The box art for Mario Kart 8 has been unveiled by Nintendo. Several characters are displayed on the upcoming kart-racing game’s cover, including Toad, Luigi, Peach, Bowser and the bright-eyed Mario. Poor Luigi seems to have no idea he’s about to get smacked by a Red Shell. Mario Kart 8 will be released in May for Wii U.

Why not? Every MK game only has 16 courses, with the exceptions of the SNES, GBA, and arcade games. I’d be disappointed if retro courses weren’t included, since it would be interesting to see how the antigravity, glider, and underwater driving would work with them, and maybe we could see courses from the arcade games too.
Do you want your new game to be only half new? It’s not unreasonable to ask Nintendo to not phone this one in.
People WANT to see old courses revamped for the consoles graphical capabilities and to remind themselves of the good times. If you dont want to play old tracks, then Play the Nitro tracks and dont play online. Thats how simple it is.
Then there should be a game created specifically for celebrating the past tracks. Wii Mario Kart feels like a cheat.
but……….every mk game has retro courses……………..BUT they are improved and if you noticed one of them is revealed and looks entirely different as the wii u can offer more. sooooooooo yeah.

No, now youre just BSing. They are, for a reason, called RETRO tracks. Not ”half the levels were from the last one or two that came out”, more like a combination of certain tracks in previous Mario Karts. The purpose is to reexplore those tracks. The entire game is new, including with new Retro tracks.

If Nintendo would’ve brought back Double Dash’s dual players/karts as an optional game play, man that would be heaven for me. The more MK gameplay varieties, the better.
I would have liked that as well. DD is my favorite MK game.
So far only the box art is better than Double Dash by a bit. We’ll have to see if Nintendo can finally beat the funnest Kart racing game ever(that was made by them lol).

This may be just me… but I hardly think of a Mario Kart game as a System Seller… it may be, but I seriousy doubt it. I’m a Nintendo Fan btw… Can’t wait for X and Zelda… also Super Smash Brothers!

Also, note that Mario Kart 7 is still selling. I’m sorry to ruin your trolling but you really need to learn that the only one is dead is the Xbone and Sony seeing how Sony just lost over a billion dollars thanks to their computer business, not to mention Nintendo is still gaining money even after the mild drop in their stocks and are still building new buildings.
Another thing is that the Xbone is actually losing Microsoft money seeing how the console can’t run in 1080p at 60fps yet the Wii U can… so all in all the PS4 is Sony’s life support machine (I love the PS4 by the way but I don’t kiss their ass like you do) and Microsoft is just failing badly.

If Nintendo is Smart, they will find a way of making a Wii U bundle with this game adding a cheap gift and sell it with a profit.
They did it with wii when it came out So i’m sure they’ll do it again, plus iwata plans to make mario kart a long sales drive. So expect lots of promotion coming for the game. Plus a bundle will promise a longer sells drive so if they drop mario bros bundle, and make special edition wii u for mario kart and bundle it they will make some good money
