Although these sales figures are not yet confirmed, VGChartz are reporting that The Wind Waker HD has sold over 152,000 copies in North America in its first week, and that the game has boosted Wii U sales in the region to over 35,000, a jump of 31%. These figures are in stark contrast to those in Japan, where reports still had Wii U selling only 5,000 consoles after the release of Wind Waker HD. Interestingly, these large figures coming out of North America do not include eShop sales of the game, where Wind Waker HD is reportedly doing extremely well.
The title’s success in North America can no doubt be attributed in large part to a huge marketing push by Nintendo that saw them release a Wii U Deluxe bundle that included the game, as well as a GameStop exclusive version that came packaged with a Ganondorf figurine. Nintendo is hoping that The Wind Waker HD will continue to drive console sales, because with the delay of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze until 2014, the struggling Wii U can expect to see very little first-party software support for the holidays.

That means nothing. Just like Resident Evil Revelations, Assassin’s Creed III Liberation, and other handheld games are getting the HD treatment soon after their initial release (even with solid sales), I wouldn’t be surprised if KH 3D did too – eventually.
I’m not talking about right now, I’m talking more, 2015 which gives it ample time to sell on the 3DS. KH HD 1.5 ReMIX came out this year, 2.5 next year (2014), and Dream. Drop. Distance. HD could be in 2015. Then we’ll probably get a KH III release in 2016.

The side stories aren’t as good as the core games (KH, KH 2, KH BBS, and KH 3D).
I like it because of the story and the gameplay. It is just a fun series that I have been with from the very start.
Chain of Memories isn’t a good starting point. It’s got plenty of flaws the core series games don’t have. You gotta start with the original.
It’s not just a remake, it improves on several key elements that hampered the original quite a bit. So it’s more like the definitive Wind Waker..

I think DKCTF was delayed as a favor to Sega for making Sonic LW a Wii U exclusive.It already has to compete with Mario 3D World for are money.It is in their best interest’s to keep Sega happy.Otherwise they will jump ship like Ubisoft and other developers.Sonic can’t go head to head with both and shouldn’t have to since Sega is being a full partner with Nintendo on 3 games.On like what happened with Rayman.

The WiiU, the only eighth generation console that has games locked at 60fps, 1080P. Windwaker HD anyone? I here a certain VCR betamax plays movies at 900P, 25 fps. It is a movie game based in Rome.

It is a system seller. But no one should have been expecting miracles, WiiU is facing an uphill battle against negative perception/media thats been building up since it’s release. So, WWHD did well considering the shithole WiiU is in.
The WWHD Bundle already boosted sales for 2 weeks before the hardcopy’s release week (2 days of retail sales). That means 3 straight weeks of increased console sales (the first week was 2 days of bundle sales). And that’s not including UK and EU, which saw a higher % increase.

Well that’s nice but not great. Let’s see how well Super Mario 3D World can push units. Man Nintendo really fucked up this year and holiday season when it desperately needed it. If I was in charge I would have made the price drop early with bundles of Super Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, Mario Kart 8, and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze all released before before 2014. Yeah Nintendo dropped the ball several times this year but I’m glad to see some sales rise.
I’m gonna have a stack of Wii U games even before I get the console. I already have 3, and eventually I’ll get Pikmin 3. I will NOT buy a Wii U until I see a new color! No matter how long I have to wait. Black SUCKS!
