Yoshi’s New Island For Nintendo 3DS Footage From Gamescom

Tilmen from Nintendomination has captured some high quality off-screen footage of Yoshi’s New Island for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is the sequel to the 1995 game Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island and the 2006 game Yoshi’s Island DS. It’s due for release exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS sometime in 2014.

Thanks, Micky

      1. You couldnt have even played the game if you think it was shit. Its a FACT that that game was on par with all the best zeldas.

      1. Maybe because you never played Yoshi’s Island before or you did and it never appealed to you.

For me, I’m not sure about Yoshi Wii U adapting Kirby’s yarn style because it worked for Kirby well.

      2. You DEFINITELY haven’t played Yoshi’s Island! It was one of the greatest 2D platformers of all time along with Donkey Kong Country 2, and Super Metroid.

        1. You DEFINITELY haven’t played Yoshi’s Island DS! It was one of the worst 2D platformers of all time along with Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind and Yoshi’s Topsy Turvy.

This game is being developed by former employes from Artoon, who made Yoshi’s Island DS and Yoshi’s Topsy Turvy

I am not excited for this game at all.

  1. Ugh. As much as I love Yoshi, I’ll not buy this. It looks the same as the DS one and it was awful, quite boring and repetitive.

    1. I’d buy it if there were no other games coming out, but Nintendo is releasing sooo many BETTER games soon.

    1. It is a bad time to be releasing a Yoshi game…Honestly I am not a fan of Yoshi games to begin with. I would much rather prefer a 3D open world exploration game with an environment like Mario Sunshine.

  2. Just found out Elder Scrolls Online costs $15 a month!!! What a joke, no one will buy it now. Now I am glad it isn’t coming to Wii U…..

    1. I’ll pay it, only if it means that the game get’s constant upgrades to make it better and better each month.

      1. I looked at the article myself and I don’t think that means “upgrades” apparently that $15 a month thing is suppose to cover what the game already has… I could be mistaken but, it’s not looking good for ESO. It’ll probably go Free to Play in a matter of months. 💋

  3. This game looks beautiful!!! The 3DS is just on a roll with excellent software seemingly coming out on a monthly basis. Nintendo really got it right with the 3DS after all. It’s portable, good value, and powerful enough to pump beautiful visuals for people to enjoy.

    1. my ears are dancing. *dancing* *falls* ooohhhh sorry miss.(thats ok!!!) my weenie seems to have fell into ….into your hole….. maybe they should dance. (ok!!!) *thrust, thrust thrust thrust thrust**thrust, thrust thrust thrust thrust* troll sex is the best!!!! (it feels nice, let them watch!!!! lets make troll kids. (OK ILL TRY!!!!!) this is exactly why im fucking you miss. no your name isnt important. lets start a troll orgy.

(music playing with nasty stench, trolls panting)

  4. Not getting it. I loved the snes version (i actually played the gba remake of it) but this… this shows 0% progress in the game series. I wouldn’t even call it a sequel. It barely even warrants a remake aside from being nearly identical to the original.

    1. Correction: There’s hardly a chance that I’ll get this game. It shows almost no progress with the series and anything that warrants the title “new” (the giant egg and binocular scoping don’t exactly count unless they make into a key gameplay element). Hopefully they’ll show more “new” with this game

  5. guess who’s making it, artoon. they fucking suck!!!! its like copy and paste of the original with taking everything original out of it. what do you expect from nintendo anyway, fresh ideas. no we expect dull grey and near death innovation+ lame gimmicks to cover up nintendo isnt innovative in the slightest of games.

    truth hurts bitches

  6. Looks like the same thing with slightly modified levels and worse graphics, I’ll just replay the original on my GBA SP, thanks

  7. Oh I didn’t realize it was coming out in 2014. Well I guess I won’t blow as much money this year. 2014 is looking to be a great year though with this game, Phoenix Wright vs. Professor Layton, Super Smash Bros., X, Bayonetta 2, and Mario Kart 8.

          1. It’s hard to remember a game that’s only been shown once and doesn’t even have it’s proper title yet!! lol hmmm kinda like Yarn Yoshi…💋

  8. For all those “gamers” that don’t want to give this game a chance. Wow, just wow, y’all like depriving yourselves of classic goodness. This game looks very similar mechanically to Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario World 2. If it ain’t broken, why fix it. Personally, I’m glad that they stuck with the formula.

    1. I played Yoshi’s Island on the DS and…. well the fun didn’t last long and I never beat the game. I don’t even think I got to a single boss battle… (if there were any) 💋

  9. That word “Nintendomination bugs me. I agree that Nintendo dominates, but that word just doesn’t look very professional.

Another thing that always bugged me is this game (although I loved the first one). In Super Mario World, Mario just barely meets Yoshi for the first time. So, how the heck could he have known Yoshi even as a baby? It never made any sense to me whatsoever.

    1. Nintendo is all about fun, leave the seriousness to High Command while we the servants spread and conquer the world for their supremeness…

    2. Baby Mario has become like his own character almost. Like an alternate version of Mario. Hence why All the Baby forms of Mario characters appear in all the sports games. So I’ve just always thought of it as an alternate universe!! 💋
