Mario Kart 8 Demo Coming To The Wii U eShop?

A recently-surfaced rumor has suggested that a Mario Kart 8 demo will be available for Wii U owners. The unconfirmed demo will apparently launch in the Nintendo eShop and is said to contain more than three tracks. Nintendo has yet to announce whether it will release a demo of the upcoming racing title via its online marketplace. Mario Kart 8 is also rumored to feature a Grand Prix mode that supports up to four players. The full game arrives May 30 in stores and in the eShop.

        1. It would have been a nice feature, but I figured they wouldn’t do that. I do agree that the tracks look pretty nice and the retro tracks don’t look like exact replicas of the originals with minor additions, like ramps. A track editor would have been too much for it, unless it was much like Trackmania in that sense.

          1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

If they had a track editor, it would have been the final deathblow on the franchise as nobody would ever buy a new Mario Kart ever again…

            1. So where are the first deathblows? And why would we quit buying new Mario Kart games? There are always things to improve, stuff to add, new ways to play.

It’s not like we will play Mario kart 8 forever and we will never buy a new console and have such great experiences that will make people want to buy a new Mario Kart.

    1. There’s no track editor, because each track is specifically designed and formulated precisely. A lot of work goes into making a track work. A track editor would be far too complicated.

It would end up looking like the SSB Brawl stage builder, because there’s just no way they could allow the user to build as if they were designing actual tracks for the game. It would feel really dumbed down and wouldn’t be worth the effort of the development team.

      1. Why nothing like modnations racers and using the left stick to twist and turn the track? The gamepad could feature shortcuts for track splitting and how the track is laid in the environment etc. All they need then is some decorations they can take from the other levels…

Sure it would take time to develop but it would be awesome, expand the play time and it would create some fuzz because there aren’t that many games that feature something like that.

  1. This is one of those games where you know that you don’t even need a demo for… Lol. It’s just that awesome.

    1. I’d be concerned, as some said above, that a demo would actually delay the purchase of some gamers.

This game needs released with all the passion they put into Mario golf, without a demo until a few months down the line.

  2. some games demos do not convince me to get the game, unless its demos that you get bonuses once you get the full game like conception 2, bravely default and also demos that you can continue once you get the full game like sonic lost worlds, etrian oddessy

  3. A demo would tie me over til Mario Kart 8 actually releases. I hope the demo comes with at least 3 tracks & a few racers. Maybe some bonuses for when the actual game releases if you accomplish certain stuff on the demo like with the Bravely Default demo.

      1. That could work if a lot of stores are still using that setup that allows you to play demos of games from each console. The Wal-Marts in my area don’t do those anymore, sadly.

  4. Am I the only one who actually doesn’t want a demo??i just wanna wait to have full game to play on!

And with mario golf having dlc,can we expect the same with mario kart 8??i wouldn’t mind some more classic tracks as dlc!

  6. As much as I want this, Nintendo isn’t the greatest with demos, not that I’m complaining if it happens though.

  8. I think that instead of a demo on the shop, there will be demo units at stores. The Wii U doesn’t have a problem selling games to the people that already have the system, the problem is getting WiiUs sold. So what better way then to have demo stations setup.

  9. I certainly hope this is true! I’ve been dying to play something on my Wii U aside from Netflix!

      1. And while PS4/One is going through the same BS as Wii U did, everybody has a fucking problem when Nintendo suffers the same as the competition yet blindly overlook them when they don’t have games yet sale off like crazy for no reason.

This generation is already looking pathetic and sad at the same time.

  10. Well… seeing as this would be a REALLY good idea by Nintendo…. I’m assuming it’s not true. :x

  13. I phone has been a trend setter in terms of business and funky phones for
last few years and since its launch, it has been a rage in all age groups of society.
It will be available in silver, gold and space gray. This will appeal to young adults in their early 20’s and even teenagers who often beg for an i – Phone as their birthday gift.
