Legendary Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has once again teased the possibility of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask remake for Nintendo 3DS. During Aonuma’s panel at the New York Comic Con, the esteemed producer was asked whether there is a chance that Majora’s Mask could be remade for the Nintendo 3DS. Aonuma replied by saying that once gamers get their hands on The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and finish the game, then they should finally get their answer.
Somebody asked about Majora’s Mask, somebody always ask about Majora’s Mask and he basically said: “Finish this game [ALBW] and that may give you your answer.”

Well like, we’ve seen the mask in the game. So. Is this a prequel? Does Lorule become Termina or something once Link has cleansed it of darkness?
with the way Aonuma worded it you would almost say so. he’s stating that the game will show whether or not there will be a new Majora’s Mask.
but if this will be a prequel, then that would also mean that this game comes between ocarina of time and Majora’s Mask, but it is also after a link to the past.
it’s just so strange, as majora’s mask and a link to the past are on different time lines. how could they possibly be connencted?
Quite easily in my opinon. As we never do find out what happened to the Happy Mask Salesman do we. I say he fled Hyrule resulting in Ravio getting the Majoras Mask.
As for Lorule becoming Termina very doubtful. As not only would it be around at the time of OoT, but it wouldn’t have the deciding factor of Link saving it. Thus turning it to Termina before he went there in MM.
There is one possibility i can think of that could happen. But even then it is unlikely. The evil that has attacked Lorule awakens Majoras Mask that lay waiting in Ravios shop. It wakes up and somehow travels back into the Child Timeline thus creating MM.
Remember what the Happy Mask Salesman said? That it was “Trapped in Darkness”? (not exact quote)
And he did say he went to “great lengths” to get it. I think universe-jumping could be considered “great lengths”

Maybe a mask that could allow universe-jumping, or even something to do with links new dimension hopping abilities wouldn’t be out of the question?
Think of it this way. There’s a whole lot of “magic” in Legend of Zeldas’ OoT and MM. The happy mask salesman yes, probably traveled great lengths to retrieve this mask, but probably didn’t go ‘universe-jumping’. But maybe so, who knows? I mean a link between worlds, the title almosts seems like it’s implying that link is going to be between realms and timelines. But I also think that if this does lead into a Majora’s Mask remake (Because remember, it still might not!) then just like skyward sword starting the entire timeline, I think A Link Between Worlds may be a separate timeline all on it’s own. A Link Between Worlds may be the legend of the Majora’s Mask and maybe not how the mask salesman got it, but more on how the mask was created, how the mask got it’s power, how the mask became evil, and how the mask was sealed away. Think of this as an “origins” to Majora’s Mask.
(PS: I’m making a highly-educated hypothesis. I’m not sure of the true timeline so this is my best guess to solve everything.)

Change the title to “Xbox One is going to be the Dreamcast” because really by the looks of the Wii U sales and the fact Nintendo is selling a shit ton of 3DSs I don’t think they are going anywhere anytime soon. However, Microsoft isn’t so lucky. They are losing money from Windows 8 and the tablet/smartphone business isn’t doing so well for them either and the fact that the Xbox One is critically PANNED its more likely going end up the next Dreamcast which is Ironic seeing how it got its controller idea FROM the Dreamcast.
Another thing is that many indie devs are moving to the Wii U and PS4 which is actually driving the video game industry now because more people are starting to buy indie titles such as Minecraft which is coming the PlayStation Platform and many companies like Fricitional aren’t even touching Windows 8 or the Xbox One. I’m sorry to say this kiddo but Microsoft is going to die… But at least you can get the play Halo 5 and Gears of War 4 on the PS4 and Wii U in the future.

The only thing that could prevent that from happening is the fact that the 3DS installed base is like 35 million now, not 100 mill+ like the DS was when some of those Pokémon games sold.

Oh yes! There was actually a huge difference between Ocarina (n64) and Ocarina 3D. The main on being, N64 ver was all Pre rendered. Ocarina 3D was all real time.

Still, I wish they’d remake Majora’s Mask (and Ocarina Of Time) on the WIi U. I have Ocarina Of Time 3D and never even touched it (except looking at a few of the opening scenes). I’m just not as into handheld games as I am with major consoles. Even though I’m loving Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

We know the timeline splits after OoT but the dark/parellel world/dimension might not follow the same rules.

Guys, this couldn’t possibly be a prequel to MM. WHY? Because This is a DIRECT sequel to A Link to the Past; which is part of the “Fallen Hero” time-line. MM is part of the child hero time-line and the direct sequel to OoT.
