This week’s UK chart sales are now in courtesy of GFK Chart Track, and it’s a mixed bag for Nintendo releases. Batman: Arkham Origins tops the chart, taking Grand Theft Auto V’s crown, it’s still delayed for a UK release on the Wii U however, so we shall see how that fares in later weeks. Wii U and 3DS exclusive Sonic Lost World has slipped from number 11 to 20 in the all-formats, while it no longer graces the individual top 40 for either edition. Pokemon X and Y remain on top form in the all-formats and sit within the top 10 at number 5 and 6, while new release Wii Party U sees its debut at number 38 in the individual chart.
Two older DS titles have made a comeback this week, though, and it’s all thanks to the rather nifty promotion UK retailer Argos is running in combination with the Nintendo 2DS. LEGO The Lord of the Rings and Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed place in at number 8 and 9. It isn’t a shit game, I believe SEGA were experimenting with sonic however it didn’t pay off as it should have. It isn’t a bad game at all but it isn’t a great one either (my opinion). Its still worth buying if you’re into platforming and innovation within’ games. Don’t forget that this game is an improvement to how sonic was 5 years ago.
I agree it is nowhere near as good as previous sonic titles (colours, generations) but it isn’t shit – Sonic ’06 is shit. But its up to personal opinion so this game will please some but not others.
Be glad that there are still some companies which are willing to take gambles with their franchises, not every developer is willing to risk their franchise for innovation.

Wow Wii Party U only coming at Number 38. I bought it and am really enjoying it but its 100% confirmed that the casuals are not interested in Wii U. This was a massive game for the original Wii console and is now just another flop for the Wii U. Nintendo is in a really difficult position at the moment. With Windwaker HD, Sonic Lost World and Wii Party U I have had a great time with the Wii U this month but these games have all bombed and done nothing for console sales in the grand scheme of things. The ONLY hope Nintendo have to drive sales is now Super Mario 3D world and that looks like a great game but not as good as the Galaxy games. Also New Super Mario Bros U and Luigi U have not set the console alight yet so why will this?
Wind Waker HD didn’t bomb, it did great compared to the aomunt of Wii Us sold. It also sold quite an amount of consoles.

tbh, the game isn’t the best sonic game ever, but it isn’t the worst. most bad reviews are overly harsh, and the ign and gamespot ones are just trash.

From a demo i played, i’d give it a 7-8/10.
i recommend you try it yourself. Sonic games have been great since unleashed so i’d have good hopes for it though :)
