Nintendo Europe Announces Mario Kart 8 Wii U Premium Bundle

With just over a month to go until gravity-defying racing comes to Wii U in the shape of Mario Kart 8, Nintendo has today announced that a Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack – Special Edition Wii U hardware bundle will accompany the launch of the game on 30th May.

The release of the Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack – Special Edition represents an ideal offering for first-time Wii U owners, with a black Wii U Premium console with 32GB* of storage packaged alongside a black Wii U GamePad controller, Sensor Bar, and the all-important Mario Kart 8 game disc. With Mario Kart 8 set to feature 16 remixed classic courses, as well as 16 courses that are brand new to the series, both newcomers and veteran drivers alike will face fresh karting challenges with the added twist of a new antigravity feature allowing Mario and company to race upside down or up vertical surfaces.

While the likes of Bowser’s minions – all seven of the pesky bunch – will be playable for the first time in Mario Kart history from 30th May, experienced drivers such as Princess Peach and Yoshi have featured in all games in the series to date. Fans wishing to pay tribute to these two legendary racers can get their hands on new Wii Remote Plus Peach and Wii Remote Plus Yoshi controllers, both of which will release on 30th May, the same day as Mario Kart 8 launches in stores and on Nintendo eShop. Decked out in all pink with signature flashes of blue and yellow, the Wii Remote Plus Peach features a regal touch on the front of the controller in the form of a white crown. Meanwhile, the Wii Remote Plus Yoshi controller comes complete in a green and white shell, with an iconic Yoshi egg adorning its front.

As a reminder, fans looking to pick up Mario Kart 8 alongside a special collectible can also get their hands on a Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition software bundle, which comes complete with a Spiny Shell Collector’s Item alongside a physical copy of the game. The Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition software bundle is available to pre-order while stocks last including from the Official Nintendo Online Store.

Just over one month remains until Mario and other legendary racers from the Mushroom Kingdom line up at the starting grid in Mario Kart 8, complete with 32 new and remixed classic courses influenced by antigravity, new items to unleash during the heat of a race, and a host of ways to enjoy the action including 12-player online competitive play, and four-player local multiplayer

    1. So what you’re saying is that unless this bundle comes to the US, you won’t buy a Wii U and will skip a game that you are clearly interested in playing?

      1. Dumbass, he’s saying if Iwata has any intelligemce left, releasing MK8 bundle in the US will greatly benefit the sales and would likely catch up or surpass PS4.

      1. SherlockWillFightBilbo

Maybe not. There could be framerate issues. Sonic yada yada Transformed got five-player local, but I don’t think it is graphically up to MK8. I don’t know what the framerate was for Sonic either. It might have been low.

        1. That’s a good point. Hopefully they can fit 5 players one way or another even if it does drop the framerate, I’m assuming it should be 60 FPS by default though right?

    2. I just don’t seenthis game boosting Wii U sales. Like, at all… Literally almost no one is buying Wii U. If people really wanted MK8, they’d have bought a Wii U in advance and pre order the game. Sales of the U hasn’t been doing well at all in this past month and MK8 is about a month away now. I don’t see it happening. Nope.

      1. If you wanted the game and didn’t have the system, why wouldn’t you get the bundle that has a lower price. Mario kart normally sells huge amounts so this could either do well or completely flop, It all depends on whether nintendo wants to advertise or not

        1. Mario Kart sold huge amounts because of the gigantic fanbase back then. Almost all of them have moved on to other consoles. The Wii U is already $300. And I doubt that price really has much impact. 1/2 Wii U games puts you up to the PS4’s price. I can probably see this boosting sales mainly by the people who already own or wanted a Wii U. Smash Bros is what would’ve saved the Wii U and that chance is gone now. Who knows how much PS4 and XB1 would have sold by the time winter comes…

      2. You say some smart things a lot but then you come & say stupid shit like this. As Sonicguy 726 said, why buy a Wii U beforehand if there is even a chance of a Wii U bundle with the game for free coming out? If I recall, Wii U sold some Wii U consoles when they released the Wind Waker HD bundle. In fact, I already had a Wii U but I bought the Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle & gave my old Wii U to my brother who wanted his own Wii U.

        1. The Wii U is selling badly right now. Wind Waker HD did nothing. As a matter of fact, a couple kids in my class were just talking about it. Here are their direct quotes. “Oh, what about Wind Waker?” “Nah…” “Why woould they want you to buy it anyway on Wii U? Isn’t that game like.. old?” “There’s really no difference. It’s just HD” There. You see that? That’s what most people think about Wii U. I wouldn’t be surprised if those same dudes called MK8 an HD MKWii. It might boost sales, but I’m telling you. It isn’t really gonna help…

          1. You just mentioned a few kids in your class. That’s not most people. You can’t judge everyone on just a few people. That’s like saying all Germans are evil because of the Nazis. Or saying all muslims are terrorists because of the extremists.

            1. Look at GTA V and CoD sales for example. Every person I know (well gamers) are talking about those games. The sales are insane. There is no way that just the kids in my school can make GTA V sell like that. Meanwhile, I haven’t met a single person yet who owns a Wii U or even talks about it. Even I don’t talk about it. Just saying the name alone might get you laughed at. “Wii U” C’mon now, Nintendo…

              1. What does GTA V & CoD sales have to do with this? Anyway, I guarantee you there is a group of people within the GTA V & CoD buyers that own WWHD and Wii U. As for the name, that’s your problem if you’re afraid of what people will think of you for owning one. You must live in an area with a ton of immature people if just saying the name will get you laughed at, which sucks. Just have to man up & deal with it. Who knows!? You might just get a surprise & end up attracting other Wii U owners in your area.

      1. If this wont maybe a smash bros bundle will. Anyway won’t a wii u/3ds smash bros bundle be just awesome?

          1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Just to be clear, I will have it this year no matter what and probably before summer is over…

          2. If I was the “Commander” of Nintendo, I’d get us some freaking Third Party support. Even if I have to force myself to use extra money.

          3. He’ll get it when he can. Right now, he has something more important to pay for than a video game console. He might go overboard with being a Nintendo fan but least he has other stuff to do than just play video games all the time.

              1. Well he’s in college, or a university, so I can understand if he doesn’t have enough money. Unless they have rich parents or come from well paid families, a lot of college & university kids have to live off of ramen noodles. For all we know, he’s barely able to eat & buying a Wii U console & buying games would put him in a position of starving to death.

                1. a job can do, I got 2 of them…true story…2 hours every morning, and my government job for helping the elderly people, 3 hours and a half daily. I got at least over 250 dollars from one and over 450 from my other…and I still got time, did my collage this way too.

        1. Watch Dogs, Sonic Boom, Child of Light, Project CARS, Wonderful 101, Fatal Frame, Skylanders Trap Team, Pac Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark, Lego The Hobbit, Disney Infinity 2.0, The Amazing Spider Man 2, One Piece Unlimited World Red, etc.

          1. Most are casual except watch dogs and sonic boom. Wii U owners will miss a lot of games like The Division , Assassins Creed Unity, Batman Arkham Knight, Final Fantasy 15, Kingdom Hearts 3, Mirrors Edge 2, Destiny and many more. If you haven’t got a PS4, xbone or PC yet because your a wii u only owner, then you’re not a real gamer

            1. And shunning out Wii U as well because half of those mentioned games aren’t mentioned to skip Wii U or not?

You ain’t a better gamer yourself dumbass.

              1. *facepalm* You completely missed the point. If you are a real gamer, you’d play all types of games. Regardless of platforms. Playing only Nintendo games doesn’t make you a real gamer. And this is coming from someone who only owns a Wii U.

            2. Not a real gamer? The fuck does that mean? That I have to play realistic or shooters only? I have a PS4, but id rather play my Wii U

            3. “If you haven’t got a PS4, xbone or PC yet because your a wii u only owner, then you’re not a real gamer”

              Get out.

            4. I’m likely more of a real gamer than you are, but I only have a Wii U because I can only afford one console and Nintendo’s games are the best so it comes first.

                  1. And WTF is Zynga? lol

Oh that’s right, a company nobody but cheesy ass flash website gamers gives a single fuck about.

                    1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Only the millions of civilians and traitors that knows nothing of real games…

I hope there is a world wide system crash in all these pathetic civilian empires…

            5. So you’re saying we should just ignore Nintendo altogether in favor of shallow ass realistic shooters made and released every 11 months cramped with shitty, overpriced DLCs along with that DRM crap and pay for online play on PS4/XBetamax DOne?

You ain’t no true yourself motherfucker now go have fun with your buggy ass copy of Battlefield 4.

            6. The Division, we’ve already played Last of Us and Resident Evil thank you very much.

Batman: Arkham Knight, its a shame its skipping Wii U but we still got Arkham City and..that other incomplete prequel garbage who shall not be named.

Kindom Hearts 3, one of the staff behind the game says KH3 on Wii U is possible but has to be recoded to run on it so its in the cards.

Final Fantasy 15,..15? We’re up to 14 with another several spin offs and FF13 pretty much fucked the series enough for us to give a damn anyway so no FF Wii U doesn’t bother us.

Mirror’s Edge 2, another short ass boring game of EA that none of us Wii U owners will care about since EA gave us the bird for rejecting thier cancer Origin to infect our systems with Spyware tactics so, again, doesn’t bother us.

Destiny, that game coming to Wii U or not hasn’t been revealed yet so keep your thong on please and wait until there’s more info.

Many more…many more what? Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zero..a flashy $30 demo you can beat in TEN MINUTES? No thanks. What else? Deadrising 3? Nah, we got ZombiU which is far scarier than most recent horror imposing games but its an underrated game because of some setback glitches and people acting so chickenshit to play so they gave it a crap review to make people avoid what it is. Next? The Crew? We got real racing games like Mario Kart 8 and Project Cars to satisfy us. Watchdogs? Even though Ubisoft fucked us by delaying the game like Rayman Legends, at least we’re still getting it. Ultra Street Fighter 4: DLC #8? Smash Bros. 4 will kick far better ass in their department.

              Your move loser.

              1. As Ron Simmons of WWE would say: DAMN!!! Great job dissecting his post! I wonder if he’ll try to come up with a comeback.

              2. What the fuck? Did you just say Mario Kart is a real racing game? I don’t even… Mario Kart 8 isn’t MEANT to be a real racing game. People appreciate it because it’s more of a cartoon style rather than realistic. And I cannot believe you just you don’t want Final Fantasy 15. Nintendo gamers would fucking LOVE to have this. No excuses. This isn’t a FPS like CoD. What the hell… And LOL. Dissing Street Fighter.. One of the best fighting games ever made. Nintendo got SF2 and EVERYONE loved it. I bet your ass you’d be praising it if it was on the Wii U. Mirror’s Edge has been regarded as one of the best games of 7th gen, so that’s bullshit you’re talking about. Destiny isn’t coming. And you know it isn’t. Been confirmed that KH3 is skipping. MGSV: The Phantom Pain is coming eventually, so that’s invalid about MGSVGZ. Please stop. You are a fucking disgrace to Nintendo fans and the reason it’s getting no third party.

                1. Jesus christ.. I just realized how negative I sounded.. o_O Sorry about that guys. And just so you know I AM a Nintendo fan. Just not a fanboy. I don’t pick sides with either of these companies. Not a raging fanboy. Just a pissed off Nintendo fan. I want third party, but everytime there’s a chance, Nintendo fanboys shoot it down! Like “Oh we don’t need this game” Or “That game is crap anyways”. I hate this! I am the only non biased freaking gamer here?!?!

                2. So because Mario Kart isn’t realistic in graphics that it isn’t a real racing game? All right. If you think so.

                3. It’s funny how if a game comes to t wii u it’s amazing and a must buy, but if it doesn’t come to wii u it’s a shit game and nobody wanted to play it anyways.

                  1. *Need for Speed: Most Wanted U: I won’t say it’s “shit”, but it’s not a must-buy for me since I loathe open-world racers. Now, if it had arcade elements like Crazy Taxi, I’d have bought it day 1.

Assassin’s Creed III & IV are on Wii U, but not a must-buy for me, either. Compared to its inspiration (Prince of Persia), yeah, imo, it’s a neutered game. I played AC II, which is supposedly the best, but I was disappointed. Watch_Dogs might be the 1st sandbox game that really appeals to me (though AC II & Transformers: The Game were the only sandbox games I’ve played, unless Xenoblade & Zelda could be labled as such; dunno the exact criteria for ‘sandbox’). Huh, I felt Transformers: The Game was better than the live-action movie, simply because I expected the movie to actually revolve around the Transformers like the 1st TMNT movie did w/ their titular characters. Oh, & Frank Welker was back as Megatron. Anyway, guess the more realistic the CGI is in a live-action movie, the costlier it is, & that in turn means less screen time for that CGI. In games, well, better audiovisuals usually means shorter gamplay & unpolished controls. Whatever, my childhood is crapped upon the further into the future I live, whether it’s G1 Transformers (though Prime [TV series] was the best incarnation of all), or video games.

Batman on Wii U just isn’t as fun as Batman Vengeance on GCN (also on PS2 & Xbox). While I prefer the more serious approach, they kinda lose that when they add too much brawling, muscles, & gadgets.

I can’t say much on the multiplat FPSes that are on Wii U since I prefer them to be like Red Steel (mostly 2), The Conduit (mostly the 1st), & FPASes like Metroid Prime.

Speaking of FPSes, I disliked Turok & Golden Eye, both N64 exclusives, & never touched Perfect Dark, so it doesn’t matter to me what console brand it’s on, or even the publisher, that’s all just short-hand. But since the 7th gen. I’ve seen so many games on non-Nintendo consoles that are loathesome, or that just don’t mesh w/ the Ninty culture. The 6th gen., man, I was jealous of Dreamcast & PS2’s libraries (& Panzer Dragoon Orta on Xbox), but @ least the multiplats that did grace the GCN fit Nintendo (I even liked Dead to Rights). I’m glad Wii wasn’t treated like a triplet. Alas, exclusives & certain genres & IPs died, so Wii U was treated like a triplet, & poorly @ that.

            7. The same things can be say for the ps4 or xbox one owners. If you only have a ps4 you will miss Mario kart, Super smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, Zelda, Metroid, X, Fatal Frame, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario 3d World, The Wonderfull 101 etc etc… And excuse me but if we are telling about casual games, for me all the FPS (except for Bioshock) are casual games. Tomb Raider 2013 is a casual game ’cause the difficulty level are so declining et that’s the same for a lot of games.

              1. Exactly. Sticking with one system and blindly calling the rest crap is just idiotic and shallow. I have my every right reasons to despise Xbox One and of course those reasons is Microsoft betraying consumer trust with DRM and even lied about DRM being “removed” but only those who have a braincell left can figure that simplicity out plus the system being too expensive, forcing that gimmick Kinect garbage which failed hard before and the console having issues with 1080p and can’t properly run without exploding on itself.

PS4, I will eventually buy it but when it has better games available and no Battlefield, EA Sports, COD or any of those multiplatform crap don’t count but thanks to Sony playing copycat again, they made online play a paid service like Live even if its cheaper. That is why I chose PS3 over 360 last time.

PC, never played a single PC game in my life but Steam has inspired me to try but when I get a better computer later.

                    1. Valve Admiral GLaDOS

Origins: Gives control of digital distribution entirely to EA, heightening the possibility that they may sabotage competing brands(not sure if they would though) also being distributed through digital like Call of Duty to Battlefield.

I don’t think I really have to explain Steam since you might know it what it already does.

            8. I’m Wii U only right now because the PS4 doesn’t have many games that interest me. I only got a Wii U day one because it had quite a few games that I wanted to play as launch titles.

            1. Call of Duty being stripped down for Wii U? lol It was never even graphically and/or technologically advanced and hasn’t been changed for the past 7 years.

COD on Wii U this year is likely since Treyarch (thank god for their passionate work on Wii U platform) always support Nintendo’s side. Just hope this new COD will be far much different but that’s fat chance.

          2. Who in the world would want to play 90% of those games? Oh yeah. Little kids. Lego hobbit and Spider-Man! Whoo love movie games!

Those games totally make up for missing out on every other game in existence. At least we have yoshi yarn to look forward to. Gotta love platformer games since that’s all nintendo can make.

            1. Don’t be an immature idiot. Those games are for all ages which means little kids won’t be the only ones to like some of those games. A truly mature person will enjoy any game no matter what age it is for, anyway, as long as they themselves find it fun. Besides, Yarn Yoshi isn’t much different from those other “kiddy” games.

        2. 3rd parties have been given Nintendo crap for 3 generations. I don’t think this gen is anything new about this old trend of theirs.

No third party games but having kickass 1st & 2nd party games is better than nothing. I rather have no 3rd party at all since I’ve seen their true selfish colors and I ain’t going for their annual release spams and DLC/DRM over consumer trust BS.

          1. Even still, at the end of the day the Wii U seems to be getting more 3rd party support than the Wii at least. Well, it’s getting more support with non-shovelware games anyways.

            1. My Wii library says otherwise. Granted, it took several yrs., but my 3rd part Wii games:

              Red Steel x2 (Ubisoft)

              Rayman: Raving Rabbids (Ubisoft)

Resident Evil Chronicles x2 [Umbrella & Darkside] (Capcom)

              House of the Dead x 2 [2 & 3 Return & Overkill] (Sega)

              Mad World (Sega)

              No More Heroes x2 (Ubisoft)

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core (Aksys)

              Tatsunoko vs. Capcom

Sonic x3 [Secret Rings, Unleashed, Colors] (Sega)

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Sega)

A Boy & His Blob (Majesco)

              Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes (Capcom)

              Tenchu: Shadow Assasins

Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers (D3) [Okay, that might be shovelware]

              Heatseeker (CodeMasters)

              Transformers x2 (Activision)

              Nights: Journey of Dreams (Sega)

Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars (South Peak Games)

              Ghostbusters (Atari)

              X-men Origins Wolverine

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World (Namco)

              Okami (Capcom)

              The Sky Crawlers (Xseed)

              Epic Mickey (Disney)

              Sonic and All-Stars Racing (Sega)

              Sega Superstars Tennis (Sega)

Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love (NIS America)

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon (Xseed)

Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Ignition Entertainment)

              The Conduit (Sega)

              Dead Space

              Castle of Shikigami III (Aksys)

Rygar: The Battle of Argus (Tecmo Koei)

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (Square Enix)

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (Ubisoft)

              The Last Story (Xseed)

I’d forgotten some the last time I posted this. & I still plan on getting few more 3rd party Wii games that aren’t shovelware. Anyway, my Wii U retail library consits of New SMB/ Luigi U (bundled), DK: TF, Sonic Lost World, ZombiU, & Ninja Gaiden 3 (downloaded Rayman Legends). Still waiting for 3rd parties to announce more games (Wii U or otherwise) that I’m interested in. Watch_Dogs, Project CARS, Human Element, Pop, Child of Light…those are the only announced ones I want from major 3rd parties. Slim pickin’s there.

              1. *Tenchu: Shadow Assasins (UBISOFT), Wolverine (ACTIVISION), Dead Space (*cough* EA).

My point w/ listing those 3rd parties is to show the variety in the companies that supported Wii as well as the amount of titles some companies offered.

          2. Actyally, 3rd parties actually supported Nintendo w/ exclusives & multiplats that not only delivered, but catered to the Nintendo gamer. But, toward the end of the 7th gen, 3rd parties shelved a lot of IPs regardless of consoles for sandboxes, FPSes, & anything w/ hardcore visuals but casual gameplay. They even ruined Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Castlevania, rushing, or focusins too much on graphics & quick action, yet spraying ’em down w/ water. Then there’s rampant multiplatting & sequalitus that doesn’t seem to fund the riskier titles anymore (Ubisoft, as treacherous as they are, seem to be taking risks w/ new & once-shelved IPs). The Wii was keeping the 6th gen alive in the 7th gen. But compared to PS2’s quality & varied library, 3rd parties are a joke, thanks most to MS’ money bags & casual PC philosophy.

When the 8th gen started, 3rd parties treated Nintendo fans like they were of the twin culture, but poorly @ that. Hel, they bitched & moaned about a console because it wasn’t PC-like or a triplet; they don’t wanna work on architecture from 1992, but rather architecture from 1978 because apparently familiarity trumps clunkiness. Anyway, no more RE Chronicles, Red Steel 3, The Conduit 3, another Tenchu, Crazy Taxi, Burnout, Ridge Racer, Metroidvania; no more truly hardcore games like Castle of Shikigami III, Ikaruga, Killer7, F-Zero (yep, 1st part letdown), Sin & Punishment (oh but Bayonetta 2’s comin’), Eternal Darkness (oh but Fatal Frame’s comin’) No More Heroes…those difficult, niche games that are as hardcore æsthetically as they are to play (by its very definition not of the mainstream). Instead, Wii U gets rushed ports, missing features, genres & æsthetics that don’t mesh well w/ its audience, misinformation, & cheap, unprofessional potshots.

But indies are supporting Wii U & making actual games. Nintendo still does that w/ DK: TF, Wonderful 101 (via collaboration), Bayonetta 2, Project X, Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, (they tried w/ Ninja Gaiden 3), etc. I’d certainly rather pay for gameplay than excessive graphics, quick-time events, & walking my avatar. Most 3rd parties are powerdrunk, & THQ already paid the price. Capcom is aching pretty badly, too, as are many 3rd parties. They should’ve learned that the limitations of past gens fueled their creativity; they needed to compensate.

Oh, the 3DS is also keeping gaming alive, too (w/ both 3rd parties who know what games are & indies). Still, that 6th gen climate (Dreamcast, PS2, GCN…), Hel even N64 & the original PS offered greater gameplay & selection than the 8th gen. Guess these things happen in every industry. Well, gamings become an institution now, run by shareholders who know nothing about gaming, just lines on a graph & dollar signs.

            1. 3rd parties are so far gone that anything they say, do or creative doesn’t matter to me anymore. They’ve lost that good ol luster and now only concern about money andnusing the cheapest gimmick and selling tactics to fool the masses which are far more stupid than ever to notice.

I know Nintendo and the rest of the handfull of gaming companies will survive because their traditions of gaming are true traditions even though some think its too old fashioned and needed to “evolve” with modern standards which that part is half true but changing too much can also mean the end of what makes a foundation great.

That’s why I’m happy to say that I’m glad to be a Nintendo fan for number of reasons but also questioned about some of their decisions which makes them a company like everyone else. They’ll figure things out and I pray the other half assed companies and competitions do as well.

              1. Praying. That’s your solution to nintendo? Prayer totally works. Look at all the four year old kids with cancer…

                1. Don’t be an asshole. Would it have made you feel better if he said wish instead of prayer? Probably not. You’d still be an asshole & use another poor group of people that are sick to be an asshole.

              2. I happy to be a nintendo fan as well.
I’ve just played wonderful 101 and I could see the creativity getting back and the excelent gameplay that it has..
Zelda WW is excelent to play with the gamepad used as the iten menu and for the map, sometimes I wish they could allow us to draw in the map like phantom hourglass, but ok, the game itself is awesome (I know it is a remake, but I did not play it on gamecube).

              3. Agreed.

Most 3rd parties seem to have the opiates, while Nintendo has the pearls. As we’ve both said before, MS is largely responsible for this madness &, sadly, Sony decided that the only way to compete was to replicate them. Although, Sony’s guilty of playing dirty pool, too (nobody’s innocent). But I really don’t understand why a company (MS) would make a console but w/ each entry lose so much money AND willingly spread possible exclusives on other platforms (namely PC [nothing against PC per se, but exclusives are important]). Dammit, I miss SEGA as a 1st party. I’d be selling my own organs for that Holy Trinity’s return.

But as long as Nintendo puts quality over quanity (for the most part), & retains their magic & icons, I’ll remain a loyal customer. What I feel they need to do is:

*Have more aggressive marketing (w/ out being a dick).

*Revive some of their more hardcore franchises (they don’t all have to be so innovative).

*Envoke the magic that aided the DS & infuse the Wii U w/ it (Trauma Center, Feel the Magic: XY/XX, etc.)

*Ramp up Wii U’s VC releases. A steady mix of GCN, Dreamcast, & N64 games, maybe throw in a DS game or 2.

*Pull Shadow of the Eternals outta limbo onto Wii U.

*Golden Sun U (but better than Dark Dawn).

*Fund an enhanced, HD port of Symphony of the Night, letting the gamepad do what DS’ 2nd screen did for Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, & Order of Ecclesia. I mean it’s the 1st Metroidvania, but Nintendo is the only platform w/ out it. FF IX could use a 2nd screen, & Ninty fans should play FF IX on Wii U. Any great, already established games that could use some touching up.

*Broker & fund more exclusivity deals w/ 3rd parties: NiGHTS, Skies of Arcadia 2, a new Crazy Taxi, Red Steel 3, FF Tactics, Ogre Battle, maybe Prince of Persia should be exclusive while the rest can keep AC.

*Buy franchises outright: Sphinx & the Cursed Mummy, Viewtiful Joe [let Platinum work on it & after 2 games, maybe give it to them]. Buy Mega Man [let Inafune-san work on it, then do the same deal as w/ the ex-Clover team: give it to him].

*Offer IGA a position, or just fund his next venture, either for complete exclusivity or exclusive content.

*Gain more Western studios, @ least as 2nd parties (Shin’en for starters), ensuring they don’t stray too far from the Nintendo philosophy.

*Maybe create a publishing subsidiary for a line of mature games. It might help Nintendo publish more than just Eternal Darkness, Geist, a repaired version of Ninja Gaiden (which didn’t even remain exclusive), & those Fatal Frames (which had no US release).

*Nintendo allows 3rd parties to publish games like The Last Story if they themselves won’t.

Yep, if I had clout @ Nintendo, that’s what I’d push for. Dunno how much money they’d have left, though. Meh, I’m just puffing on a pipedream & wasting space.

                1. All great ideas that Nintendo should do themselves. They have money. Flash it at 3rd parties & offer to help co-develop Wii U exclusives. Maybe they’re greed will trump their laziness.

          3. Lol dlc bothers you? What the fuck? Adding to a game pisses you off?
I wish brawl had DLC. It would have last a little longer.

Btw. Mario golf has season pass.

            Also. Annual release?
Have you not noticed the Mario spam lately? Every year we get a new Mario and every time it some how gets easier…

          4. Better to have a lack of completed games with very little to no glitches than tons of glitchy, unfinished games.

        3. NEVER buy a Nintendo console thinking it’s going to have a huge selection of 3rd party exclusives or have a lot of 3rd party multiplat games. Make sure it has quite a number of Nintendo 1st party & 2nd party games that interest you before buying one.

      1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Please tell me you don’t have an Xbox Done…

I see some “Xbox haters” everywhere and yet they buy it…

        Hypocrites…

        1. No. I have a 360 at home but wasn’t paid for by me. Just some games, a controller and “regrettably” that stupid ass Kinect camera my little sister wanted for Christmas but about that, funny thing is that she hasn’t touched it since beginning of January knowing that its a piece of inaccurate gimmick crap.

And no, I will NEVER even think about wasting $550 on a DRM betamax tryhard cable box bundled with that failure of a camera that’ll explode and burn my house down just to try to achieve 1080p on my 50 inch living room TV.

PS4 (when it has better games) and Wii U plus 3DS is more than enough for me to enjoy real fun video games.

          1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

            Good good…

I’ve only ever touched the first Xbox and I got bored after 10 min…

I would get any PS if it had games that interested me enough to warrant a purchase but it doesn’t…

Nintendo and PC only for me…

            1. You do realize that not actually playing the system doesn’t really give you access to make fun of it, right? ._. I’m not making fun of any console until I play it. I played both XB1 and PS4 at Gamestop and they were both excellent. I don’t care what people say about XB1 really, because there’s an 80% they don’t actually own it and are just being hypocrites. I like all games and I will play all games. I’m going with a Wii U and eventually PC this gen, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna make fun of the other guys. Yeah, I admit, I really don’t care about Kinect, but that hasn’t stopped me from enjoying the other things about Xbox. #Joinforceswithallconsoles

        2. Lol sorry. I bought my xbox one on launch. I like playing games monthly. Not 4 times a year.

          Mario November.
          DK February.
          Mario kart pretty much June.

          What a line up!
          Same as 3d land
          Same as DKC returns
Same as every other Mario kart not named double dash.

I got my wii u on launch and recently sold it. Best decision of my life. Pretending it was a good console gets old. You guys will learn one day. Sell now while it still has a little value.

          1. Really? You’re an idiot. Xbox One has quite a few games that are the same as other games.

            Titanfall: generic FPS with mechs.
Battlefield 4, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6, Evolve, : Patriots: generic FPS
The Crew, Forza Motorsport 5: generic racing game.
Dead Rising 3, The Evil Within: same as other survival horror games.
            Fifa 2014: generic sports game
Killer Instinct, Fighter Within: generic fighting game.

Do you REALLY want me to go on?

          2. LOL well have fun with Kinect Rivals, Son of Rome, the next rehash Call of Duty, and ooooh KINECT! And don’t forget, even a 5 year old can hack your system too! We’ll be busy playing actual high quality games like MK8 and SSB, thabk you very much

  1. Bout time it was confirmed! If its £220 somewhere I’ll buy it, any more than that and I’ll wait til the stores inevitably slash the price to reduce stock. Either way I’m deffo picking this up.

    1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Online retailers usually have cheaper prices…

Don’t expect our empire to drop the prices this soon on this bundle at least…

  2. GREAT news! I like thay the bundle includes the actual game disc, as opposed to the digital download that they’ve been including in most bundles recently. This bundle will really help Wii U sales. Now they just have to bring this to North and South America!

  3. good move! they should have done that already with super mario 3d world, nice to see that they learned from their mistake and offer this package now with mk.
if this bundle is under 300€ it’s a perfect deal for everybody out there. hopefully it will increase sales.

    1. Thuis, they should release allot more special edition consoles. If they can’t sell consoles to new customers sell them to the fans that want the special ones…

But sadly the time of crazy consoles ended with the GameCube…

  4. sorry nintendo
    another epic fail.
    299- pounds for this bundle.
    england dont like nintendo.
no games in the charts no u sales.
and what is nintendo doing about that…
    bring a bundle to expensive.
200 pounds for the special bundle, would be great and there would be some sales.
299.-… for 350 pounds i get a xbox one with titanfall.
Wii U exitus by nintendo itselfs.
this bundle is the only chance for nintendo. sorry was.
maybe i should sell my wii u… because zelda wont come on this system anymore.

      1. im not a cancer.
        im the immune system ;-)
okay serious, im a big n fanboy since 1988. i love my u, but it hurts that nintendo is doing nothing for it.
reggie said before the launch of the wii u, that nintendo want back the old gamers… the adults… the hc gamer. it was a lie!
why nintendo dosent help to finish eternal darkness?
okay fatal frame is announced and i hope this time it comes to europe.

        1. You know that E3 is coming in 2 months don’t you? Nintendo could very well announce that they will fund the rest of Shadow Of The Eternals’s development but then again Eternal Darkness didn’t sell that well which is why they may consider not to but who knows…..anything could happen

  5. its a good move but it was obvious, it would be stupid not to do it. its the biggset game on WiiU that’s coming and that probably will ever come.

    1. And just to think the Wii U version of Smash Bros is going to be released during on this holiday season. If Nintendo makes a bundle for that game and lower the price of the Wii U at the same time to price of maybe $250 it’s will surely destroy the PS4 & Xbox One in sales seeing as neither one has any quality 1st party or 3rd party exclusives coming this year

  6. Nintendo, please bring this bundle to the US also and watch the Wii U and MK8 sales boom like an atomic bomb worldwide. ;) I promise you it’ll work out and be worth it

    1. I honestly don’t see that happening for another 2 years.

They also wanna say Wii U is too expensive when you got a $400/$500 counterpart systems that costs more and offers little to nothing compare to last gen versions of itself.

There was a 500GB PS3 and 360 for cheaper price and both 7-8th gens aren’t even that different or better in comparison.

    1. People complain about the Wii U having crap 3rd party support, but is it any better than the NES or the SNES, both consoles were a dumping ground for third party companies.

      1. Let’s not forget the shittons of shovelware on Wii and DS which is like a deja vu of 3rd party SNES days.

I rather have controlled 3rd party game support than a free one that’ll grant nothing but mountains of dogshit software like Wii which was another apparent complaint and also a hypocrite one.

  7. I thought this was fake. Thank goodness it’s real but all we need is the US the US! Maybe sales will skyrocket. Hopefully faster than The number of sharks killed each year. This Wii U + MK8 = A BIG HEAVY PACKAGE OF AWESOMESAUCE
