Nintendo has confirmed that it will no longer be supplying Wii imports to Europe. The news comes after Nintendo Japan said they were discontinuing selling the console that set the world on fire in 2006. Those gamers in Europe that still wish to purchase a Wii can invest in the controversial Wii Mini, or purchase a Wii second-hand. Nintendo of America previously confirmed that they will continue to stock the console during the holiday season.
“Wii imports to Europe have been discontinued. However, there are still a variety of options for consumers to enjoy Wii games and the Wii gameplay experience.”
“Wii U, which is Nintendo’s latest home console, is backwards compatible with nearly all existing Wii games and accessories, so you can enjoy a vast library of disc-based and downloadable Wii games and Wii gameplay experiences when you switch to Wii Mode on Wii U.”
“Wii Mini is also now available across Europe offering Wii gameplay experiences at a great value. Wii Mini puts the focus squarely on games with over 1200 existing disc-based Wii titles to choose from.”

Not for long. Wii sales are bringing Nintendo down hill. If they stopped supporting Wii U right now and went full 100% support on 3ds they would be doing even better than before. If Wii U continues to bring bad sales in they are going to at some point stop supporting and manufacturing Wii U and truthfully mario 3D world is the only hope for Wii U this holiday, one game alone isn’t going to save it when it’s going up against 3ds, xbone, Wii (im America) and ps4.

Wasn’t 3D land pretty much on its own against every thing and blew 3DS sales to the sky mario kart was there too. Mario kart is in spring sadly. We might get aleast half the effect that happen to 3DS during holidays. Sony and microsoft have nothing for the holidays besides their new plastic. Launch sells will be up while holiday sells will be lower. People go after deals during the holidays, if doesn’t offer a cheap deal most people won’t buy them this much this holiday. Next holiday they will have more deals and more sells. Even the wii u didn’t have that many deals last year during black friday. Nintendo needs to put advertisments everywhere this holiday, the wii u and its games. They need to work out deals for stores so they can sell wii u s on black friday
