Nintendo of Europe has launched a new video detailing which Game Boy Advance games will be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console next month. Yesterday, Nintendo France revealed that Advance Wars would be one of the first GBA titles available from April 3. Now, Metroid Fusion and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga joins Advance Wars on the start date. All games can be purchased at €6.99 in Europe or at £6.29 in the UK. Here’s a list detailing when you can grab the various games shown in the video.
I’ve read they are having trouble with GBA games on the 3DS. Apparently the 3DS is not powerful enough to run GBA games in the VC standard (meaning you can’t suspend the games like you can with other VC games). Ambassador GBA games work just like DS games on the 3DS (if you push HOME it doesn’t suspend the game, instead it asks if you want to close).
I don’t think releasing mobile games on the WiiU is a good move, and everybody would be much more happy to get GC on Virtual Console.
Also, there are still hundreds of fantastic SNES games that need to come out on WiiU VC as well (so we can play them on the gamepad, instead of being stuck to Wii Mode on the TV)… Nintendo sure is taking its time releasing their back catalog for the WiiU… :(
Well if they release them all at once. People will only cherry pick just a few and ignore everything else. While doing it slowly will get people to check them all out if they have time as they wait for their favorites to be released
Because… There are no normal games coming until Mario Kart 8… And this is coming from a fan that realises that the Wii U needs those game really quick.
And it might be the fact that the Wii made me a gamer but I’m already kinds bored with Nintendo games… I mean, the New Super Mario Bros series is stupid and I only have two games, the Mario 3D series isn’t as fun as Mario Galaxy and Donkey Kong tropical freeze is a good game but the loading screen stuttering is just aweful… It kinda takes down the quality feel the rest of the game has. Also, they should have made their own freaking hard drive and not just say here use anyone because I spent €100 on a hard drive that errors because the USB ports on the Wii U don’t give it enough power. I know they recommended using one that plugs into the wall but good luck finding that in days like these because every other device can give those kind of drives enough power…
They made some big mistakes with the Wii U and sometimes I do feel like I bought it to early, but I also had allot of fun on it.
Exactly. I can’t seem to realize how people even let Nintendo slide with this stuff. GBA games on Wii U. Great. Now I can play decade old games on my TV. Yay. How about we get more third party? Or maybe an integrated account system? Hm? Seriously..

While I’m happy to hear this news, they’re basically releasing the ambassador games along with a few extras. I’m not complaining but I hope they release more in a steady stream, and throw pokemon and DK sonewhere in there and maybe even those exclusive japan-only titles.
I wish they’d put Yoshi’s Island from SNES on there instead of a low res, two button knock off
Agreed!
isn’t the GBA more powerful than the SNES
Why put GBA games on Wii U instead of putting them on 3DS. Wii U should’ve gotten GC games not GBA.
I think it’s because of the Wii U needs titles more. And it’s a way to showcase the gamepad. But they should’ve just done both.

the wii mode supports the gamepad screen now, you do know that right
The wiiu is going to be the next handheld so these games should work on that also.
Cool music :D
YES finally handheld on my tv!
YES finally Golden Sun!
Agreed, best RPG ever…
No. Final Fantasy, Earthbound, and the Witcher exist too ya know…
Captain Falcon confirmed on SSB4 in April 17!!!
all nintendo does lately is talk about indy games of virtual games. no real normal games coming on wii u.

How about the U.S?
Can’t wait for all the N64 games to start coming out for the 3DS VC…
Putting N64 games on VC would be impossible

8 VC games in one month. That’s awesome. Hope this keeps up for years to come.
Hope mother 3 will be on VC
If you buy a Nintendo system and your not a fan of retro gaming or the Nintendo-verse…
Your gonna have a bad time.
