Nintendo and the Pokemon Company have provided the first glimpse of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS. The highly anticipated remakes are launching worldwide in November exclusively on Nintendo’s latest handheld.

I disagree. I agree with that as far as Zelda goes because they are usually pretty much a simple remade port with gimmicky new features. However, Gamefreak usually does remakes right. They not only retain the magic of the originals, but add so much new features (not including the 350+ Pokemon since Ruby and Sapphire) that it really is a new experience.

The remakes of Ocarina of Time & Wind Waker didn’t have gimmicky new features but features that were helpful & improved upon the original gameplay. Link’s Awakening’s remake added color & a new dungeon that made the game easier after beating it. And Link to the Past gave us Four Swords which many people loved. So those remakes were far from being simple remakes with “gimmicky” new features.

I can’t say much on the gyroscope since I didn’t use it much. As for the touchscreen for OoT3D & WWHD, you’re seriously an idiot if you think it was a gimmick. It made the game easier when you had to switch out certain items a lot. And the Tingle Bottles for Wind Waker HD were used A LOT by A LOT of people so not a gimmick, either. Anyway, none of this matters since you’re mostly a bloody troll on here hating Nintendo. Now go find your fellow trolls sasori & aeolus, bug.

Agreed. I’d rather Nintendo continue to work on franchises they already have than create entirely new ones. I mean, I don’t mind a new IP from Nintendo every now & then as long as they aren’t sacrificing another franchise people love for it.
In my own defense, the art style and overall visuals of W101 are my least favorite in any video game. Platinum literally went with the exact opposite of what I would have wanted.
Most of the people “screaming for a new IP” want something that looks at least somewhat realistic and is at least somewhat mature, because Nintendo is known as the “kiddy” one of the Big Three. I’m not saying they’re kiddy, but they’re a family company with a cartoon character as their mascot and are known for their family-friendly games. When people ask for a new IP, they don’t want weekend superheroes (not dissing W101).
Well unfortunately for them, I think Metroid is as realistic as they are going to get with an IP. With any luck, they are actually working on a new Eternal Darkness, though. That should shut a lot of people up for a mature & realistic game. W101 didn’t interest me a lot, either, to be honest. It looked too much like Pikmin with superheroes instead of alien plant-like ants to me.
By Nintendo, you know you’re speaking of Gamefreak right? Also, they are part of the Pokemon Company. They make Pokemon. That’s what they do, because it is a hugely popular franchise. Your comment is what’s sad.

I don’t know how much nostalgia has blinded you but loads upon loads of people jumped off the pokemon bandwagon as a result of ruby and sapphire. The franchise as a whole went through a major slump during gen 3 in part because of the original versions of these games
All of the good reviews, Metacritic & GameRankings high aggregate scores, & very good sales would disagree. Oh & Pokemon’s popularity was waning before Ruby & Sapphire because of Yu-Gi-Oh!’s rising popularity. So maybe it’s not nostalgia blinding him but anger blinding you? Just a thought.
10 million sales less than the games that came before it is not very good. the games suffered from far too many water routes and an unpopular generation of pokemon due to ken sugimori’s change in art style which turned lots of players off. these games are widely considered to be the worst in the series and yugioh was just one of a dozen reasons why pokemon went through the 3rd gen slump
The Wind Waker once had a similar problem but most people speak fondly of it these days, just like they clearly do Ruby & Sapphire since a lot of people are hyped for these remakes.
These games deserve lots of hype because there’s a vast amount of potential to correct the errors that plagued the originals and add new content as well. Plus secret bases were just about the coolest things ever.

Oh. Well a second for them then. Took GameFreak long enough to finally release the main Pokemon games in other countries without waiting months to nearly a year between it’s Japanese release & other countries’ release.
You realise the reason it usually takes months is because they have to localise it from Japanese into several other languages right? That doesn’t happen overnight.
I know but Nintendo doesn’t take nearly as long as GameFreak tends to take.
Fire Emblem Awakening took a year to localize. Same hoes for Animal Crossing and Tomodachi Life, and Kirby Triple Deluxe too, if I’m not mistaken.
For Fire Emblem Awakening & Tomodachi Life, I can understand the long wait time because they weren’t sure if the games would even sell well outside of Japan. Kirby: Triple Deluxe was released in Japan on Jan 11, 2014, in North America on May 2nd, 2014, & in Europe on May 16, 2014. As for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, meh. Don’t care for that game much to really defend it.

In my opinion the new ruby and sapphire will have the same graphics and a similar gameplay of XY, for me it was made in the same engine of X and Y, it was made in parallel of X and Y.. Sorry to say a lot fo X and Y :P
X&Y are still decent looking but most of all enjoyable in the end. Hopefully R/S remake will tweak the engine like framerates, visual styles/pixels and such plus improving the 3D by making it avaliable in ALL parts of the game and not just cutscenes and single battle scene which drops framerates.

I love all the people bitching about not getting something they weren’t even promised. Nobody promised us any gameplay footage, they promised us a glimpse at the game. They never said how long the glimpse would be or what it would be. Don’t blame them just because you all had selective reading. Plus this is marketing, they give us just enough to tease us so that we want more.

No, I’m not wrong. I watched the braodcast live and yes I was disappointed but that was because I personally formed an expectation that was higher than what we got. After that I went back to Serebii and re-read what was promised and realised that it was my own fault for expecting something that wasn’t promised.
