Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Wii Party U and Super Mario 3D World sold one million units each worldwide. While these aren’t fantastic sales, it should be reiterated that The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD only took around 6 months to develop, so it’s clearly a good return on investment. However, this sales figure is likely to include bundles.
With respect to “Wii U,” Nintendo released key first-party titles such as “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD,” “Wii Party U” and “Super Mario 3D World” from the summer toward the year-end sales season. While these titles each sold over one million units.

pikmins never been a massive seller anyway i don’t think but the still made pikmin 3 so i think pikmin 4 will happen long way a way though.
yes. I do want a pikmin spinoff for 1 game per handheld genetation where you play as the pikmin and maybe try to build pikmin communities. cough pikmin SimCity cough lol. and I want a ice climber reboot. and kid Icarus to have wii u game even if not made by sakurai.
these kind of franchises don’t sell that much because Nintendo doesn’t make them too often. make it regularily and bingo million sellers.

Sadly I don’t think it will happen…Miyamoto is old and considering retirement. I think his swan song will be the new franchise he is rumored to be working on. If Miyamoto leaves, I don’t think there is anyone else willing to take on a Pikmin 4 project.

vgz uses self adquired stats, im pretty sure the most trusted forum is neogaf, in this case
VG Chartz data is extremely unreliable so we don’t post it. I remember they posted that the Wii U outsold Xbox One in December, when in fact the Xbox One was the best-selling home console in the US during that month. I have no idea where they get their figures from, but they are way off.

Well Mario Kart 8 is the last thing. If they don’t move sales drastically then it’s all over for the Wii U. It will either be like the gamecube or worse to the point of virtual boy or dreamcast.

Maybe I should explain. I try not to stay in this stock, sells and number things. I just want to play video games. I might hope and analyze here and there but I try not to focus on them. I usually buy most third party on other platforms depending on some factors. It doesn’t effect me really because I support more then one platform. In end I don’t care like most gamers tend to do about these numbers.

Since Wii U hasn’t sold much, this means that about 1/3 Wii U owners own WW HD, assuming that it sold about 1.90 million. That’s pretty amazing.
Since there is basically 30-40 games to choose from and half of Wii U owners are most likely Nintendo fans: not it’s not.
