Italian Nintendo blog Wii Italia is reporting that GameStop stores across Italy are telling customers that the Wii U version has been cancelled by Ubisoft. The rumour originally came from one of their readers who tried to pre-order the game at multiple GameStop stores in Italy, so the site decided to ring the stores and place pre-orders but were told that Ubisoft has cancelled the game on the platform. Hopefully Ubisoft should be able to clarify what’s going on with the Wii U version of Watch Dogs over the next few days.

i hope it’s not true, but my friend working at gamestop told me that several third party games that were going to come out for wii u are no longer in gamestop’s records, watch dogs being one of them. when my friend asked his manager what happened to those games, the manager said that gamestop had to take them off the list by order of the publishers, and no other explanation was given to gamestop by these publishers. they presume the games have been delayed or canceled. i have a bad feeling that they are canceled due to wii u’s low sales.

Most of the Wii U features are being used for the real ‘next-gen’ systems. Using Xbox Smartglass & PS Vita. Also, tablets will have a Watch Dogs app. So, the Wii U features aren’t very special tbh.

Wii U had its best month in sales for the US (or maybe North America) selling more than 500K since its launch and they sold another 600K or more in Japan. Yes they sold over a million that month not counting Europe, Korea, any other country that might sell them.

Ubi practically launched the WiiU single handedly. Nintendo brought the Calvary too late.
It would suck if this where true, but they’ve put more effort into the WiiU than Nintendo, so I’d understand.
Unfortunately Ubisoft forgot to ‘LAUNCH’ the Wii U with the game that gave everyone their first Wii U experience to start with.
Postponing a finished game for nearly a year certainly cannot be glossed over. They have no room to point fingers. They are just as greedy as every other company.
And Nintendo didn’t bring the cavalry “too late.” The people who are buying Wii Us now are the people that would have bought Wii U has the games that are available now been available then. People that aren’t buying Wii U’s now (that know about it) still won’t buy Wii U’s later when all the bombs have been dropped. The Wii U has twice as many games and better quality games than the PS4 and yet the PS4 outsells the Wii U week after week.

Not true. After checking their website I am not sure that they can be trusted as it seems like they won’t be selling every version of the game in all platforms. I believe that they have decided not to sell a version of the game in wii U (D1 to be concrete) there is the link http://www.gamestop.it/WiiU# If you put it in your basket and you review your order it will appear the word “cancelled” in Italian beside it. This site should only publish “serious” news about Games and Consoles and stop contributing to this nonsense against Nintendo. Why when I have just read a nice interview of ANOTHER indie developer who is bringing 2 games to Nintendo eShop in the future (one of them look really nice, see “master reboot”) again, why are we contributing to this Nintendo doom nonsense from here? See, this indie developer clearly stated that are trully happy with Nintendo, the Wii U console and its unique features offered by the gamepad. They also confirmed that they will continue working with Nintendo in the future.
Nintendo and wii U, for so many reasons (some are bad, some are good) it is little by little becoming an indie paradise for the looks of it. Are this type of news avoided here on purpose?
