Nintendo today announced a new edition of Pokémon Direct. The broadcast, hosted by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, will provide news on the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games coming to Nintendo 3DS worldwide on 12th October 2013. The new Nintendo Direct will be streamed from the Nintendo Direct website on 4th September at 1pm CEST (noon, UK time).

With the wii u they had TWO screens [tv and gamepad] better graphics than 3ds,etc. and they haven’t thought of a Wii U pokemon game like X and Y? Makes perfect sense -.- w/e im sticking to nintendo handhelds next time.
It doesn’t make perfect sense. Pokemon is perfectly suited to being handheld (they are pocket monsters, afterall. Game should fit in your pocket). You couldn’t have in-person tournaments if it was on a home console. It’s something you want to be able to bring to a mates place and have a half a dozen of your mates all playing their games at once with a movie on in the background. That’s the magic of Pokemon.
Theres never been a regular pokemon game on consoles. The two gamecube games played different than gba and the n64 games played different than thr gameboy games.
Then you’re not going to be buying a new nintendo home console anymore.
You know the Wii U, and older Nintendo home consoles, has games worth playing that isn’t Pokemon, right?

This is what i like about these Nintendo directs. They come as a surprise when they’re revealed and when they are it’s usually only a day before it airs.

I’m still waiting for a complete list of exclusive Pokemon/features to decide. But if I had to choose now, it will be Pokemon Y.
Yeah i like the Y legendary a lot more. Though if its like X/Y you will get the opposite legendary (first game). further details would help i guess. Tommorow might clear things up betweem version differences.
X because it’s going to shit on the Y one.
Hope we have a normal Direct this month too.

Wow, a Nintendo Direct speaking about Pokémon… Like we hadn’t have enough yet… Nintendo should really focus on games with potential people still don’t know about, like Bravely Default, Wonderful 101 and so on…
They are far too much speaking about franchises everybody already know. No wonder gamers are bored about Zeldas, Marios and shit.
People like things that are familiar. That’s why Nintendo keeps having Directs over Mario, Zelda and Pokemon because they always sell.
… And I am the first to buy a good ol’ Zelda, a Mario or a Pokémon.
But still, I think they should do a better promotion on new titles instead of completly focusing on IPs we already know for years and years now, which are known as part of the best franchises ever made and which would sell millions and millions of copies anyways.
