adventure for Gameboy and Sega Genesis. I loved Buster’s treasure hunt.

    1. That was a Sega game. They’re currently working on that Castle of Illusion remake, so hopefully if that game does well they’ll remake QuackShot as well.
