new_super_mario_bros_2_mario_flying.jpgGerman-based GamesMarkt Magazine has published Europe’s top 20 half-year software sales for 2013, which has led to some surprising results. The table – which you can see here – charts the best-selling games in the all-formats chart from January to June this year, so don’t expect to see Animal Crossing: New Leaf jumping up the chart. However, there are two Nintendo 3DS games that have featured in the top 20 – Luigi’s Mansion 2 places in at number 17 and New Super Mario Bros. 2 joins just behind at number 18. Just Dance 4 – released for Wii and Wii U, as well as Xbox 30 and PlayStation 3 – also features at number 12, but there’s no information relating to how many sold on each platform.

Within the top 10 publishers, Nintendo places second but is pushed out of the top spot by Electronic Arts, with their FIFA 13 game also taking the software chart number one. Nintendo has 11.82 per cent of the software market share, while Sony takes up 8.22 per cent and Microsoft 4.11 per cent. Electronic Arts steals the show though with over 17 per cent of the European market share. The first half of 2013 is devoid of Wii U games but it will be interesting to see what the second half of 2013 will offer up in terms of software sales, especially during the holiday season.

  1. Europeans love their Football, and FIFA. That game alone gobbles up the market.

Having said that, Europeans also like variety. Nintendo’s software share of 11.82% is actually pretty reasonable.

    • The fact that you share your videos here to get attention proves how shit you really are. Good vids usually dont need that much of promotion, just look at Leave britney alone it was succes because it was quality stuff unlike your vids. You need to improve, first of all take that stupid hat off, secondly dont show your face because people dont wanna see it for sure.

  2. Nintendo needs real success for Wii U this Christmas or the public will write it off. I wish Nintendo made it more powerful to break the stigma of having a weaker performing console.
