I’m actually betting it’s Zelda Wii U. Nintendo did say that they were going to show it at E3 but needed a little bit more time. This would be the perfect time to unveil the game. Also take note of how they say “new look”- Zelda on Wii U has already been announced but we have no idea what it looks like yet.
If it is Zelda and it is a “new look” my guess is that instead of it being a more photo-realistic Zelda which is what most people want, it’ll be some weird, abstract art style that they will try to convince us is better somehow.

Nintendo did not get to where they are appealing to “casuals.” They got to where they are appealing to EVERYBODY and when the focus went to just casuals that is when the problems started.
The term “casual” means just that. CASUAL. Not permanent. Casual will stick around until it gets old and then go do something else like go play Facebook farming games. Meanwhile there is a gaping hole left where the casuals used to.

Once the novelty of motion controls wore off people dropped the Wii like a bad habit and went to smart phones and tablets. A casual gamer is fickle by nature and only jumps on what is hot at the moment. The Wii was a gimmick that caught fire and then fizzled out just like all gimmicks and fads do. The Wii was just another Tickle Me Elmo. Just like the Wii toys stores still sell Tickle Me Elmo, but are they still being flipped on eBay for $4000 dollars? Nope.
A hardcore gamer is someone in which gaming is not a passing fancy. It is not just something they do every once in awhile. Gaming is a part of their everyday life, has been the majority of their lives since childhood and they NEVER tired of it. It part of who they are. Sure certain games get boring, but they go out and by different games. People who don’t need to be told when new games and hardware is being released because they are already aware of that from frequenting websites and game stores. A hardcore gamer usually has more than one console because they want to play the best of the best no matter what platform it is on. They want Mario, they want Halo, and they want God Of War. Hardcore gamers for the most part are in the age range of 25-35. Not an approximate number, just a ball park. There are hardcore gamers that are younger and older than that. My friends dad is in his 70s and he’s a hardcore gamer. Then you have young cats like Shokio who just turned 21 and is as hardcore as anyone my age and just as knowledgeable about the business.
Hardcore gamers are the foundation the industry is built upon. They are the reliable investment and the sure bet. We have been here (some of us) for 30 years+. Some even longer it makes no sense at all to turn your back on that audience which is what Iwata has done with Nintendo. When Hiroshi Yamauchi ran Nintendo they had a balance. You had all types of 1st-party games that you are getting now on the Wii U in terms of platformers and party games ***PLUS*** fighting games, shooters, RPGs, survival-horror, action adventure, racing sims, professional sports games, and many other genres all 1st-party in edition to 3rd-party representative of those categories. Where is that with the Wii U?
Exactly. It annoys me when people say that Nintendo has to be casual OR hardcore as if they cannot appeal to both. It also annoys me when people equate hardcore to FPS games only. Had Nintendo not of adopted a ridiculous policy in terms of mediums they would not have lost a single console war they have been involved in. If the N64 was CD based the Playstation brand would never have gotten off the ground. Ironically, Sony’s biggest successes have come off of Nintendo biggest mistakes. They screwed Sony with the CD add-on to the SNES and paid for it. They screwed themselves by going with the mini-DVD instead of a full-sized DVD on the Gamecube. They screwed up again by making the Wii sub-HD and if had not been for the motion-control had the PS3 would have won the 7th generation. Right now the Wii U is floundering and the XBOX One and PS4 are flourishing with no games. I expect that to diminish greatly once the holidays are over and well will get a better idea on the fate of the Wii U once everything settles down. However when you release Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Sonic Lost World, Super Mario 3D World, Mario and Sonic Winter Olympics, and Windwaker HD and the Wii U still can’t outsell the PS3 and 360 (much less the PS4 and XBOX One) anyone making excuses for them at this point are lost in delusion and need a brick thrown at them to wake up.
When you say that all that matters is the casual fans (who could care less about a Wii U assuming they even know it exists) and that Nintendo should focus on them, this is what you get. Two new consoles that are 100-200 dollars more expensive with maybe two or three games a piece worth buying the console for at this time and are trashing the Wii U in sales with THE franchise character Mario in possibly the biggest Mario title to date. Super Mario 3D World is an amazing game…………and it doesn’t matter because it’s too late. Should have been a launch title.
People always say it is to late for Nintendo even though they are the healthiest of the big 3. Casuals are the ones that are giving in the money and Nintendo should not make the sakes mistake they did with the gamecube for just making hardcore games. Hardcore gamers abandoned Nintendo during the gamecube why should Nintendo go back to thing that did not worked for anyone? Also what I mean is that the term hardcore and casual has been wrongly used so much that casual and hardcore has been changed. Casuals have know better taste in games than cores.

The only bad thing about the Wii U is that it doesn’t sell … It’s all due to the fact that when Nin revealed the Wii U, they were unclear about if the Wii U was just a remote for wii or a brand new console. They also had trouble releasing a lot of quality games in their 1st year, but now I must say that the Wii U is way better than PS4 and Xbox One in terms of games. If you want action games with the same gameplay over and over, filled with QTE, DLCs, Micro transactions, and updates, the PS4 and Xbox one are perfect for you. The PS4 will get better when more Japanese games will come out, but right now it’s all douche games.
If they did that, people would lose tons of faith in Nintendo and stop being interested in anything they do. They would be ditching millions of Wii U owners (myself included – I’d HATE that). Remember when Sega started abandoning their consoles if they had a slow start?
Nintendo isn’t stupid enough to drop their console after one year on the market. Neither is Sony with the Vita. When the PS3 and 3DS had slow starts, they didn’t just forget about them (even though it took around 3 years before the PS3 gained its foothold).
No matter what happens to the Wii U’s sales, it’s not going anywhere until this console generation draws to a close.

This is an opportunity for Reggie to reveal Zelda HD or Metroid HD or something new people don’t expect or a new game of an old franchise they haven’t done games for in a long time. NIntendo needs to understand that these kind of announcements in shows with big HD good looking games is what makes the so called “hardcore” nerds jizz their pants.
The only thing they could reveal that would even matter at this point would be a photo-realistic looking Zelda (since we haven’t had one yet it is just as valid of a request as any other artstyle) showing off the power that the Wii U has to entice 3rd parties to take another look at the system, or a few IP that is in the realm of a FPS, TPS, or action-adventure.
And their needs to be gameplay footage too.

No. Nintendo doesn’t do photo realistic. As Miyamoto himself said, he can do realistic but he hates it cause it restricts creativity. Pikmin 3 is as close to photo realistic as it needs to get.

If it is any game we have already seen it should be X. Sufficient footage has been shown of Bayonetta 2. At this point it should be in post-production stage just cleaning up bugs and other quality-control tasks.

If the news were going to be something underwhelming, they should just reveal it now instead of trying to build hype for it and make it seem like it’s a big ass deal just because they’re debuting it during an awards show.
But at the same time, it IS during an awards show, so it stands almost the same chance of being something crazy. Again, the wait makes it torture. If it were something we knew was going to be absolutely mindblowing, then of course the wait wouldn’t be so bad.

I REALLY want it to be an awesome 3 minute trailer of Zelda HD for Wii U, but I don’t thilnk they’ll do that, I think they’ll leave that for E3 for a 2015 release. Making Mario Kart, Smash Bros. and other games take 2014. What I think is if it’s not Zelda HD, it will be then Majorask;s Mask 3DS, he said “new look” after all… And it would be cool if then if Skull Kid is added in Smash Bros.
i just hope they realiaze they are no going to the nickelodeons awards this is Spike awards only hardcore games assists.
and just to let u know this is the first time nintendo is going to this awards. I hope they have something according to the standars. dont fucking come with another childish game.
