Rayman Legends has just been re-released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with uncompressed textures, but Digital Foundry believes that the Wii U version of the game is the definitive one. The publication simply says that the game was built from the ground up on the Wii U taking full advantage of the system’s GamePad. Therefore the Wii U delivers the experience that the developers originally intended.
All of which leads us up to an interesting conclusion. Despite the enormous leap in power the new consoles represent, in our opinion it’s the Wii U version of Rayman Legends that remains the definitive edition of the game, with the title taking advantage of the GamePad’s unique features in ways that genuinely add variety and more fun to the gameplay. Let’s not forget that while this game may have been ported to a vast range of different hardware platforms, it started out life as a Wii U exclusive, built around the unique capabilities of the system. Does this mean that the PS4 and XB1 versions will be ported off of the Wii U version, that graphically the game won’t look any better on the PS4 and XB1 than it does on the Wii U and the GamePad gives the Wii U version an edge, or does it mean that the Wii U version will look the best.

the game is great. i have a ps3 and tlou is awesome. the ps3 is on of the best consoles. but my heart beats for nintendo. why because i grow up with them. raymen legend was made for the U and its nice to hear, thats it best version. nintend gets 99% crap ports.

The funny thing is though that with just a little work, even the ports from the other system can be better on Wii U. Call of duty is better on Wii U, aside from slightly better graphics on ps4/xbox. Same with ACIV and Batman arkham city.
And because the wiiu consume less power than Bigbox or Pay$tation and give Full HD games is the proof it’s the true Next Gen. FACT.
So much for delaying Rayman Legends for Wii U as a multiport plan in the first place. Not only Ubisoft did a dick move on Wii U’s launch window/reputation and been proven wrong in many ways by Wii U outselling the others but now the light has surfaced that even the Wii U version is still deemed the definitive over the big bad “powerful” duo PS4 and XBetamax DOne.
