It’s a nice bundle, but the Basic might redirect some people to alternate versions.
I dont think that would matter a smart gamer would buy the basic for the price and then buy the HDD drive. Then you have to think that kids would love this and they would probably not care about the gb size nor the colour. If this gets the good amount marketing. It’s a great deal, not everyone is obsessed with internal storage. I still have 20GB left on my deluxe unit, mainly due to the fact that I buy retail discs where I can.
The PS4 and Xbox One are going to struggle if Nintendo keeps up these great deals.
Um, no. The PS4 and Xbox One will already have tremendous sales this year based on preorders alone. Even more will probably be sold to people just walking into the store.

I think they will sell like Wii U during launch also. I kept hearing the hype about how the Wii U sold out pre-orders and it might be hard to find one and while it sold well during the Christmas period, the media looked stupid. Judging how they gush over the PS4 and Xbox One, I figure they are overestimating things.
I do think that most of the sales of the PS4 and XB1 will come from pre-orders and launch-day purchases. I still expect them to do pretty well, though not as ridiculously well as people seem to imagine (pre-orders aren’t actually that much higher than they were for the Wii U at this point, though at least there has been a little bit of advertising for them).
Really? No console (in the history of consoles) priced over $300 has ever sold well, don’t be taken in by the hype, it’s common these days for a new console to get over a million pre-orders.
The problem that Sony and MS have is that they are now competing with themselves, they now have to convince 70M PS3/360 owners to part with $349+ to upgrade to a new console that (at the moment) plays games that look slightly better than what they already own. Don’t forget that most of the launch lineups are also available on current gen.
It’s going to take a while..
I know it will take a while, I’m just saying they will be very successful this holiday.

still there is no good reason to buy a Wii U on this holiday. Only $50 cheaper than the PS4 (the Wii U 8GB is pointless), seems like is gonna struggle selling.
You’re not just getting the unit though, these are big bundles that have a lot more value for your $299, and like I said before, not everyone is obsessed with internal storage, a lot of people still prefer to buy retail discs.
PS4 is $399 so its a hundred dollars cheaper and it comes with two games Skylander and Nintendoland, which if you are a parent with a kid or young kid, its like Nintendo will have them covered. This bundle is very smart despite it being the 8gig model and to a little kid they are not going to care about hard drive space.
Where you live, anyway. Here in Australia, the PS4 and Xbox are far more expensive than the Wii U.
