Super Smash Bros Screenshot Unveils New Zelda Fairy Bottle As Healing Item

Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has given us another sneak peek into the brawler – and this time it concerns a new healing item. In the Wii U screenshot, which you can see above, you’ll find Bowser’s up to his old tricks again by capturing a fairy in a bottle. And if you didn’t think his actions from Super Mario 3D World were dastardly, he’s now turned his attention to Hyrule’s fairies – better watch out Link, you might have a new enemy.

According to Sakurai’s Miiverse post, the new item will heal players over 100% in damage. Perhaps the bottle will work in a similar fashion to the Heart Container found in the previous three games – let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

“Hey look, a bottle!! This is a special item that can even heal fighters who have accumulated over 100% damage.”

    1. Probably will as that was the very first thing I thought of when I heard the bottle heals you… It would be a wasted oppertunity if it didn’t.

  1. Can’t believe Sakurai has the courage to show off these screenshots, they look ugly as hell like if this was running on the Wii’s hardware.

  2. I’m honestly shocked it took this long to come out with the item. It seemed kind of obvious to me. Also, the game is looking absolutely beautiful. Love the graphics and artstyle.

    Nice job, Sakurai.

  3. Can’t wait for this mediocre mess to flop with the rest of the garbage Nintendo will put out. Hope someday they will wake up and start making new games like they used to instead of safe and souless cash grabs.

    1. 4. Still laughing at Edge 7/10 review for REHASH Donkey Kong!!
    No use of Gamepad….EPIC fail.
    Terrible load times…Fail.
To similar to the 3DS hit…Fail
    DKTF is so gonna bomb!!

    1. What?
Okay, let me just ruin this comment

      1. It’s Edge, they don’t like anything.
      2. No gamepad use…ok? It’s not a requirement to have it do something.
      3. How is 20 seconds, or so “terrible”? Clearly you forgot about things like the MGS4 install times, and many other scenarios like that. Frankly the only game that impressed me or made me even care about load times was Xenoblade, because it takes like a second to warp around a map, and only 10 to move to a completely different area.
      4. WHUUUUT?! It’s similar to the game that it predecessor?! Lets just throw out every sequel that has ever existed. Who cares how much people like Persona, Metal Gear, Zelda, and the thousands of other games that have had sequels….seriously, where is your brain?

    2. You seem to care a bit too much about something you obviously shouldn’t.
I have two recommendations for you, feel free to pick whichever makes you happier:
      1.- Get a life.
      2.- Get psychological treatment.

    3. The fact that you haven’t even done the research enough to tell whether TF’s predecessor was originally on Wii or 3DS is a blow to your credibility as a critic, and if you’re just citing information from the Edge review (I haven’t read it), then they’re the ones who are less credible.

  5. I have to agree, that screenshot is not that pretty and something seems very off there. Like the contrast or whatever filter/rendering engine being used is blowing out the contrast especially around the fringe areas of the scene.

    As for the trolls;
I think maybe someone is bored with their fancy new console/s and trying to alleviate the boredom by hanging out here by acting up.

Go home trolls and go play your PS4s or XBoxOnes.

    1. I think it will, heart containers only heal up to 100%, while Sakurai said this one will heal above 100% (probably full heal).

  6. As we all know, there is a lot riding on this game. WiiU can’t be saved by Mario Kart alone.

Nintendo grossly misjudged the market. We want online play. Fantastic franchises wasted by not including it.

    Pikmin
Nintendo Land (yes, could have been really fun with online play)
    Mario 3D World.

So, we’re coming down to the last wave, for a while anyway. MK8, Smash. Both with online play.

I also hope Metroid features something akin to online death matches, or better yet, some type of coop like mass effect. That will exponentially increase it’s value and longevity.

    1. It has nothing to do with the crispness of the imagery, rather it is the blown out contrast that is iffy looking. I hope they give the game a thorough scrub-through before release.

  11. I see an endocrinologist for my thyroid and each time I check with for her support in zxt bee pollen, she would not have got a superior answer for me. My PCP encouraged lap band many years ago and that i just am not sure it is for me. I am fearful of the dangers and i do desire to get expecting once again. I am not so snug regarding the notion of owning the band with a infant in there! I am looking at it..but I do not need to make that call still. I’m making an attempt to lose it alone, but it’s actually not easy.
