Bravely Default Was Going To Be A Sequel To Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes Of Light

Bravely Default producer, Tomoya Asano, has revealed that the well received Bravely Default was originally going to be a sequel to Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light on the Nintendo DS. Asano says that is why some similarities had been drawn between Bravely Default and Final Fantasy. Here’s what he had to say.

“I think that it’s possible that some of the similarity of item names are due to the fact that we originally conceived of this as a sequel to Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light; it might be just an artifact of that process. But there’s also some deliberate thinking about it as well in that we know that people that were fans of the Final Fantasy series, and there certainly were a lot of them, enjoy seeing similar elements, and we know that it’s fun for them.”

  1. Well that explains why one of the bosses of the demo was named Adamantite Shell. (I didn’t know much about this game till a few weeks ago, so this is news to me if this was already told to people before.)

  2. I’m in the US and can’t download the game. Nintendo didn’t have problems taking my $40, but their fucking joke of a server network again screws me over.

I called. They said to just keep trying. :(

    1. Hard to score a free game when the eShop takes your $$$.

So, you seem like a genius… Nintendo takes my money, my downloads all fail part way through… Now, I hope you took note that Nintendo now has my money… And I don’t have a game… How, exactly, does this score me any chance at a “Free” game?

Take your time answering, you look a little slower than I thought.

      1. What he’s suggesting is that you didn’t pay for the game, but you’re pretending you did to get Nintendo to give it to you regardless, Sherlock. That’s what “scoring a free game” means, and before you ask it’s something that people actually do, and every now and then it even works.

By the way, I’m not saying that he’s right you did do this, I’d just like to suggest you to avoid calling other people “slow” when that argument is all you can conjure up. Maybe you don’t realize this, but using your own statement as evidence that your statement is true is kinda worthless.

        1. Obviously, dear Watson.
What I was asking, is how he came up with such an idea when I already said I paid for it.

You must get exhausted defending your slow little brother. I’m sure he’s always saying stupid shit like this.

Well, despite your knack for pointing out the obvious, it’s nice to see you rescuing the simple minded.

  3. Wowowow really really old news so why do I feel like this was already mentioned in an article on this same site? O_O

  5. Do you really think it is more hunmae to boil it alive, or drown it in fresh water? Easier for us humans’ delicate feelings, may be. But for the poor lobster, I think it may be better to be killed quickly by one big blow. :(
