XSEED Bringing Harvest Moon Story Of Seasons To North America This Year

CTR_guide_TS-W_130306

IGN has confirmed that XSEED will be bringing Harvest Moon style game Story of Seasons to North America. The game launched on the Nintendo 3DS earlier this year in Japan and was well-recieved in the Japanese charts. Hopefully the newest entry in the Harvest Moon series will also arrive in Europe at some point.

“Those who play Story of Seasons can “create fully customizable character[s], selecting gender, hair style and facial features as desired. They will then take on their role as the newest resident of Oak Tree Town, a small settlement filled with promises of new beginnings, hard work and significant relationships. In the process of tending to crops, animals and the many other aspects of everyday farming life, players will amass the resources necessary to customize and expand their farms — from livestock and seeds to décor and layout — granting total freedom to shape their homestead as they wish and fit virtually any play style.”

  2. This also means the series will no longer be called Harvest Moon since Natsume owns the rights to the name.

  3. I love Harvest Moon! The series doesnt differ much from one series to the other, but they do get better after every one.

  4. A New Beginning was the best Harvest Moon game I’ve played since GameCube. There were a few good DS ones, but the 3DS versions are fantastic. The customization really adds to the game a lot. I’m curious as to why XSEED is doing it instead of Natsume. That’s a first for Havest Moon games if I’m not mistaken. While I do appreciate Natsume, they do a pretty poor job at translations. I remember one game my cows were “prengate”.

Hm. I’ll have to keep a look out for this. Although, I’d more prefer a console Harvest Moon. @.@ Man, I need to finish Animal Parade on the Wii. Problem is I don’t really remember what I was doing last time I played it. Hell! I can’t even remember if I still have it.

And on the subject of collaborations, I’d kill for a Harvest Moon game set on an island near Hyrule where you play as Link or Zelda tending to a farm. If you go with Link, the game should have Princess Zelda as one of the people on the island you can marry as she’s visiting a friend that lives on the island. If you choose Princess Zelda, Link will be one of the guys she can marry as he already lives on the island as a resident.

  9. saying it will come put this winter is too general. I already like the video promo and I love HM:ANB and rune factory but the multiplayer mode of ANB is lacking in that you can’t communicate or visit the other players farms or towns. this Story of Seasons looks like it will be more internet capable so to fix that problem, hopefully. but I want to know WHEEEEEEEEENN when can I get it??? I’m already salivating for it, this game looks awesome!!!! wait they mention its release being at the same time as lost valley don’t they? and lost valley comes out this next week…. YAY!!!
