Wii Sports Club For Wii U Coming To North American Retail Stores On July 25th

Fore! Love! Strike! Home run! TKO! All five of these phrases are going to echo through the homes of Wii U owners everywhere when the five-sports-in-one packaged version of Wii Sports Club hits stores on July 25 at a suggested retail price of $39.99. With Wii Sports Club, the millions of people who fell in love with Wii Sports can now hop off their couches and get active with new versions of the five original classic sports – Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Baseball and Boxing – enhanced with online multiplayer and optimized for play with the Wii U GamePad controller.

Wii Sports Club feels like a new experience, with the addition of crisp high-definition graphics and Wii MotionPlus technology, as well as creative uses of the Wii U GamePad. For example, in Wii Sports Club – Baseball, the pitcher aims a fastball, change-up or curveball by moving the GamePad around in real space and pressing a button to throw. If the ball gets hit in the air, the player holds the GamePad to track and catch the fly ball – just like they would with a baseball glove! In Wii Sports Club – Golf, players place the GamePad on the floor. The ball will appear on the GamePad controller’s screen and then “fly” to the TV screen when players take their golf swing using the Wii Remote Plus controller.

Using the game’s new online multiplayer mode, players no longer have to wait for a reunion or holiday gathering to play with friends and family members who live far away. Gamers from all over the country who own the game and have a broadband Internet connection can play Wii Sports Club together. Players also can join a club to represent their regions and build online communities with fellow club members by sending tips, pep talks and other messages via Miiverse.

There are so many new features in Wii Sports Club that players will feel like they are playing the game for the first time. The added GamePad features elicit the same “You have to try this!” reactions generated after playing the original Wii Sports.

Digital versions of all five Wii Sports Club games will also be available in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U starting at 6 p.m. PT on June 26.

Thanks, WiiUMasterRace

  1. I’ve already purchased 3 out of 4 @$10 a piece. I’m being screwed again for being an early adopter. Don’t know why I was “collecting” these as they were released instead of waiting for the inevitable discount Nintendo gives later. For things like this. I’m just a slow learner.

    1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

      Called learning…

      *wink*

Even if I had the money to buy a Wii U, I wouldn’t buy it at launch because they always make better deals after a while…

    2. If it makes you feel any better, I also bought 2 sports digitally. XD I should have waited for this. I still want to get it, but then what would I do with the digital ones? I’m not just going to delete them. I really hate when Nintendo does this. They say they are considering making it physical and then shortly after, they do. They should really stop joking around like that and just give a solid answer. *sigh* :|

      1. And I just realized that is only $40 compared to the $50 you would have spent on the eshop. So that means I could either download the other 3 sports for $30 or for $10 more the physical version. Just like with NSLU. I’m obviously going to go with physical since it’s just $10 more, but Idk what you’re gonna do. Good luck, man. XD

    3. You also got to play them for a longer period of time. When you are an early adopter, you pay a premium. That’s always been the case. If you wait, prices drop.

  2. For $40, this should really have HD and online-capable Wii Sports Resort games on here as well. I grabbed bowling when it was re-released, played it a lot for a few nights, and then remembered I more or less played the hell out of it 7 years ago.

    1. IDK but I really just prefer Wii Sports games. Resort had alot more content, but I only really liked a few of them. Like Swordplay Showdown and Skydiving.

  3. yack….
i would not pay 1 cent for these games.
    boring crap.
i played the wii version fore one houer.
okay bowling was not bad… bad its not realy a game. it was in the bundle…

  4. In fact, $40 is no cheaper than the digital because you can buy boxing and baseball together for $10. What a lie.
