Crytek Announce New CryEngine, Wii U Supported

CRYTEK_CMYK

Crytek have ushered in a new era for their state-of-the-art CRYENGINE  technology, with  the launch of the new CRYENGINE; an ever-evolving technology service, with always up to date access to the latest features in CRYENGINE for commercial game licensees.

CRYENGINE users will also benefit from the coming together of Crytek’s Engine Licensing and Research & Development teams; a move designed to double the level of one-to-one care game licensees can tap into, in essence offering Crytek’s R&D as a service for developers using the new CRYENGINE.

On top of these changes, the new CRYENGINE supports development on current and next generation consoles (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U), alongside PC, with further platforms to be added in the near future.

Thanks, Nuxorous

    1. No, just the Wii U…

I’m sensing that the Cryteks are trying to expose their masters, the Electrons with this ahahahahahah…

Nintendo victory after victory, I so long for the day they all fall while we rise!

      1. well think about it, Crytek stated that the Wii U is as strong as a ps3/360 at it’s weakest meaing that they themselves have actually worked and used the system itself. So at this point, some to most other devs are either being bought out or possibly know that if they release their games on the U system, the PS4/X1 might have a bit of sales hinderance.

        1. Well according to them it is but we know it’s a bit more powerful than those…

But nontheless it is quite obvious that their engines should work…

        2. LOL EA had released their games for Wii U but nobody bought it why cos you play only Mario and Zelda THQ bankrupt cos they ported Darksiders 2 for Wii U 1M$ for nothing now let’s see when that idiots Ubisoft released Their games for Wii U i am sure nobody gonna buy Watch Dogs AC Black Flag or Splinter Cell BL for Wii U

        3. I remember last year when the ruler of the wind was talking about next gen engines eventually being announced and that the Wii U won’t be functional with any of them. This certainly destroys that viewpoint.

Unfortunately, Crytek suckle at the teat of EA, so it’s possible we’ll never see the true potential of this fulfilled.

    2. You’re quite annoying with that “Uhh hello!” going on EVERY SINGLE TIME. Please quit it.
      Also, no. Wii U only.

          1. You’re being trolled. He’s obviously always joking. Look at his first post, asking if DS is supported: it’s obviously a joke. He’s a funny guy. Now stop being an idiot. At least he’s not coming here and saying “the wii u sucks” or some bullshit like that.

        1. EA spitefully took away Crysis 3 spitefully being the publishers. It was once spite actually worked for our good. Crysis 3 was artichoke bad at 5 hours of beautiful visuals mediocre game mechanics smh.

    1. On top of these changes, the new CRYENGINE supports development on current and next generation consoles (Xbox One, PlayStation®4, and WiiU™), alongside PC, with further platforms to be added in the near future.

Quote: above statement is from Crytek, also directed at the following individuals :

jellybean, ness, Von xboxdone Scrontum, aldarazz and ofcourse Neutron.

    1. At least something good happened for nintendo, it’s really small, and like one 3rd party will use this engine, but oh well

    1. Their frostbite 3 is equivalent to the cryEngine 3, this new engine literally blow both the frostbite 3 and unreal engine 4 right out of the water, and the raindrop demo of this wonder engine. So now I hope Kojima and his fox engine are desparately porting their engine and games to the WiiU :). Square Enix your Luminous FFVX game engine needs to bring that game back home to nintendo :).

        1. I know right! Let alone how that wonder of a game vanquish suffered in sales due to halo-gear of greyscale funs. PS4 and WiiU shall be battling for Japanese RPGs in a little bit here.

            1. It deserves to be on Wii U a lot more than it does Xbox One. Weird decision Square Enix made there. Then again, they have had a pattern of stupid decisions over recent years.

              1. KH dep seems to be wise, main games on Ps2 and prologues on nintendo. but now, lets choose x-gone, which will be used for FPS generic games, and add jRPG, something new to them

        2. Well, because of the similar architecture of the Xbox One and PS4, it’s a much easier port to do.

And on the topic of KH3 not being on Wii U, I actually don’t want it to come to the console. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Wii U. I have one and are gonna be increasing my Wii U library a lot pretty soon. And I’d love to see A Kingdom Hearts game on the Wii U in the future.

But for Kingdom Hearts 3, i do not want the Wii U port holding it back. With the power behind the other 2 consoles, this game has the potentially to be absolutely fucking amazing and gorgeous and possibly do stuff the Wii U is not built to do.

I think there’s room for Kingdom Hearts on the Wii U ion the future but I just 1 really fucking awesome game that utilises the power of the better powered consoles first. And THEN we can have an exclusive, different Kingdom Hearts game that could possibly do stuff that the PS4 and XB1 cannot do but the Wii U GamePad COULD.

There’s a silver lining to this situation.

          1. The wii u is not that weak compare to ps4 and the xbox1. No third party gonna push the ps4 and xbox1 to their limits.

              1. Once a pretendo… always a pretendo. Don’t underestimate the Wii U since it’s just a video game console.

      1. I won’t buy another Metal Gear unless it makes it to Wii U. I have decided to put all of my money to the Wii U bypassing all other consoles despite Metal Gear being one of my all time favorites.

    1. Don’t get me singing joyous melodies. Retro are also as we last heard busy developing an engine. I can only dream of a Platinum, Retro and Monolith soft ( for story and Landscape ) studios Metroid WiiU game.

        1. Then let’s make it a symphony, because Shin’en are developing a second generation engine for the WiiU, with two games they are to show and reveal shortly.

        1. Nuxorous we, Kurt, the nintendo commander, alba, Sickr, shadowdragonfly and the others jtz, n-dub, are great minds that think alike, just waiting for the commander to reply and this is a musical festival of the world, this big blue marble:).

          1. The Shin’en Tribe making a new Wii U engine…

Nintendo Retro Studios Facility making a new Wii U engine…

The Crytek Militia exposing their masters for the liars they are and their new engine works for the Wii U…

            Total Nintendomination in our Homeworld…

Jellybean less hostile towards our Empire…

Just read on the tv a show called “Duck Commander”…

Maybe we can create an alliance with ducks too…

What a lovely picture of the near future…

  2. Proof that other developers are lazy and have something against Nintendo. I’m joining the ranks of Nintendo Commander on this one….we will strike back…

  3. Which should i fire at unfriendly PS4 and Xbox One owners when Wii U goes pass 4 million at the end of Q2, Commader? Blue Shells, Red shells, Bullet Bills, Links supply of those bombs, my skyscraper sized Samus’s cannon, Luigis or all of them? Your call.

  4. So let me get this straight. Square Enix says that Kingdom Hearts 3’s engine isn’t compatable with Wii U.

    But this is?

Wow SE, you really are full of s*** these days. Kingdom Hearts 3 would be an excellent system seller, and might possibly get more JRPG’s on Wii U.

  5. I’m a little bit new on the subjetct of a new engine, is this a huge score for nintendo Wii U? will this force any other companies to port their engines to Wii U? which games could possibly use this engine? I would appreaciate if someone answers my doubts, thanks.

    1. It won’t force other companies to port their engines to Wii U per say, but it can and will show that the Wii U can support “high-end” engines leaving the other companies with only one real reason for not supporting and that’s the small install base of the Wii U at this point. As for what games could use Cry engine; Rpgs, shooters, adventure games, action games really any game can use this engine. So i’d say this is a huge score for nintendo and Wii U.

  6. If PS3 is getting next generation engines, what’s the point upgrading to PS4? Basicly they are getting the same games. You can’t trade in your PS3 since those games are only for it. The PS3 may be more of a threat to PS4 than Wii U is.

  7. So EA… would you like the tab now or after you get done eating your sh-t because you just got SERVED

(Sorry just felt like saying this)

  8. engine = MIDDLEWARE NOTHING TO SEE HERE MOVE ON

SHOW ME A WIIU DEDICATED ENGINE THAT CODES TO THE METAL

THEN IL BE IMPRESSED IF WIIU RUNS THIS IMAGINE A TO THE METAL ASSEMBLY LEVEL ENGINE DEDICATED TO THE CONSOLE

STOP FANBOYING MIDDLE-WARE THATS ALL THESE ENGINES ARE MIDDELWARE

CRYENGINE IS COOL BUT IT AINT TO THE METAL COOL WIIU IS A BEAST CLEARLY

GIVE ME HAND WRITEN CODE TO CPU GPU OF WIIU
