Shin’en Claims It’s Not The Hardware’s Fault If Devs Can’t Create Good Looking Wii U Games

Nintendo senkt Gewinnprognose

Vocal Wii U supporters Shin’en have told HD Warriors that it’s not the hardware’s fault if developers can’t create gorgeous Wii U titles. Shin’en developer Manfred Linzner told the publication in-depth information regarding the specifications of the console, which you can read below.

“The Wii U eDRAM has a similar function as the eDRAM in the XBOX360. You put your GPU buffers there for fast access. On Wii U it is just much more available than on XBOX360, which means you can render faster because all of your buffers can reside in this very fast RAM. On Wii U the eDRAM is available to the GPU and CPU. So you can also use it very efficiently to speed up your application.”

“The 1GB application RAM is used for all the games resources. Audio, textures, geometry, etc. Theoretical RAM bandwidth in a system doesn’t tell you too much because GPU caching will hide a lot of this latency. Bandwidth is mostly an issue for the GPU if you make scattered reads around the memory. This is never a good idea for good performance.”

“I can’t detail the Wii U GPU but remember it’s a GPGPU. So you are lifted from most limits you had on previous consoles. I think that if you have problems making a great looking game on Wii U then it’s not a problem of the hardware.”

Thanks to those who sent this in.

          1. Their is not a low specs limmit to say what is next gen or not ps4 and Xbox one are just more power next gen systems.
Examples: wiiu = next gen console.
Ps4 and Xbox one = even more powerful next gen console.
            Newer tech= next gen.
gpgpu (wich the 3 consoles have)=next gen.

              1. Weak and not being has powerful has the other new consoles are not the same. Wiiu is not weak it just not has powerful has a ps4 cuz the xbone is kind of weak in his own merits.

                1. I doubt very much that you know anything about hardware and yet you are talking an an awful lot about it. For starters. You should know that the wiiU Cpu cache size per core is double that of the ps4 or 360.

            1. Huh ? I’m aware that newer tech is considered next Gen. I’m definition its next Gen but in reality alot of devs don’t consider it next Gen. To me tho its weak next Gen which is why I would consider it last Gen tech even if it’s newer

              1. It’s “weak” Next gen “spec” wise but that means nothing when it comes to what we all mean by “generation”…

                    1. You all can’t read properly and can’t refute my main point so I guess you’re all trolls ? Logic at its best. Your all just fanboys in deniel like in other articles

                    2. your main point was that it’s not next gen.. which is complete bullshit
GPGPU, touchscreen controller, much improved networking/entertainment abilities and by comparison more powerful GPU than last gen’s are what makes it a next gen console.. what xbox one and ps4 deliver does not change that

              2. i dont think you understand us here bro… we are talking about the specs itself, not by order of release of the console. :) peace…. BUT WII U STILL HAS NEXT GEN TECH and i know you agree with me with that ;)

                1. Its weak next Gen specs man stop being a fanboy. I know you love Nintendo and wii U but the reality is Wii U is a weak next Gen console which is why devs don’t want to work on it. Other than sales its because it’s not that powerful and 360,ps3 can achieve the same thing as wii U and give them more money

                  1. huh? i play all consoles. and i even play my pc most of the time since i finished my wii u games. just chill bro. thats not cool. im just stating facts

                    1. Yea sure anyway I’m aware its next Gen for lime the 3RD time. I’m saying it’s weak next Gen and weak compared to X1, ps4 facts

                      1. even though it’s weak Next-Gen games can still look as good, take need for speed for instant and if Nintendo or other devs pump out games on the similar level as GTA 5, uncharted and last of us(which ive play and own)that i know wiiu can easily do and more then im more then satisfy on its performance. :)

                  2. Did you say the Xbox 360 & PS3 can achieve what the Wii U can do? Then how is the Wii U capable of rendering a technically demanding game like Bayonetta 2 in native 1080p while the Xbox 360 & PS3 can’t?

                  3. @ you thought

ok this is going to be a long comment so I apologize in advance but bear with me.

ok first off, the wii u’s power has absolutely nothing to do with devs not making games for it. It has everything to do with the wii u not selling well. They don’t want to make games for it right now because they aren’t going to make enough money. The wii u can run the newest game engine from crytek, can run unreal engine 4, can run frostbite 3, and can run dx11, it has been done by a developer, so the wii u can run the graphics engines that are going to be used in the ps4/xbone, in other words it is not a hardware thing. I guarantee you that if the wii u’s had been flying off of the shelves this year and the install base was 8-10 million and growing instead of 3.5 to 4 million then all of these third party devs would absolutely be making their games for the wii u as well. It is ALL about the money for devs, they could care less about hardware spec as long as the system they are working on can run the graphics engines that they are using which the wii u can. If there is an opportunity to make money then they will make games for the wii u. Second, the xbox 360 and ps3 cannot achieve the same thing as wii u, LMFAO, not even close. Let me break it down for you. Xbox 360 has 512 mb of ddr2, wii u has 2gb of ddr3 (the same ddr3 in the xbone just less), xbox 360 uses an IBM 3 core cpu with 11 mb of non unified eDRAM, meaning it is only available to the cpu not the gpu, it is also an in order execution cpu which causes huge bottlenecks, the wii u uses a power 7 IBM 3 core cpu that is significantly more powerful than the one in the 360 and has 38 mb of UNIFIED eDRAM (same amount as the xbone except the xbones is not unified) meaning the ram is available for the cpu and gpu in the wii u, and the wii u cpu is an out of order execution cpu which means it can process information as it is ready instead of that info having to wait for info in front of it to be processed first which significantly improves performance (the xbone and ps4 both use out of order excecution as well) And now to the point that makes the biggest difference in graphics, the gpu. The xbox 360 uses an amd gpu that has 48 stream processors, and no that is not a typo, it literally has 48 stream processors, the wii u uses a heavily modified gpgpu from amd which has between 500-600 stream processors (the xbone has 750 stream processors), it is important to note that the gpgpu is significantly better than a standard gpu which the 360/ps3 have because the gpgpu in the wii can process info that is normally only able to be processed by the cpu, so in other worlds the gpgpu in the wii u can take some burden off of the cpu by processing physics and such to eliminate bottlenecks.

                    To summarize:
                    Wii u XBOX 360
500-600 stream processors 48 stream processors
                    2gb ddr3 512mb ddr2
38 mb unified eDRAM 11mb non unified eDRAM
out of order excecution cpu in order excecution cpu

Bottom line is the architecture of the wii u is waaay more similar to the xbone than it is the xbox 360. Meaning that it will be significantly easier for devs to port a game to the wii u from the xbone than the xbox 360. The wii u uses an out of order excecution cpu, the xbone uses an out of order cpu, the wii u used 38 mb of super fast eDRAM, the xbone uses 38 mb of super fast eDRAM, the wii u has between 500-600 stream processors, the xbone uses 750 stream processors, the wii u uses ddr3 system ram, the xbone uses ddr3 system ram. The fact that the xbone uses an 8 core cpu and 8gb of ddr3 and the wii u uses a 3 core cpu and 2 gb of ddr3 isn’t that big of a deal. I will give you an example, my old gaming pc was using an old amd 4 core cpu and 4gb of old ddr2 memory, I was running a high end gpu though so I was getting really good gaming performance, the witcher 2 on high was getting between 45-60 fps. I have since upgraded my pc and am now using amd’s newest FX 8 core cpu with 8 gb of 1866 ddr3, but I am using the same gpu, and guess what? my fps in game are EXACTLY THE SAME 45-60. The new 8 core cpu and 8 gb of newer faster ram made zero difference. My point is that the wii u is using a gpu that is comparable to the xbox one (which is the most important thing), so porting to the wii u wont be difficult at all, the wii u isnt using some exotic architecture like the ps3 that is going to have to make devs re code the entire game. The amount of ram and numer of cpu cores will have ZERO effect on in game performance as long as the cpu and ram is fast enough to not bottleneck the system, which it is thanks to the 38mb of UNIFIED eDRAM, and the gpgpu being able to take an overburden off of the cpu. The reason that devs have been saying the ps4 is 40% more powerful than the xbone is because the ps4 is using a gpu that has nearly 1200 stream processors to the xbones 750, the ddr5 vs ddr3 and the cpu’s are a complete wash because the xbone is using the super fast eDRAM to make up for any latency issues produced by the ddr3 so the same goes for the wii u, the cpu is fast enough and the ddr3 memory in conjunction with the 38 mb of super fast unified eDRAM is enough, and is fast enough, so the only issue is gpu performance which the wii u’s is slightly less than the xbones. So to sum up, the wii u can run anything and everything that is multiplat to the 3 systems (PS4, XBONE, and WII U) with just slightly downgraded visuals, example, slightly shorter draw distance, slightly less particle effects, AA running at x4 instead of x8, basically things that you will NEVER notice unless you are comparing direct side by side images of the games running on the different platforms. Also the xbox 360 and ps3 CANNOT run a single game at native 1080p and 60fps, the wii u runs ALL of its games at native 1080p and 60fps. It takes around 16mb of eDRAM to produce 1080p, so it is completely impossible for the 360 to produce the same graphical quality as the wii u, period. Exclusives to the ps4 are a different story, because they are going to be trying to get every last bit of performance out of the system( example, naughty dogs the last of us on ps3) where with multiplats the devs try and give the same experience across all platforms.

I hope this clears it up, I am not a Nintendo fanboy, but I am a tech junky and am bringing facts to the table and there has been a ton of false info being spread about the wii u’s power that simply isn’t true. I am not saying the wii u is some powerhouse because it is not. But neither are the other 2 next gen consoles. Bottom line is the wii u is going to have some graphically stunning games in the future, games that would have been impossible to run on the 360/ps3. So yes, the wii u IS a next gen console. And mark my words, once there is a larger install base for the wii u there will be a lot of third party games that come to wii u and will look great and graphically comparable to the xbone and ps4 versions. Like I said, the games wont look quite as good on wii u but the difference will be minimal, and since the wii u comes with a game for $299 and the xbone is $560 with a game (almost double the price) the wii u will be just fine and is a great deal. The Wii U will prove in time how graphically capable it is, and the only reason the install base is small is because of the lack of games, which will no longer be the case in the next couple months, plus in 2014 you have Mario kart, smash bros, beyonetta 2, X, and possibly the first next gen Zelda. By Christmas time 2014 the wii u I would be willing to bet that the wii u will have a comparable install base to the ps4 and xbox one, and people spelling the doom and gloom now for the wii u will have been proven wrong. Sorry for the loooong rant! Again, I am no fanboy, being a fanboy is completely ridiculous, I have never understood that mentality. Just play games, I mean who cares which platform you prefer. Everyone plays games to have fun, so if you have fun playing on xbox then buy an xbox, if you have fun playing Nintendo exclusives then buy a wii u, or be like me and buy all of the systems and enjoy the exclusives that all the consoles have to offer.

            2. ps3 and xbox 360 doesnt use gpgpu and rely much on the cpu. gpgpu computing is next gen tech bro. it performs more efficiently

              1. Lol if you say so man. The whole point is devs consider it last Gen tech which is why ps4, X1 will get the most treatment this time around by devs because of how similar they are to PC tech and how strong they are unlike the Wii U. To them its weak.

                1. weaker than xbox one and ps4 but stronger than ps3 and xbox 360. thats just what i mean. wii u is somewhere in between them, and since there is no next 0.5 gen, get the ceiling value instead, which gives us REAL next gen… BTW i just noticed, ps3 and xbox 360 are last gen, wii u is current gen and ps4, xbox one are upcoming consoles for this gen. :p

                  1. The main point as stated before. Wii U is weak next Gen and won’t attract devs because it’s so weak compared to ps4, xbone. Sorry that facts upset you fanboys that are In denial

                    1. you really dont get me dont you? i said wii u is weaker than xbox one and ps4 by a large margin and i know that. this is an established fact! i said it is next gen compared to xbox 360 and ps3. come on man! chill!

            3. Nor next generation specs but you can’t even tell me the specs in Wii U gpupu and its been available for people to find that info for 10 months. That’s next generation hardware.

            4. Just because a new model Ford Focus doesn’t have the same horse power as a new model Ford Mustang doesn’t disqualify it as a new model or next generation of that model. Jeffrey Jordan is the next-generation from Michael Jordan. Is he better than his dad at basketball? Nope. Is he even close? Nope.

Only idiots surmise that the Wii U is not next-gen because it doesn’t have the same horsepower as the XBOX One and PS4. The PS2 lacked the horsepower of the Gamecube and XBOX. Does that mean it was not 5th gen? Certainly didn’t hurt it in the sales department. Best-selling home console of all-time. The N64 ruined the Saturn and PS1 in terms of horsepower. Does that mean that the N64 was the only 4th gen console and the PS1 and Saturn were still 3rd gen? Not ONE console war was won by the most powerful console. Not at home, or on portable. Period.

What Shin’en Games is saying is that the extra horsepower is not necessary in order to make games above and beyond the 7th gen.

And taking into account that the Wii U has more confirmed titles running in native 1080p at 60FPS than the PS4 and XBOX One combined and that developers are struggling to even get 720p and 60FPS (or in the case of Killzone: Shadowfall to even get it locked down to 30FPS at 720p while using 3GB of RAM) simply throwing horsepower doesn’t make better games.

Sony and Microsoft basically designed their consoles like PCs. It’s as straight-forward as you are going to get and yet developers are coming out of the woodwork saying how they are already reaching limits. The Wii U GPGPU has barely even been touched yet and already it is producing games in full native 1080p and 60FPS.

It’s not about the hardware, it’s about the people that are using the hardware. If you put Grandma behind the wheel of a DW12 IndyCar and in the middle of a race…..let’s just say things would not work out too well. If you put an experienced driver like Tony Kannan or Helio Castroneves behind the wheel and they can do magic.

What Shin’en is saying here is that developers are just being lazy. Nintendo built the Wii U in a way that it could produce games that look far better than the 7th gen with a lot less horsepower. They designed an efficient and elegant system that has a mountain of untapped potential.

              1. Really liked your comment!

And even though xbox one is powerfull it still is miles away from pc’s.

So the real logic is not graphics, but what games you want to play, my anwser is wii u games because they innovate compared to pc games. f.e. what’s the point of buying battlefield on xbone when you can have a prettier, cheaper(31 pounds) and better(controls) version on pc..

Powerfull PC + Wii u is the best combo.

we just need more games on wii u, the power has never been a problem.

PS: I would really like to play Quantum Break, hope it comes to pc afterwards like alan wake.

                1. The only problem is that only a handful of developers will ever really tap the Wii U’s potential because society as a whole is become lazier and looks for as many short-cuts as possible. I’m not immune to that either. It’s our human nature. We know that 1st party title from Nintendo are going to blow people’s socks off. Just looking at early gen games like Mario Kart 8 and Pikmin 3 are amazing enough.

I don’t even want to think of how the next Zelda is gonna be. They came right out and said that it is gonna take some years to develop. That means they plan to put some stank on it!

                  1. Agreed, microsoft and sony buy off exclusives, because their consoles are similar and their first party catalogue is not as big as Nintendo, so people get a different view on what happens.

Nintendo should buy some western developpers and create new ip’s.

              2. Yeah, because if you look closely at Super Mario 3D World you can see the polygon count is much better than recent Wii U titles, plus, look at Mario Kart 8. It looks like a PS4/Xbox One game but it doesn’t need much power run it and it still gets a good 60fps while staying 1080p natively.

I believe the Wii U might be tougher than we think

                1. I would go so far as to say that Mario Kart 8 looks BETTER than any XBOX One or PS4 game ***OF IT’S KIND*** and I need to make that distinction.

Obviously Mario Kart 8 doesn’t look better than Battlefield 4, Destiny, or Infamous: Second Son, but does it look better than Knack? I think so. Does it look better than Kingdom Hearts 3? I think it looks at least as good if not better. The point is that the fact that the Wii U has 1st generation games in the same neighborhood is proof that it is prime-time material.

                  1. Actually Kingdom Hearts 3 and Knack have different are styles, plus in Knack there are over 5,000 objects on Knack himself that is being rendered in real time in the game so really in terms of graphics Knack kind of looks better than Mario Kart 8, though I’d say it does look better than Battlefield 4 which to be honest looks the same as BF3 which isn’t a good thing. I’ve already gotten a Wii U and I love it, can’t wait to get the PS4.

                    1. It’s really sad that even after typing in bold face “OF IT’S KIND” someone comes along and tries to games with two COMPLETELY different artstyles to say one looks better than the other. I expected as much.

                      1. that makes no sense, of course mario kart looks great in its simplistic art style, it even looked good on wii, that type of games don’t need that much horsepower.

wondering if it was 1080p though.

              3. You nailed it right there bro’ !!!

                diminishing returns and all that

I’m just so bored with the horsepower pissing contests and how video games have lost all the imagination and invention that got me into them in the first place.

              4. I think its more of a case that nintendo games are by design not using ultra high rez textures and super high poly counts, nor are most of them using the latest graphics engines, that is just by design on most of those games.

On ps4/xb1, developers are expecting top-end pc like performance, but if they’re lazy with their optimizations, they will be very disappointed no matter how high that ceiling is.

                1. At least not what we have seen so far. Nintendo doesn’t really dive into the ultra photo-realistic art style on games which is a folly in my estimation because they could probably do it better than anyone else. Just looking at Pikmin 3 which started off as a Wii game and how good it looks and how Mario Kart 8 looks like CGI shows what Nintendo is capable of doing if they tried. The problem is they feel that the art styles they choose are the only style gamers want are aren’t really interested in doing anything else.

A Zelda game even done in the artstyle shown at E3 2011 would end every graphic debate FOREVER. We’ll see what happens when we see the first footage of the game.

            5. It’s because of people like you the world education system is falling. WiiU is more powerful than PS3 and xbox360, last generation consoles. Wii was a last generation console, so the WiiU is next generation :).

    1. Well the Wii U games so far don’t look all that but maybe if developers used all the cores and ram you can get some great looking games

      1. Will ignoring Xboxone struggling at 1080p 60fps. Yet you want to play dumb as if Wii U hasn’t already releases many games with the specs you don’t believe are powerful enough to make it next generation. Ignoring Wii U is getting Cry engine 4 and can handle DX11.

        1. Ignoring that the MASS of something like battle field 4 is difficult to achieve 1080p, 60fps when not using the systems full power. If any of the xbone or ps4 games got ported to Wii U the Wii U would blow up trying to fit battle field 4 on it. It would have to be a VERY nerfed version to be on Wii U.

            1. So Mass needs 6 cores for 1080p with 3.5gigs to do 1080p. Yet Wii U has 1gb barely using 3 cores and has already done 1080p. Lol. Wow.

            2. The Wii U games that are 1080p 60fps are games like nsmb where anyone can get that to 1080p 60fps. I wanna see Wii U run battlefield 4 online 60fps 720p and 64 players. Wii U would explode as stated before

              1. Wii U could probably handle that. Unless you got the info on the mystery GPUPU. Millions want to know. And if don’t have the info, how you know what Wii U can or can’t handle if you don’t know its specs?

              2. you sir need to be educated. battlefield 4 can run on wii u and very efficiency well. ps4 and xb1 uses bruteforce, thats why the bottleneck and failing to achieve 1080p. The HD twins are made for multitasking and pc like operations…..while the wii u is made purely for gaming….its a gaming machine and is VERY EFFICIENT!!!

        2. Wii U and PS4 will be the most loved systems this next gen. PS4 can play a game that uses voxels and still get a 60fps at 1080p yet the Xbox One is struggling at 900p to get 60fps

    2. I’m getting really tired of this power talk. I think devs and pubs should just concentrate on making good and fun games. If the gameplay is tight and responsive and if the level design is good, then graphics are just a bonus to make the game a true masterpiece.

              1. Ryse is a nice looking game the thing I hate about it is that it looks like a onrails beat em up with quick time events.

    3. This pretty much outlines the laziness of most developers. The technology in the Wii U is next-gen whether people like it or not. On the flipside, apparently developers are having trouble with the powerhouses, claiming that they’re already approaching the limit with their games. You can’t say that’s a hardware issue there, because both the PS4 and XO’s architecture are PC-based. Most mid-end PCs nowadays outclass them comfortably.

Maybe the real reason lies in the airs the media’s putting on. Perhaps this next generation shift won’t last 10 years, but maybe only 3 or 4. Just a thought.

      1. “The technology in the Wii U is next-gen whether people like it or not. ” that’s for dqmn sure. System has been available for professionals to open it up and 10 monthsllater they have no new info since February inside Wii U. That’s a shame for professionals to then just have to guess what the 30% of unknown data is for.

      2. The reason why the media is pushing that sentiment that the 8th gen will last a decade is because both Microsoft and Sony NEED it to last that long and they are using their vast resources to create spin. As we know Nintendo doesn’t need to make another dime for 30 years and could LOSE $250 mil a year and still not go bankrupt.

Yes, developers are very lazy but I think there is more going on than that. It costs a lot of money to make games nowadays and even with all the school with programs and degrees in game animation of development there is a scarce pool of talented ready-to-go artists and developers out there to hire because most companies have totally unrealistic expectations for employment. That means those positions by and large remain unfilled. So these companies don’t have the capital, resources, and manpower to spend a whole lot of time on game development. They need to get games done and out the door ASAP in order to keep the lights on and that is why we get so much ‘cut and paste’ in the game industry nowadays. We are only going to see true innovation in games from the 1st party studios of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Maybe every once in awhile from a 3rd party.

What I find puzzling from Microsoft is that even though Double-Helix is a 3rd party developer, Microsoft has their hands all over Killer Instinct and yet they can’t get it running at native 1080p at 60FPS. Money, resources, and manpower certainly is not an issue there. That’s a MAJOR 1st party next-gen title that is struggling to keep up with what was achieved last gen. Same goes for Killzone: Shadowfall. I still can’t grasp the fact that this game supposedly uses 3GB of RAM. Sony threw that in everyone’s face like it was so special. Immediately I saw how dire of a statement that was. Killzone: Shadowfall looks very good but nowhere near as good as Battlefield 4 which uses considerably less RAM than that. Not only that, they can’t even lock it down to 30FPS, much less 60FPS. And this is using 3GB of GDDR5 RAM??????

        *smh*

I’ve been vocal about Nintendo and they foolish mistakes and they were foolish, but even with all that has gone wrong for Nintendo they still have a chance to bust this thing WIDE OPEN this holiday season. To me it seems like Sony and Microsoft bought into the troll-hype rather than study history. They let the trolls tell them what was necessary to win the 8th gen instead of them using common sense and looking at history to see how console wars are won.

        1. First off, you are misinformed, killzone shadow fall is native 1080p at 60fps for the multi player, and so far they have said the single player is running above 30fps, and they are pushing for 60fps in single player too, so that’s straight from the developer guerilla games, the killzone demo which was first unvieled was analysed by digital foundry and they said it ran a rock solid 30fps which would lead them to believe its capable of a higher frame rate, so why your saying they could barely achieve 30fps is beyond me!

Either way PS4 is more powerful then both xbox1 and wii u, that is fact, but that doesn’t mean games wont come out on all 3 platforms which look and run great!
More ram does not equal better frame rate etc but what it does mean is higher res textures, more things the said system can do simultaneously, and bigger worlds, less loading etc

I have my PS4 pre ordered and i have my wii u, and every console from the last 30 or so years, i also game on my pc too, i find the kids who cant afford all platforms are the ones who get stuck up on numbers/power etc

And i agree that most likely this coming generation will not last 10years, no generation technically has lasted that long, yes you could carry on playing ps2 while ps3 launched, but get real which serious core gamer done that?
Not many i presume, either way we are now starting to see the law of diminishing returns kick in, for the average gamer, they cant tell the difference between PS4 and PS3 games, core gamers who own all platforms can like us!

I still have friends who cant tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps LOL!
and thats why none of this rubbish about which system is more powerful matters,
and i agree with you that it is worrying that developers are not able to achieve native 1080p at 60fps easily on supposed next gen platforms!
since i have been 1080p gaming over 10yrs on my pc LOL!

I love console gaming for the exclusives that is all that matters, its why i buy every platform, the games its all about the games, and nintendo is at fault for not having killer apps which blow peoples socks off, at launch, and no game pad proof of concept! this is why wii u is struggling nothing more nothing less, i love my wii u, it has design flaws, like no Ethernet, no proper hard drive, and every wii u should have come with a pro controller etc
But it is a great system, and is powerful, playing games like last of us, and then contemplating that wii u is more powerful then a PS3 gives me hope that we will see and play some amazing stuff on wii u!

I HATE WHAT GAMING HAS BECOME, Microsoft came into it, and monetised everything, and have raped the industry, they gave the third parties too much power, and now its us gamers who are paying the price, just look at what they tried to pull with the drm crap, and always online etc, but when Sony didn’t do it, they were left in a bad position, and the ps4 pre orders were owning them and so they were forced to back track, but i wouldnt put it past them they could easily implement the bullshit once the install base has gone up for x1, it says so in every terms and conditions they can change it at any time!
And after knowingly selling faulty hard ware with the xbox3FixME i dont trust them at all, any gamer who buys xbox1 at launch is a fool!

    4. it’s not about the hardware’s performance, it’s about the console not selling enough and that will always be the reason until things change. the wiiu was never created to compete with tvbox1 and ps4 in terms of power.

      1. True. Dumb fanboys here would disagree tho and say it can compete and the Wii U is on the same level as X1/ps4 in terms of power. Which is FALSE

        1. No one is saying that Wii U is on the same level as X1/PS4 specs wise. What people are saying is that Wii U is not underpowered and that’s a fact.

        2. Same level as xbone 1 and ps4? When it comes to power nope. When it comes to SSB, DK, Zelda, X, and other unknown games Wii U is above and beyond.I’m not paying $500 for a Roku Set top box I mean Xboxone.

        3. It doesn’t really matter who has the most “power” anymore. It’s gotten to the point where games on the Wii U, Xbox One and PS4 will all pretty much look the same… They can all run 1080p at 60fps…thats all that really matters.

What Shin’en is saying is, if someone can’t get their game to run at 1080p at 60 fps on the Wii U then it is NOT the Wii U’s fault. It is the developer’s fault for basically not knowing how to work with the Wii U.

      2. Wii U not selling well is not the main reason why they don’t develop for Wii U. Wii sold like hot cakes and they all ignored the Wii. 3DS is selling like crazy and yet some 3rd party devs don’t wanna develop for it. It has nothing to do with the install base either. The real reason is politics, most 3rd party publishers have something against Nintendo.

    5. Shin’en are pretty talented though. But it’s true, you need to put effort in. That’s why game that look like MGSV are on PS3, put the effort it, and you know what you’re doing, no problems.

        1. True, but everything needs effort to work. The sad thing is that if you get cough not putting effort in your product the sells will reflect that. Look at Indies each and everyone of the Indie titles shows that those developers have put effort in the games and it has been rewarded with sales.

      1. True words! Also people are more concerned about how much dots your game is displaying on a TV than what the game is about. I saw battlefield 4 and while is cool locking the only new thing is bringing is how bigger building collapses and how much the wind move the vegetation.

    6. I’ll be the first to say that PS4 and Xboned don’t look that much better than PS3 or 360. People are blinded by fanboyism.

      1. I agree with marthfaceguy, the PS4 doesn’t look “that” much better than PS3 and same goes for Xbox One compared to Xbox 360. On the other hand the Wii U is a HUGE graphical leap from the Wii. So for us Nintendo fans, it is a much greater improvement.

      2. Yeah….. You probably haven’t actually played one in person. Videos on your computer do not compare with the actual gameplay. It might not be a leap like PS2 to PS3, but they are considerably better looking games.

    7. Shin’en is basically saying that most 3rd party devs are lazy and haters. They don’t want to spend time and money making gorgeous looking Wii U games. Their lame excuse for not developing for Wii U is the “small” install base and the “weak” hardware. And the saddest thing about it is that most gamers believe these to be the real reasons why they don’t develop for Wii U. Gamers are so ignorant.

      1. the small install base is certainly one of reasons
because it is.. you know… small
roughly 4 million units in 10 months isn’t much by any means
can only hope it will pick up

    8. Tell that to Nintendo because they have yet to make an HD game with a high poolygon count and no Pikmin doesnt count W101 and Lego City look better than NSMBU and Windwaker thats for sure.

        1. http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=222

Pikmin doesn’t count because even thought its 1080p and pretty the polygons are very simple which means they use big sphers and cubes etc etc They choose not to make a lot of details in the game because those games are harder and more expensive to make. Even theit 2 big games coming out next MK8 and SSBU have low polygon count but at least its a step up from windwaker and pikmin. Also Nintendo needs to take lessons from Platinum and Monolith so they can learn how to make use of their own hardware.

          1. If a game looks great, why bother with so much unnecessary expensive details?…

What impact do details have on how much anyone enjoys a game?…

            1. Personally I enjoy when I developer takes time to make a game really detailed and pretty . The X game for wii u looks amazing. I just appreciate the effort developers take to make beautiful game because i know how long and hard it must’ve taken.

              1. I agree BUT what we, most Nintendo fans argue with is that Sonyans in particular believes that graphics is what makes a game great no matter how bad the gameplay is which is wrong…

                1. I don’t think anyone truly believes that graphics are the only thing that matter.

Still, depending on the game, good graphics can be a very important aspect. Generally though, it’s about the whole package – gameplay, story (if applicable), graphics, etc. The experience.

          2. the polygons are very simple? really? you do realize that polygons in games are always simple right? they have 3-4 edges.. *very* rarely 5

the poly counts in the new smash brothers and mario kart are just fine from what i’ve seen

      1. And yet WW HD sells are through the roof and NSMBU sold over a million units. And KI for xbone struggled at 780p 60fps. And another xbone game has 900p 30fps all on a next generation console.

    9. The Wiiu is 100% a next gen console. It’s a next gen console that is weaker than its rivals, but one that has an amazing controller and more than enough capability to provide Jaw dropping games for the next 5 years. Games that look like X, Mario Kart 8, Zelda tech demo etc.

      1. These ignorant baboons will never accept any logical statement unless the words “Playstation” or “Xbox” are mentioned…

        1. Indeed. The PS4 and Xbone are great and all, but what’s so next gen about them ? Kinnect 2.0 , Ryse running at 900p 30fps ? The Xbone and PS4 were over estimated by the fanboys. This time last year they were claiming the PS4 will be able to do 4K resolution at 60fPS LMAO!!!

          1. The Ryse information is just so hilarious and pathetic…

            That’s the Xbox Done’s power?…

            Ahahahahahahah…

4K resolution, I bet they were so high up in the sky they couldn’t see the ground even if they had a telescope…

But indeed, both of those consoles are so overestimated that it’s just laughable…

It’s as if they don’t even know PCs exists…

              1. In other words it’s not a defense, it’s another pointless media gimmick that has zero things to do with games…

                  1. you should probably ask that question again in 3-4 years

full HD TVs used to be just as expensive

however i’m not saying it’s a very useful feature.. because in truth 4K as a whole isn’t a useful feature.. you’d need an 80″+ sized TV to make any real use of it with normal eyesight and at normal viewing distances.. any eye specialist worth his salt will confirm you that
and who’s got the room for that? or the money because 80″ TVs will always be expensive…

a pointless gimmick you can use to show off to your friends if you ask me

                    1. Yea but people who just bought HD tvs and 3D tvs are probably in no rush to get another new tv for at least another 7-10 years. TVs are not something people just buy every 2 years, lets be serious.

                      1. you could have said the same about the introduction of HD TVs
yet still they had a very fast adoption rate

time will tell how popular 4K TVs will be i guess

              2. Movies? Why not use those 8 cores and 3.5 gigs to do for 4k on games? So far PS4/Xbox ain’t really doing what Wii U hasn’t already did. Sad thing is Wii U only has 1gb and 3 cores doing 1080p. Nothing really from PS4 or Xbox which was hype.

                1. Although I have explained it several times over, you still don’t seem to understand the functions of and differences between the CPU and GPU, nor the features that are on these systems, because for the past few months, you keep preaching about “8 cores” not doing anything for the systems graphically.

                  1. Hey if PS4/xbone trolls keep on bragging about power, i’m going to hold their specs accountable as why they ain’t pushing 1080p.

            1. I take it you are referring to the fact that they are literally part of a new generation of gaming hardware like the wiiu. That’s pretty much the only factor that determines what gen they are lol. Everything else means nothing…. or at least has nothing to do with defining generation.

    10. I’m quite interested in the eDRAM.
Nintendo is managing to pull off 1080p at 60fps, which is something the infamous neoGAF articles on the CPU and GPU said wouldn’t be probable for “advanced 3D games.”
If the frame buffers gain that much speed from being kept in eDRAM interconnected with the CPU and GPU, which are after all on the same die, then maybe Nintendo went and did the smart thing again performance wise.

      1. The only problem I see( objective true reasoning of my opinion ) is that Nintendo just needed a bit more cores CPU and at least 1.5g of memory for game developing apart from that the system is a beast.

        1. Lol, ignoring that one Wii U core is more powerful that 2 PS4 cores. Also ignoring that if a Wii U game used 3 cores, it barely used it. Most games used 1.5/3 cores with 1080p yet Mass effect needs 6 cores to get 1080p.

          1. i haven’t ignored but imagine how much Nintendo could do with a bit more unlike those xbotx that supposedly have a more powerful next gen console.

            1. Putting together gaming PC is not the same has building a console so go back to the Texas instruments assembly line.

        2. rofl

wtf are you talking about a bit more cores…you mean they shouldnt have went for a cheapass cpu..
and 1.5GBram that doesnt make sense….if you want to have a game ala skyrim or whatever you need RAM to buffer your assets…not a measly 1.5GB.

you´re just talking out of your ass, trying to justify 7 year old hardware.

also why are people comparing 108060fps mario bros to a 108060fps killzone for example.. its incomparable..

      2. Our empire always tries to use technology as efficient and cost effective as possible while the other 2 just loves to shove everything up their machine no matter how inefficient it is and claims it is a powerhouse…

Atleast we have better games and cheaper bills!

    11. There right. Look at who cared about developing for Wii U- Criterion gave a shit, Need for Speed MW looks lovely; Nintendo gave a shit, Pikmin looks gorgeous and Platinum gave a shit, Wonderful 101 looks amazing. You put in the work and the results show it

    12. I can’t believe that people are still arguing what generation the Wii U is in. It was always in the “next-gen” (or rather this gen now really) because of release cycles. Technology has nothing to do with it. The PS3 is much more powerful than the 360 but no-one has ever questioned whether they’re in the same “generation” of video game consoles.

    13. The issue is only low sales. Anyway, I think what Linzner said below about Nano Assault is impressive:
“…As ‘Nano Assault Neo’ never had a problem running at 60fps (including a 2nd screen rendering at 60fps on the GamePad) we didn’t have to do that kind of optimizations back then. For CPU usage ‘Nano Assault Neo’ only used the main CPU core. The two other cores were almost idle, beside a few percent used for our audio thread. So all in all ‘Nano Assault Neo’ only used a fraction of the currently available resources on Wii U and looks and plays quite nice. And for the future, don’t forget that in many consoles, early in their life cycle, not all resources were already useable or accessible via the SDK (Software Development Kit). So we are sure the best is yet to come for Wii U.’

    14. I just wish more games were on it, I’m sorry but as a primaraly PC gamer when it comes to indie titles, I ignore 75% of the indie titles, on wii u, Nintendo, it’s time to start forgetting outside devs, and focus on making new ip’s, NEW ip’s not more Mario or Zelda games. I like mario and zelda, but even you should know the importance of new ip’s, it’s your own exclusive IP’s that make you who you are, nobody buys a Nintendo console to play call of duty, they get it for mario, zelda, metroid games, Pikmin is a good start, it revived an older franchise, but it’s time you MASHEDPOTATOPENISINTHEFRIDGE the small toad cat sideways with my urethra or you won’t sell many more consoles.

          1. Me neither…

The only thing that comes to mind is that people might see it as the same category as Pikmin 3 and considering they were released pretty close to each other, maybe many passed on it…

      1. They say it can even run on phones! But engines are not measure of a system power. Engines are just coding shortcuts for what a console is capable.

    15. WiiU next generation gaming console. The only one one shall need for great games. The PS4 should be your second console in June 2014.

CryEngine 4 runs on the WiiU, a more powerful engine than the measly unreal4 and frostbite3.

      1. no ones debating weather it would run it, its not selling enough units systems/games, its not third parties job to sell the system lmao

    16. GAMES will make difference and for now … nothing attracting me to buy a PS4. Maybe in 5 years after fallout 4 and a new elderscrolls NOT ONLINE… but even thoses two will be on PC so .. damn i’m so glad to have my Wii U… so happy…

    17. Next Generation Consoles are consoles released together in the same period of time. Next Gen Tech would means technology that their previous console did not have and the new console does. I feel bad for the term “Next Generation”.

      1. Seems like I’m not the only one that feels that way… Just searched with the keywords “next gen” in this post…. a bit too many results if you ask me. People are breathing it out like oxygen!

    18. This is the problem, like PS3 did making a different kind of system and say to the devs, hey you figure this out, this will not work anymore. Nintendo needs to stop this old way of thinking, Nintendo is the Sega of the past and if it wasnt for the 3ds right now then a total fail of everything

            1. its behind bro we dont need specs, money is money if wii u is so good and so next gen then devolopers would make stuff cause money at the end of the days what matters, wii u cant see enough units games/systems to drive $$$

              1. Wii U’s exclusives are so good developers perfer to make games for other consoles. BTW, what’s the unknown data in Wii U for? What about the big upgrade this fall you know what’s that for?

            2. You can look them up yourself. Of course they aren’t behind compared to current gen consoles but they are compared to next gen they claim the Wii U is in.

    19. HA HA! Funny how a developer that is defending the Wii U has to compare it to the xbox360. They do realize the xbox360 is an 8 year old console right? When to defend the Wii U’s power you compare it to an 8 year old console there definitely is something wrong.
Of course the Wii U is more powerful than an 8 year old console. The Wii U has 7 year old hardware so it has one year advantage over the 8 year old consoles LOLOLOL!!!

The truth of the matter is that this underpowered baby toy excuse of a console is years behind with it’s outdated technology. Where is this powerhouse game that is going to show us what they Wii U can do? It almost a year since it launched and there hasn’t been anything that looks next gen on it.

      1. “The truth of the matter is that this underpowered baby toy excuse of a console is years behind with it’s outdated technology. Where is this powerhouse game that is going to show us what they Wii U can do?” I asked myself the same thing with PS4 ánd Xbone games. For 8 cores, the graphics don’t look any better than Wii U. And besides, graphics on Wii U compared to Splinter Cell looks the freaking same. PS4 is inbetween if Splinter Cell was on PS4. So where’s the groundbreaking graphics on PS4?

    20. no its not the devs fault, nintendo made a system that no one wants to make special devolopment for, ps4/xbone they will make one game and port it for the other, nintendo wants special treatment to make their own version , they cant see enough for this, god last week in japan they only sole 5,000 ps vita sold almost 2,000 more this should be troubling enough

      1. If power brings sales, why is Rayman Legends on Xbone best seller over Wii U then? Yet the first week Wii U’s version was best seller. Also have you seen Pikmin 3 and W101’s visuals. Beautiful. Im sure X and Mario Kart 8 will look even better.

    21. As someone who owns all 3 systems, I THINK, every developer wants an easy way out. Make a system similar to PC’s (PCs is always going to be far better than XB1 and PS4 or any console for that matter) so they can port games for all the systems without any thought. Then, why even bother with with the other 2 systems when I can get something 20x better on a PC. Which can be upgraded within 6 month if I so chose to.

In all honesty, Nintendo this generation for systems is less powerful in specs as far as what, CPU, Speed? Maybe, possibly. I am not going to go into that because I am so not tech savvy in any way shape or form, but Nintendo is more powerful in innovation (at least to me).

I feel it takes more time and thought to think out of the box and use the gamepad in a very interesting way. Instead of another FPS game, try to make an FPS game different by using the gamepad functionality. No one wants to take the time. It is for the most, cut and paste, cut and paste…. and cut and paste. (NOTE: Splinter Cell uses the gamepad in an interesting way)

If a game is exactly the same on xb1 & ps4, but I can get a version of the game which is better on PC, why would I even bother with the version that are far less superior. If a game that is on all systems (including PC) but the Wii U version has something extra to offer because of the gamepad functionality, then I would go for that version because it has something interesting to offer me as a gamer even tho, graphically it may be less superior.

At least, that game is offering something new to experience then I have never seen before being made for a game.

Granted there are some games on the PS4 that I am getting, like “the division” because it is not coming to the Wii U (which I think is a missed opportunity there with the gamepad) and some exclusives to the PS4 that I think are going to be amazing.

Compare a game that came out with the 360/ps3 at launch to now. THEY ARE HORRENDOUS looking and do not hold up well nowadays.

In all honesty, as a gamer, I do not see anything superior graphically on the ps4/xb1 and the general consumer will not see it as well. They can talk about dirt under the fingernails, but am I really going to concentrate on how beautiful dirt is on someone when I am shooting someone in the face?

Choose your evil of which system you want, but all this complaining means nothing if all in all the game offers nothing. I stopped playin Forza after 3 because it just got boring. I stopped playing CoD after 3 because it was the same game with a hint of a different story line. I am a gamer that wants something to its sequels. This goes the same for Nintendo as well.

I love Battle Royal for the PS3, but the game does seem a little mismatched as far as gameplay goes, but it is still fun to play and it is COMPLETELY different FOR ME than Smash Bros. They both offer different gameplay while maintaining a similar feel of what Smash Bros was.

And I stopped all together playing any EA Sports games because minor improvements doesn’t add much for me and selling a game with that and an updated roster does not cut it as NEW for me. Fifa 14 for the Wii U (Actually FIFA 13 to be exact) added some different play elements, but not much at all to warrant the game as buyable (thank goodness for rentals). As far as that is concerned, games like that need a patch to upgrade the roster every year. Simple $10 dollar micro transaction.

OK, I got off course .. but … anyway…. PS4/Wii U for me this year

      1. done yet bro ? lol never said pc isnt the best platform graphically, pc dont push software numbers more than consoles FACT, Developers dont prefer to work on Wii u cause they are lazy lamo its cause theres no demand plain and simply put, im not a fanboy of any systems but i know what i see, Nintendo just keeps sweeping dirt under the rug selling a system devolopers dont care to work on

        1. Hey Chris since you know everything about Wii U answer this: Who’s the 4th character in Tropical Freeze, What’s the new IP Nintendo is not going to show till’ 2014? What’s the big upgrade on Wii U going to do? How many more Nintendo Directs will happen before 2014? Who are the other never before players in next SSB4? Name me a Wii U game that will operate off two GamePads, unlike PS4 and Xbone. How will it work with 2 gamepads? How far off is Wii U’s specs from PS4’s. What unnounced Wii U games is Nintendo working on? What other never thought of GamePad strategies can the GamePad do? What other future technologies for Wii U can be synced to the GamePad besides just the Wii Fit U meter that was shown a few days on an unexpected Direct? Is Bowser the bad guy on 3D World? What other supers are there besides the cat suit? What other future Wii U tittles we don’t know yet will use the NFC technology that aint on PS4 or Xbone? What future technologies will the port underneath the GamePad will do? When GamePads are available for sell at retailers, how you know it won’t be a different design? How do you know Wii U is doomed if you only know the tittles unveiled to you and only 3 tittles for 2014? You really don’t think Wii U is really doomed just because it’s 5 cores shy of PS4’s?

          1. Also Chris if Wii U is doomed, why when I answered Nintedo these questions, none got answered? Why are they still holding secrets? Is Wii U getting another Mario game graphical like galaxy? Never got answered. Is Star Fox in the works? Never got answered? So you answer them. Because basically you are just asuming Wii U is doomed based on little info Nintendo released. You dont know what all future 1st, 2nd or 3rd party titles will be released do you?

        2. And Xboxone and Sony rely more on 3rd party than Nintendo. You don’t know what future tittles coming in 2014. Hell 78 hours you didnt even know about Wii sports. What new details can you tell me about X and Bayonetta 2? Show me how they work with the GamePad. Show me more stages of Mario Kart 8. Show me Zelda U’s visuals. What’s the gameplay like.

    22. Pingback: As noticias de games mais rápida do Brasil » Blog Archive » Desenvolvedora Shin’en diz que ausência de games com belo visual no Wii U não é culpa do hardware

    23. Is Nintendo talking with GameFreak about a Pokemon tittle on Wii U? Do you know chris? If Wii U had 8 cores, how would 3rd party tittles compete with Wii u exclusives? Thats why they don’t want to work With Wii U, not because it’s outdated but Ninty’s exclusives.

      1. @Jtz, Seriously, relax.. deep breathe

@Chris, Wii Sports was innovative enough to have the other consoles mimic or try design something completely similar (kinect)

But, for me it really comes down to games, I think that is where I lost my point. For me, the Wii U have more games I consider to buy and keep for a long time. I find the longevity in game play much more worthwhile, and I speaking specifically for me.

I am already trading in my xbox360/ps3 for the PS4 as they have games that “I WANT TO PLAY”. At the same time, I think it is kind of lazy to make “lazy ports” of games and hope they sell for a quick buck and then get mad that it did not sell well at all. I already had it for the other console, so no need for me to get it again. I think, that is where things get a little iffy and companies need to realize most people already had that game, so unless you are offering something drastically different ala Deus Ex: Human Revolution, then… really there is no point

Yes, there is a small install base for the Wii U at the moment, but if people are not willing to try to make games for the system aside from Nintendo, then yes, no one will be interested in getting it to begin with and no one wants a lazy port of games. ME3 is a great game and no need for me to get it on the wii U. Yes, the wii u got a great game that EVERYONE pretty much has already and for those who wanted to play it for the Wii U, do not even get the DL content. Slap in face

A thought at hand, all consoles usually have a slow start in sales and I think Microsoft is going to get left behind this time around, just a guess. They are already saying there is a first day update, via wii u style.

All in all, to each there own right?? I usually buy all systems, this year I am only sticking with 2 and maybe the vita…. but that is a stetch

LOL ITS A CHEAPBPILE OF CRAP FROM THE LOWEST NON PROFITING BIDDER ADM ITS A CHEAP ASS SOC NOTHING MORE

LOL AT THE SHEER IGNORENCE OF TRYING TO SAY 200NS GDDR5 FEEDING READ AND WRITE TO THE CPU AND GPU WITH A HACKED SLOW GPU FEED TO TRY AND GET AROUND THE NO GPU RAM BUILD OF AMD’S SOC DESIGN

A HACK JOB WITH SLOW RAM TECHNICAL FACT !!!!

200NS SLOW MEMORY IN AND OUT TO THE MOTHER BOARD FOR ALL PROCESSING TASKS FEEDING A SOC AMD DESIGN NOEVER SUITED TO GAMING

FACTS CANNOT BE DENIED PS4 IS A POOR PC X86 DESIGN FACT WITH SLOW RAM

MADE ON THE CHEAP ADMITTED BY PS4 HEAD GUY ,SONY CANNOT AFFORD EDRAM OR A ACTUAL CONSOLE DESIGN

THEY SOLD OUT AND PUT A CHEAP PC IN A BLACK BOX WITH A 1996 CONTROL PAD

JOKE JUNK BOND STATUS COMPANY FACT!!!

EVERY SINGLE BENCHMARK WERE GDDR5 VS DDR3 IS FEEDING A CPU THE DDR3 IS 50% STRONGER THAN GDDR5

GDDR5 IS HALF THE RAM PERFORMANCE OF DDR3 FOR CPU VS DDR3

SIMPLE LOGIC GOES A LONG WAY HAY GUYS

WIIU HAS SUB 5NS EDRAM AND A CUSTOMIZED MCM FOR LOW LATENCY AND HIGH BANDWIDTH BOTH THE GPU AND CPU FEED FROM CATCH LIKE FAST RAM

AND THE DDR3 MAIN RAM IS ALSO MUCH MUCH FASTER THAN GDDR5 IN LATENCY AND HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE HEARD ABOUT CUSTOM HIGH SPEED PRE FETCH’S

YOU CODE A WIIU IN ITS MASSIVE AND MULTIPUL CATCH MEMORYS YOU FEED THE GPU AND CPU AT HIGH SPEED AND HIGH BANDWIDTH

THE MAIN RAM BECOMES A FEED NOT A MAIN MEMORY EVERYTHING IS FED THRU THE HIGH SPEED SUB MEMORY

      32MB EDRAM,2MB EDRAM,1MB SRAM AND 3MB EDRAM TO CPU
38MB OF SUPER FAST WORK CATCH MEMORY

WIIUS GPU EDRAM ALSO GIVES THE RAM AND GPU A MASSIVE BOOST IN PERFORMANCE LIKE

      POST PROCESSING,OVERDRAW,FILL RATE,TRANSPARANCYS,AA,COMPUTE SHADING

THE CPU AND GPU ARE MUCH CLOSER AND FASTER THAN PS4 FOR EXAMPLE ITS DESIGNED TO BE FAST AND EFFECTIVE

sub 5 nano seconds vs 200ns

even if reading from the ddr3 its sub 20ns vs 200ns

ps4 has to use a hack by pass to allow the gpu to read the main ram JOKE DESIGN

wiius edram and ddr3 are linked directly to the gpu and cpu NO HACK JOBS NEEDED

ps4 has lots of rops /wiiu has lots of edram

its simple logic wiiu has the power to compeat but ps4 does not have the innovation the controls or the 1st party or the cadh to compeat

      commonsense

    26. Yet Chris just goes by the basics thinking the more cores then the better it is. Ignoring that a single Wii U core outperformes two PS4 cores. Also don’t forget, 2 of the PS4’s cores are used for the OS. So lets that leaves 6 for gaming. Interesting 3 Wii U cores and 6 PS4 cores. 3 goes into 6 evenly. So you really think PS4’s graphics and sound is really going to be soooooo much better than Wii U’s? Can Sony make a way where it takes 1gb for the OS?
