Shin’en Says Fast Racing Neo Still On-Track, But Won’t Give A Release Date

We haven’t really heard much about Fast Racing Neo lately, but developer Shin’en says that development on the Wii U title is still on track. A few people noticed that Shin’en had removed the 2014 release date from their website which led to some speculating that the game had been pushed back to 2015. Shin’en simply says that their internal schedule is on track.

“We don’t have a release date yet for the game, therefore we removed the date from the website…our internal schedule is on track.”

        1. Sony Commander Kratos

Yes youre right but fast racing from the wii doesnt compare to Wipe Out which we all know the devs are just going to update the graphics……wipeout has combat that surpases even mario kart and f zero

            1. Sony Commander Kratos

You know what those texures from knack look way better than anything the wii u is capable of our surperior hardware allows us to enjoy it that way

              1. Not really, look at Mario Kart 8 kiddo ;)

Also, people say the graphics in Knack aren’t next gen enough but MK8 is next gen in graphics and gameplay. And as a PlayStation fan myself, I agree.

Knack was okay but wasn’t great.

          1. Not really, if you ask so many people, most of the time they’d go for F-Zero because it was basically one that birthed the Zero G Racing Game Franchise.

Wipeout got boring pretty quickly and is a lot more slower paced than F-Zero or hell, even Mario Kart 8 in 50cc is faster.

              1. Same with Wipeout on ALL tracks unless you use the speed boosts ;) Face it kiddo, your by far the worst troll on here you can’t even make comebacks.

  1. You’ve heard of Neo Assault Nano haven’t you? Well this is something else they’re doing. They have said that their pushing the visuals to the standard of 4K. It will probably be amazing.

  2. This guys really push the visual capabilities of the hardware. Just look at the 3DS version of Nano Assault, or Jett Rocket 2. I really want to see some screenshots of this new Fast Racing Neo game.

  3. I played the demo of the previous one and the controls were way too slippery for me. I hope they get that right in this one.

  4. Watched a video from butterworthy where he brought up an interesting theory: what if nintendo bought shinen and converted this game into the next f-zero game?

    Now there’s a thought!

    Check out the video below:

  5. I don’t need a release date, just some screenshots or a gameplay video would do for now.

Damn Art of Balance getting in the way.

  6. -Nintendo: Ey, I saw your Fast Racing Neo…You are good at fast racing games. Could you rename this sequel “Fzero Neo”?
    -Shin En: OMG. of course!!!

They are changing all the stuff to make this game look like an f zero game.

      1. Here are my predictions.

        For Wii U:
        – Zelda U reveal trailer, no release date or timeframe yet, just 2015
        – Miyamoto announced new IP with trailer, 2015
        – Yoshi’s Yarn trailer with anticipated release in Q1 of 2015
        – FE X SMT trailer with anticipated release in Q2 of 2015
        – X – full name revealed, release date (October 2014)
        – Starfox U or F-Zero U – teaser, 2016
        – Smash Bros – 4 character reveals (2 veterans, 2 new), release date (December 2014)
        – Mario Kart 8 DLC
        – Bayonetta 2 – release date (September 2014)
        – Pokken Fighters – trailer, 2015

        For 3DS:
        – Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (more info on mega evolutions, new additions to the Hoenn region)
        – The Pikachu Detective Game – trailer, anticipated release in Q4 of 2015
        – Castlevania Symphony of the Night II – trailer, 2016
        – 2D Metroid (sequel to Fusion) – trailer, anticipated release in Q3 of 2015

        1. Castlevania 2016? If that was true why the hell would they even announce it? I’m sure if there is a Castlevania game it will be out late this year or early next year.

          1. That’s just my prediction. FE X SMT was shown as a teaser at E3 2013 but it’s release could possibly be sometime in 2015. For Castelvania, I’m thinking late 2015/early 2016. We’ve heard no news of it, so I’m guessing it’s still in its early stages of development if it is indeed being developed.

      2. Whoops! Forgot about Hyrule Warriors and Sonic Boom!

Sonic Boom – more info and official release date
Hyrule Warriors – more info and official release date
Animal Crossing U – There’s a possibility. I predict that there will be a teaser with the release year being 2016.

        1. I think you’ve got that list more or less right giygas. Nicely done. Although I think some games will be out earlier. Like for example: Yarn Yoshi. I reckon that will be out some time this year.

          1. I guess if Bayo2 comes out in September, X comes out in October, and SSB comes out in December, then maybe November would be a plausible month for Yarn Yoshi to be released.

The thing is, we really haven’t heard much on the progress on the game which leads me to believe that it still has a long way to go, hence my prediction of the game to be released early 2015.

  7. The new fire emblem game MK8 DLC characters Yoshi Yarn The X game bayonetta 2 release date pokemon omega version and alpha version gameplay X/Y style engine. The new rumor pokemon fighting game for Wii U

  8. Sickr here’s this news u missed Wii Sports Club is coming to the United States in the form of a retail package on July 25, at a suggested retail price of $39.99. The package includes Tennis, Bowling, Golf, Baseball, and Boxing. For fans of the original Wii Sports, this is the perfect introduction to the Wii U.
For those who would rather purchase the digital version of these games, you’ll be able to do so on June 26 starting at 6pm PST. The European version is getting free trials reset for the new games that are available, so it’s likely North America will see the same thing. Pricing for each individual sport remains at $1.99 for a 24 hours pass, or $9.99 for the full sport.

      1. OMG YAAAAAAS!!! I don’t think sega will be able to do it right anymore so these guys would be great

      2. Even though F-Zero GX was fantastic, if Fast Racing Neo turns out great, I would be glad to see them partner up with Nintendo to make a new F-Zero game for the Wii U.

          1. Personally I would prefer if Sega teamed up with Nintendo to do another F-Zero because GX was fantastic and was and still is, beautiful.

The thing is, Shinen does not have as much manpower as Sega, because they are an Indie developer. I think if Sega teamed up on the next F-Zero, they would develop an F-Zero with more content and enhanced gameplay because they already had the experience of developing an F-Zero game already.

For some people, a remake of GX would be perfect with just just a few graphical tweaks and online. Imagine what they could do with a brand new F-Zero from the ground up. Plus, Sega has thousands of employees to work on the game compared to Shinen’s few, allowing the game to have the same or even better quality while making the work and timeframe smaller.

Also since Mario Kart 8 now has Anti-grav, one of F-Zero’s main gameplay mechanics, I think F-Zero has to have some new components in order for it to differentiate from Mario Kart. This guy from WiiUDaily posted an article stating his thoughts on what he wants Nintendo to do with the next F-Zero and I agree for the most part. Here’s what he said:

“Alright, so let’s assume Nintendo is dead set on an F-Zero game. No way around it, no excuses, no ifs, ands, or buts, F-Zero is coming to the Wii U. I at least have a few suggestions that I think would make it appeal to a bigger audience, as well as myself.
First, get everyone out of the cars. Have any of you played F-Zero 64? (Or whatever it was called.) They had like, 30 or so characters. That roster puts the Mario Kart one to shame. (Do we really need more babies or all of the koopalings?) Each one of those characters had some pretty cool designs, but you never really got to see them.
I say that the game should be more open world, and allow players to explore awesome space age cities. Almost like a futuristic GTA, if you will. There’d still be races and whatnot, but they’d work into this overworld that you can go out and explore.
And combat! For the love of God, combat! Captain Falcon is most known for his falcon punch, yet I’m fairly sure it’s never been used in an F-Zero game. This series has potential to be an amazing open world racing brawler. Combine the old Spiderman games with classic F-Zero gameplay and that’s basically the idea floating around in my head (No web-slinging, though).
I don’t know. It sounds cool to me, at least. What do you guys think? Let me know below!”

            1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

I like that idea from the guy at Wii U Daily. Unfortunately, the last time Nintendo tried to take a franchise known for something & making a new game in the series take a different gameplay style, fans of the series complained about it. *cough*StarFoxAdventures*cough*

              1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Which is a shame because Adventures was is one of my favorite Star Fox games along with Star Fox 64.

              2. I think it was because Nintendo showed an early trailer of Starfox looking like a sequel to Starfox 64, but it turned out to be an adventure type game, which was not even a Starfox game to begin with.

However in my opinion, Adventures was one of the best games on the GCN(up there with SMS, LM, MP, TTYD). The story was great and the gameplay was great. The different areas were unique and each had a certain likability about them. However, I think they should’ve put more focus on the arwing and let Fox have the blaster! I know there were some arwing missions in between worlds, but it imo, it wasn’t enough. I do have to say though, the final battle with Andross was very fun. Also, that T-Rex boss used to scare the crap outta me as a kid, haha.

                1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Looking back on the game, I think it should have had Fox be the one sealed up & Krystal had to be the one to save him. This would have made the game more of a spin off of Star Fox & thus it wouldn’t have been disliked by the hardcore Star Fox fans. But yeah. If Star Fox Adventures had the flight parts balanced with the adventuring, I think it would have been better received. The idea that the guy from Wii U Daily has would give the game a balance of brawling & racing, so the hardcore F-Zero fans might be more inclined to like the game compared to the Star Fox’s hardcore fans with Star Fox Adventures.

  9. shit… was hoping Nintendo hired them to work on the next F-Zero with them

anyway… really looking forward to fast racing neo

  10. That was stupid in the first place to even bring up the damn game and brag about 4K. Should have brought it up when the idiot was sure it was made. That was stupid.

  11. its just gonna be another short indie game. they were bragging about graphics. well we will see some sharp textures. but we wont see anything that looks next gen from technical point of view, like for example – order 1886.

  12. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Good. I don’t want a release date. I’m less inclined to get tired of waiting for it if I don’t know when it’s coming. I’d rather hear of a release date a month or 2 before it’s release, not 6 months to a year.
