Nintendo has announced today that the StreetPass Mii Plaza downloadable content made 1.1 billion yen for the Kyoto based company at the end of September and sales continue to come flooding in. Obviously the majority of sales were from Japan where the StreetPass functionality is a big hit. In fact, a whooping seventy-five percent of sales were from Japan.

One of the high points in our digital business for this fiscal year is the new add-on content for “StreetPass Mii Plaza,” which is a built-in application for Nintendo 3DS and has been enjoyed by many consumers.

This application originally had two games, “Puzzle Swap” and “Find Mii,” which consumers enjoyed by using “StreetPass.” In addition, we have made available four more games as add-on content including “Mii Force,” “Flower Town,” “Warrior’s Way” and “Monster Manor.” Many people have already downloaded these games and the sales surpassed 1.1 billion yen at the end of September and have steadily grown since then.

Currently, 75 percent of the sales of these games have been in Japan, where StreetPass is the most popular in the world. However, we are aware that an increasing number of people have been using “StreetPass Relay Points” launched in August and that, after the release of “Pokémon X/Pokémon Y,” more people have started to carry their Nintendo 3DS with them to experience StreetPass. We expect steady sales over a long period by increasing the ratio of users overseas.

  1. Does anybody else’s tv audio delayed just very slightly after their gamepad audio? I’ve tried game mode, but it doesn’t work.

    1. thats because at least when mirrorwing the game the pad process the pictures and sound faster than the tv, pretty impressive by the way

    2. Wind waker HD plays the sound simultaneously on the pad and the tv, it sounds great. Too bad that’s the only time it dose that.

  2. I do not get it, many sites say Nintendo is Doom for lack of sales, but when number come out all say Nintendo is making a ton of money, and the same sites say Sony is going to pretty much take over the videogame world but when it come to numbers, they are always losing money or verely making any of it, I just do not get it.
