Yes, but I have some trouble with the reason behind the Goomba being the way it was cause the cartridge couldn’t fit more characters. Basically for one, the Super Mario Bros. game which was an Arcade (on JAMMA board or something like that) game first didn’t have those size constraints. It even included levels that were not on the NES version between level 6 and 8. Also, you could add more ram to a cartridge which was only 512k at the time, but probably wouldn’t have cause of the cost. But either way something doesn’t seems off here.

Sony tossed that number out before launch based off of the 10,000 prereleased systems. It was largely marketing speak and not likely based off of actual numbers. They were just trying to get people to keep their preorders rather than abandon ship.

Amazon’s has over a third of their customer verified reviews showing a high failure rate. If you take into account the fact the fan boys had to start a campaign where unverified buyers post positive reviews in order to get the numbers up, the number looks even worse. Face it, something is wrong with the PS4 and Sony not only does not have a clue what to do about it, but seem to be in denial about the problem’s mere existence.
I’m aware about the amazon defects And I don’t deny that SOME not all ps4’s have problems but that doesn’t count as 33% of the 1mil buyers. All im saying is you Guys are exaggerating the percentages just because you want to make the ps4 look bad.

Just wait until it starts displaying Red Ring like behavior due to the poor ventilation. Considering they don’t even know what is causing the Blue Light of Doom, and the Blinking Red Light of Fail is due to overheating, we probably will be seeing even more failure down the road.
Right the failures won’t be significant enough, all consoles have problems at launch. The bottom line is the numbers were exaggerated, the problems will be fixed and the ps4 will be #1 this GEN there’s no arguing that. Sales show it, statistics show it. Watch during the holidays too

You got to admit that 3D Mario trailer is more impressive than the commercial.
I had this thing for the longest time, that the first time I would play ANY Mario game, no matter how hard I thought, “this time will be different” I always died, or got hit by, the first goomba I saw. That stopped only a couple years ago with Galaxy 2
It makes sense, the primary antagonist is a turtle, it would follow that his minions would be as well. Goombas are the odd one out. Still, the game would be wildly different without them.

Goombas are enemies that you don’t really think about too often. You see them, and you immediately try to stomp them. But they’ve played a big role in Mario games and are instantly recognizable by tons of people. Even non-gamers. So, hats off to all Goombas! Well, except the annoying Goombas with wings. yeah but the best partner to have if you know how to use them…Goombario and Goombella is a perfect example. I still use those two when playing paper Mario series of one and two, POWER UP CHARGE ATTACK MULTIBONK (attack increased by 2….attack increased by 2 more…and so on, at the end if done right, power is up by 25 points…use multi and you got one hell of a deadly damage and goes down by one every hit…99 heart powered enemies don’t stand a chance if you use stone cap to your advantage.

Because like a lot of Nintendo fans I was also mocking the brick station but when I saw people perfered to either wait weeks for another PS4 or was getting an Xbox One not once have I heard a a traded brickex PS4 over a Wii U.
I love my Wii U and I want 3D Mario World to make Wii U outsell PS4 and maintain momentum. The hardware is good to me. And I plan on getting 3D Mario World. And a Star Fox and Zelda U. Those tittles will help. But I want Wii U to mantain sales not drop off 2 or 3 weeks later. Look at 3DS Pokemon has been in the top 10 for a month. 3DS sales has been unstoppable since gas prices were $2.45 a gallon. When will it be Wii U’s turn because its 3rd party tittles only work for 1 week.

It’s interesting how all of you haters assume that the sales of the PS4 means that the WiiU is doomed. The PS1 sold 3 times the N64, and the PS2 sold 6 times the GCN, but I don’t remember those 2 consoles being total failures.
yes you are right. During those 2 gens Nintendo was making really high profits despite low hardware sales. While the PS1 and 2 was making Sony next to no profit. (because of so many price cuts)

Getting back on track I’ve always loved the design of the Goomba. Sure it’s really simple, but it’s very cute and iconic. I love how determined Goombas are despite their decades of non-success. Goombario was easily my favorite character in Paper Mario.
Despite the cheesiness of Nintendo commercials and the fact that it was adverting a console that is doing FINE, the ONLY way for Nintendo to make sales is to the parents and pre-pubescent children. The PS4 and XBO has the pubescent and adult audience this year. Next year is the year to be the secondary console for the a lot of the richer PS4 gamers with Smash Bros, Bayo2, “X” and Zelda U next year.
Still Nintendo you have to let people know that the Wii U is not just an overpriced peripheral, you have to advertise that it exists!!! Sure sell it to parents for their kids along with a fitness machine for them with Donkey Kong, Mario and Wii Fit U this year, but advertise it!!! Here in the UK I have seen Zero adverts for the machine since launch one year ago!
