Kindness Of Zelda Fans Moves Aonuma To Tears On Days When Miyamoto “Gets Mad” At Him

In a new interview with Spike, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has revealed his emotional side, admitting that he is deeply touched by the kind words of Zelda fans. He mentioned a time when he posted about his jet lag from being at E3 and received many kind responses from Zelda fans around the world.

Interestingly, one of the examples Aonuma provided of a stressful event he experiences at work was legendary Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto “getting mad” at him. He went on to say that the encouraging messages he receives from fans especially move him while he’s going through one of these rough patches. Aonuma’s struggles will be fully realized on November 22nd when A Link Between Worlds slides into the game slot of 3DS owners the world over. Here is Aonuma’s full quote from his interview with Spike:

“I think one thing that surprises me is how many encouraging messages I get when I just post something simple. Like, just at E3, I posted that I was really feeling the jet lag, and people were like, ‘oh, no that’s too bad,’ and gave me lots of pat on the back type messages. It made me realize that Zelda fans are just really, really nice. I didn’t realize they were such great people. When I’m at my job, and working on producing The Legend of Zelda titles, and Mr. Miyamoto is getting mad at me and stuff, then I get these encouraging messages it’s almost enough to make you cry, so it’s just really great.”

      1. Apart from the train being on the slow side, Spirit Tracks is a great and very underrated game. Funny how Nintendo fans are all about “it’s not about how it looks but how it plays” yet, for some, the image of a train made them go this crazy. I think it’s the best handheld Zelda after Minish Cap. Charming story, fun dungeons and just the right length (and an awesome sidekick).

        1. It’s not about looks, it’s about the gameplay.

Which is why I dislike Spirit Tracks. The microphone on the DS lite was infuriating to use for learning the new tunes.

  1. There pressure aonuma must have might be insane though. Zelda fans are hard to please but they do care a lot. Im sure his 3ds game will be so good though

  2. zelda fans are not hard to please, just release another title with a guy in green clothes going haah haah and people will buy it :)

    1. How about you go FUCK YOURSELF? You can’t tell GOD himself to go fuck himself, and yes, I’m talking about Miyamoto. Miyamoto will fuck you five times before you hit the bed, you whore. Take it. And like it. The creator of the best games of all time just FUCKED YOU like the little slut that you are. Cock sucker.

      1. Miyamoto is a human who MADE good once who is probably a selfish angry dictator using people for his own advantage.

        1. You’re going there, huh? You called him a dicktater? You fucker. You son of a bitch bastard mother fucker. How dare you call Miyamoto a dick. You think he’s a penis? You think he’s a potato, or tater as you call it? I bet you think it’s so funny to call him a dicktater like you’re so fuckin clever, you cunt. Bow down to Miyamoto and the Gods at Nintendo and suck their cocks, gargle that jizz, and bask in the glory that is Nintendo Corporation.

          FUCK. YOU. ASSHOLE.

            1. no, i posted that video towards that pathetic fanboy. fanboys are worse than trolls, they are disgusting things who are way to connected with pieces of plastic and the things they say also are worse.

              1. ignoring that they are fucking tools. lol.
i forgave them though, i love you allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.

  3. im sure miyamoto is trying to push him to do the best he can! i dont know the situation though, but sir, whatever you give us we’ll love it!

      1. Or you have no nutsack, but rather youre MyNintendoNews/any other Nintendos website’s bitch, ya bishhh.

  4. Just because Miyamoto might not be as happy and nice as some may think doesn’t mean you have a nut sack.

    1. We all know your nut sack shoots blanks. Look at it. What woman would want that jazz to shoot up in them coming from an aids infested sack?

    1. Yes, adults never get mad at other adults /s

Probably because he did something wrong, or was behind schedule? And he used the term “getting mad” loosely. Like Miyamoto ever gets mad, it’s like he’s always high.

    2. I imagine Miyamoto must be Aonuma’s overseer, & any mistake Aonuma makes can probably cost, lower or risk his position/status/reputation/paycheck.

And it’s perfectly normal for adults to get mad at each other, especially when money’s on the line.

  5. MY WHEELCHAIR IT WAS GOT TO BACKWARDS IN THE SAYING.

WHY DYNAMITE TO PEOPLE COULD NOT BE CALCULATED TO THE GROUND WITHIN.

    STENDECK

    1. ….that doesn’t even make sense.

TP had very few problems, outside of the first hour, and the fact it looks like shit. And the only relation to OOT are shallow comparisons like Ganondorf, and Epona, and the fact it was set on land in Hyrule, but what the fuck do you think, that they were NEVER going to do that again?
The only other comparison is that Morpheel is in the game but this time he’s not a shit boss.
      TP hate is fucking stupid.

And SS, behind it’s many many flaws, is nothing like OOT at all.

      1. TP is not bad, i just felt it was dull, but it isnt bad, maybe i hate it a little more because i manly played it on wii, i remember when i had the gamecube version i liked it a lot more.

SS is way worse, fucking bad. take dog shit and smear it on the game. thats how i can explain that horrible disappointment.

        1. TP just isn’t nice to look at outside of the dungeons, and it’s just aged horribly, where as WW still looks good, even on the gamecube. Also missing alot of “that Zelda charm”, but as far as game design goes, TP smashes the other games, it’s probably the best, hefty amount of dungeons, great bosses, lots of side stuff to do that isn’t just fucking rupees that i don’t need like in WW, the only complaint other than visuals, and the opening hour that i’ll accept is i someone wasn’t a fan of the motion controls, or they thought the Wolf parts were a little dull. And Midna doesn’t say shit to you, she the complete opposite of Fi, and even if she was like Fi, you can fly through 20 text boxes in like 5 seconds in that game, and skip every cutscene.

          1. ill give TP these things. it has some of the best bosses in the series, the levels are more diverse. it didnt hold your hand while having a fucking bitch like fi and the music was good.

side stuff?? like what. i dont remember TP having anything on the side at all and it was empty as fuck with nothing to do. some of the levels were very boring, after each level, “oh lets go back to the fucking bar then go to the next level” lame.’
then the dark theme fails to do it like MM did.

WW had a lot of stuff to do on the side, so many things to find. MM had a shit load of side missions and tasks. OOT had all those side levels, same with MM. TP does nothing like those, its empyty and linear as fuck. SS is way worse than TP in those areas too.

  6. I would argue that Aonuma is more qualified to make decisions related to games than Miyamoto. Whilst Miyamoto may have led the development of some great games, he isn’t without his share of mishaps; and really isn’t the sort to make games for the fans specifically anymore…

    1. Yeah, but i think alot of it is Nintendo mentality of “everyone should be able to play our game” and the fact the Wii and DS where so popular, so you had complete rems who can’t play for shit because they’re stupid going “how do i jump?”, except they weren’t saying that because those people never even bought Zelda to begin with.

  7. Aww man, getting feels this early in the morning.

Honestly, i think Aunoma stepping out on his own is cool, im interested to see what he comes up with for the WiiU Zelda

  8. People need to stop bashing miyamoto for this. Remember he is hard at work on his new mystery franchise and torturing younger developers. They both have stress and probably have both happen mad at each other. Plus, who can really say they have never gotten mad at someone and really recreated it later?

  9. miyomoto needs to to take a break… he wants to keep everything the SAAMMEE. You’re hearing this from a nintendo fanboy, who owns every nintendo console, all we are getting is side-scrollers, everytime a new innovation comes along miyamoto doesn’t like it, just like he hated customization for karts in mario kart 7 and wanted it removed….theres NO reason why, you have to change, you cant just please your 30+ year fanboys who only want games like the ”classics”. i grew up with games like donkey kong 64 and super mario sunshine, THOSE are the kinda games i want to be seeing made again, and even more new features.

  10. I can’t imagine Miyamoto being pissed off at Aonuma. It seems strange, haha. I’m glad Aonuma finds solace in Zelda fans’ encouraging comments. Working on Zelda games is a huuuge undertaking, and I can see how stressful it gets. I can’t wait for A Link Between Worlds!

  11. Poor Aonuma has too much pressure on his shoulders, being reponsible for the Zelda series is big, not everybody could handle it.
They should let the poor guy rest a little, as soon as he finishes with the development of one game, he gotta make another one.

    1. High demand and a limited period of time requires higher amounts of stress. And 3D integration plus more complex graphics requires more work to be put into the game.

    2. I heard the last guy(name withheld by Nintendo)lost his marbles, started communicating in a weird form of sign language&akward grunts&he refused to wear anything but green pajamas to go out. He once tried to shove a chainsaw in his pocket but failed…

  12. Any prosperous business knows that you can’t attain success without some form of abuse, LOL!!!

    *Abuse=Productive workers at a lower cost/Profit/Success!

*Kindness=Lazy employees that talk back to the hand that feeds them/Loss of profit/Atari

  13. As much as Miyamoto always smiles and laughs, and acts like a kid at heart, it’s hard to imagine him getting mad at anyone. But I’m sure there’s a side to Miyamoto that nobody ever sees.
