Amazon Puts Rayman Legends Ahead Of Super Mario 3D World In Game Of The Year List

Popular online retailer Amazon.com has put together a list of their favourite games of 2013 spanning all formats. The well received Super Mario 3D World is placed ninth in Amazon’s best games of 2013 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is placed in 3rd. Interestingly multiplatform game Rayman Legends has been placed in seventh position beating Super Mario 3D World. However, the online retailer has placed the critically acclaimed The Last of Us as Game of the Year.

  1. The Last of Us
  2. Rogue Legacy
  3. Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
  4. Tearaway
  5. GTA V
  6. Bioshock Infinite
  7. Rayman Legends
  8. Divekick
  9. Super Mario 3D World
  10. Ni No Kuni

      1. Calm down…. Rayman Legends is actually a very, very good platformer, but not as inventive as Mario 3D World. Mario wins on multiplayer and design.

      2. Both games are amazing enough to make the “which is better?” argument subjective. They are the two best platformers of the year and are both inventive and charming in different ways. Not sure which I prefer but both opinions make sense to me.

    1. Sickr actually pointed out that his job’s a Morton’s Fork situation:

Post a lot of good news, and he’s accused of being a fanboy.

Post a lot of bad news, and he’s accused of trolling the fanbase.

He’s posting news about Nintendo, not praising the game company.

He posts both good news and bad news.

He just can’t help it that many of the news that came about tend to anger Nintendo fans.

      1. aaaaaaam no, why would ever he need to comment that RAYMAN LEGENDS came first on the listing?, when another fucking 7 game did, it just click bait, he could posted the article as “super mario 3d wolrd nominated on the amazon list for game of the year”, but NOPE, RAYMAN LEGENDS OMG ARGUE YOU TROLL AND FANBOYS, GIMME HITS GIMME!!!, i like him, but he’s a douche

    1. Divekick is awesome and you know it, I’m surprised it isn’t at the number one spot though. It’s a very deep game where you have to analyze what your opponents next attack will be (divekick or divekick). The producers of this game is also a great part of why it’s so great. Normally a game is made by a number of people working together for the finished product, but DIVEKIIIIIIIIIICK was made by a group of inter-galactic apes with ADHD!

  1. I think the list is good but I think they over compensation for the vita’s best game.

But Sickr, if you don’t mind answering, why did you name the title like that? I don’t see why its important to note a different game over another. One’s opinion shouldn’t really influence a title name for this article.

I feel the Article should have been named
“Mario 3D World and Link Between Worlds are among Amazon’s Favorite 2013 Games” or “3D World and Link Between Worlds one of Amazon’s Top 10 2013 Games”

I just feel like you wanted to start up a controversy with the title.

      1. eh, I don’t take it that why but this one just stood out but it would have been obvious he was trolling if he had put Tearaway was above 3D World

    1. Because he knew that Nintendo fans love Mario 3D world a lot, so he knew that others would be disappointed that Rayman Legends beat it.

I don’t know what was in his mind at the time of posting this, but it’s his job to post news here, not to offer praise to Nintendo. (Even if it seems that he’s trolling at times.)

  2. So what? fuck you Sickr, you’re a retarded attention whore who just wants flamewar between the users. That’s why you put idiotic titles like that. Because you LOVE flamewars.

    2. I know right? Instead of just saying Mario and Zelda are in the list, why he has to put focus on X GAME BEATS MARIO! Well, if Mario is at number 9, OF COURSE THERE ARE GAMES BEFORE IT BEATING IT!

Why not just say Amazon’s list includes this games and that’s it? Instead making the news about Rayman beating Mario, it should be about Mario and Zelda in the list, that’s it, no who beat who. I swear this website just love to focus on the NINTENDO WAS BEATEN BY THIS AND THAT! instead of real news.

Make this about the games being on the list, not about who beat Nintendo in the list. Just shows how this site is all about the flamewars.

  3. I will admit, Rayman Legends did have more to it which made it better, so although I liked 3D world a lot as well and Ubisoft has been pissing me off a lot lately, Rayman Legends deserved the spot ahead. It makes more use of the gamepad, the online competitions and daily stages are fun to do, the game just lasts longer and was quite enjoyable in my opinion.
Though I don’t agree with Tearaway or Divekick being ahead of 3D World… Shut the Vita fans up I guess..? I dunno.

    1. Sadly, barely anyone even purchased Tearaway, so there aren’t many Vita fans to shut up about it. It placed high because it’s a genuinely great game.

I liked Rayman Legends, but I’m enjoying 3D World more right now.

    1. World was only fun when you play it with friends, i couldnt play it alone cus it was to linear and the stages werent all that fun except for some of the last few stages and haunted house ones, but the game was a bit similar to Land i think its was why i couldnt enjoy it when playing alone..

      1. I never played it with friends, because I don’t have friends. I LOVED it playing by myself though! I didn’t care that it felt linear. I loved finding all the green stars. That was my favorite part. Also being able to play as Peach!! ^-^

      2. play it with family members, its even better then playing it by yourself, trying to get to the top of the flag, fucking over the one with the crown, pushing/tossing others off the stage, trying to kill all the enemies by yourself, and trying to score better then everyone else is so fun.

But i agree with Richie684, the game feels to linear, and not as fun when you play it by yourself. Legends over 3D world. That doesnt mean 3D World is bad though, because its a hell of a game.

      3. Sorry to hear you dont have friends but it really is fun playing with a couple of people, didnt really care for the green star but all in all i had fun with World just dont think its better than LoU or GTA5 but thats my opinion..

      4. lol! No need to feel sorry. I don’t have friends because I don’t care to have any. I’m not a loner or a hermit or anything to that extreme. I just really value my personal time a lot more than the average person. In fact, I have no trouble conversing or going out into “public.” I am just really, REALLY bothered by the presence of other people. :P

      5. I feel the sane way sometimes. I’m a person who like to have my own space for peace. I met this girl in my last week of classes but we only exchanged numbers last friday. We only had one text session for a test that we took on Monday. So I don’t know what to text her now since the semester is over. Do you know what I should say. I kind of like her, but I don’t know what to text her that won’t sound awkward. :(

      6. ask her what she’s in to, like movies or something along those lines, it just might lead up to going out watching a movie or something or talk about the test and how you both did…

      7. Yes!, richie684 is right. Movies are a great way to get to know someone. Especially for shyer people who may not want to have to talk the whole time. I personally LOVE going to the movies with friends, or on dates. They are my go to activity no matter the occasion. :)

  5. Well, why can’t these news just say these two games are in the list instead of starting a flaming RAYMAN LEGENDS BEATS MARIO! thing?

I don’t know what’s with this website with troll bait news, specially the name of these articles, RAYMAN BEATS MARIO IN AMAZON’S BEST GAMES OF THE YEAR! Well, how about the other 8 games that beat it on the list? But no, since Rayman is also a platformer, let’s put Nintendo down just because a website decided to put it first, and probably this is based more on sells than quality. Mario 3D World has had 10/10s, Rayman hasn’t.

Anyway, why don’t you just go full troll and say EIGHT GAMES BEAT MARIO AND TWO GAMES BEAT ZELDA IN THE AMAZON LIST!, since this is what this site is here for, put Nintendo down, and start a raging comment section of fans mad and trolls laughing, that is why this website makes articles named like this.

Why not just say AMAZON INCLUDES ZELDA AND MARIO IN THEIR LIST!, why not just that? No, we have to put focus Rayman beat Mario, just to feed the trolls, thank you, My Nintendo News!

Post bad news (or bad news alongside the good ones), and he’s accused of being a troll.

He’s trying to post both good news and bad news.

He just can’t help it that most of the news he comes across are “bad ones”.

  9. Last of Us fooled everybody with its very well-done staging. The story and scenario were absolutely generic. Plus, the gameplay was terrible ( and felt terrible, but the fanboys seem to have forgot about that ) on some levels.
Not a bad game, for sure, but definitely not GotY. Kinda sad to see people letting themselves fooled like that. I’m starting to think that they really haven’t shit to play on PS3, at the point they are desperate and name any game that do a li’l better than the others a GotY… Oh well…

Rayman Legends needs some recognition. It´s such an inventive, fun and charming game but it flopped on every platform.

The makers of NSMB should definitely take notes from Rayman
