Popular online retailer Amazon.com has put together a list of their favourite games of 2013 spanning all formats. The well received Super Mario 3D World is placed ninth in Amazon’s best games of 2013 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is placed in 3rd. Interestingly multiplatform game Rayman Legends has been placed in seventh position beating Super Mario 3D World. However, the online retailer has placed the critically acclaimed The Last of Us as Game of the Year.

Calm down…. Rayman Legends is actually a very, very good platformer, but not as inventive as Mario 3D World. Mario wins on multiplayer and design.
Both games are amazing enough to make the “which is better?” argument subjective. They are the two best platformers of the year and are both inventive and charming in different ways. Not sure which I prefer but both opinions make sense to me.
As it should be! Mario 3D World is fun, but its no where as fun and creative as that Rayman game. I hate to say it, but Nintendo could learn a lot from them.

Divekick is awesome and you know it, I’m surprised it isn’t at the number one spot though. It’s a very deep game where you have to analyze what your opponents next attack will be (divekick or divekick). The producers of this game is also a great part of why it’s so great. Normally a game is made by a number of people working together for the finished product, but DIVEKIIIIIIIIIICK was made by a group of inter-galactic apes with ADHD!
They are both great games, happy they both made it on the list.

I think the list is good but I think they over compensation for the vita’s best game.

Rayman Legends doesn’t get enough credit. It really was an incredibly good game. It’s a shame it didn’t sell better.

I will admit, Rayman Legends did have more to it which made it better, so although I liked 3D world a lot as well and Ubisoft has been pissing me off a lot lately, Rayman Legends deserved the spot ahead. It makes more use of the gamepad, the online competitions and daily stages are fun to do, the game just lasts longer and was quite enjoyable in my opinion.
Though I don’t agree with Tearaway or Divekick being ahead of 3D World… Shut the Vita fans up I guess..? I dunno.
Sadly, barely anyone even purchased Tearaway, so there aren’t many Vita fans to shut up about it. It placed high because it’s a genuinely great game.
I liked Rayman Legends, but I’m enjoying 3D World more right now.

World was only fun when you play it with friends, i couldnt play it alone cus it was to linear and the stages werent all that fun except for some of the last few stages and haunted house ones, but the game was a bit similar to Land i think its was why i couldnt enjoy it when playing alone..
I never played it with friends, because I don’t have friends. I LOVED it playing by myself though! I didn’t care that it felt linear. I loved finding all the green stars. That was my favorite part. Also being able to play as Peach!! ^-^
play it with family members, its even better then playing it by yourself, trying to get to the top of the flag, fucking over the one with the crown, pushing/tossing others off the stage, trying to kill all the enemies by yourself, and trying to score better then everyone else is so fun.
But i agree with Richie684, the game feels to linear, and not as fun when you play it by yourself. Legends over 3D world. That doesnt mean 3D World is bad though, because its a hell of a game.
Sorry to hear you dont have friends but it really is fun playing with a couple of people, didnt really care for the green star but all in all i had fun with World just dont think its better than LoU or GTA5 but thats my opinion..

We only had one text session for a test that we took on Monday. So I don’t know what to text her now since the semester is over. Do you know what I should say. Yes!, richie684 is right. Movies are a great way to get to know someone. Especially for shyer people who may not want to have to talk the whole time. I personally LOVE going to the movies with friends, or on dates. They are my go to activity no matter the occasion. :)

I never played any Rayman game until Legends and very unexpectedly, I too enjoy it more than Mario. I am still a huge Mario fan tough.

Last of Us fooled everybody with its very well-done staging. The story and scenario were absolutely generic. Plus, the gameplay was terrible ( and felt terrible, but the fanboys seem to have forgot about that ) on some levels.
Not a bad game, for sure, but definitely not GotY. Kinda sad to see people letting themselves fooled like that. I’m starting to think that they really haven’t shit to play on PS3, at the point they are desperate and name any game that do a li’l better than the others a GotY… Oh well…

Rayman Legends needs some recognition. It´s such an inventive, fun and charming game but it flopped on every platform.
The makers of NSMB should definitely take notes from Rayman
