Bandai Namco’s chief mascot has joined the Super Smash Bros. roster. Pac-Man is featured as a playable character in the upcoming fighting title for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The yellow gaming icon’s abilities include throwing fruit and eating power pellets. The next Super Smash Bros. launches October 3rd on 3DS and in the holiday season on Wii U.

He was made for the purpose to rival Sonic and Mario and was quite popular in the PS1 days. He still has quite a fanbase. Now that he’s been bought out and has been on a Nintendo console, I think it’s time to make a comeback and what better place than Smash? The trio of rivals all in one place. Lol. It’s funny how two characters (Mii and Pac-man) got in despite the fact that everyone on Miiverse was strongly against the idea of having them as fighters. Mainly because people said they’d be bland. But wow were they wrong. Mii looks freaking incredible and I’ll definitely be using mine. I never cared for either Pac-man or Mii, but I stand corrected when I thought they’d be stupid characters.
I hope to God they didn’t screw this game up like did MK8 I still think the original MK is better than the MK8 so far. Dear God I hope they didn’t do the same with SSB. Both my copies are already paid for in advance and I am waiting for them both to come out !!
What did they screw up in Mario Kart 8? I think it’s great. Although, I’ve only played Mario Kart 7 before I played 8, so I may not notice that many things compared to what you might have.
only thing wrong with MK8 is the battle mode, you probably didn’t play wii and 7, I’ve realized 8 is not newbie friendly at all, so you’ll know nothing how to control the characters if you skipped those games.
I have Mario Kart 7. I just never go to the battle mode. I like the races a lot more. Even when I first started playing MK8, it took time to adapt to the Gamepad after playing with the 3DS, but for me, it only took a short time since I played 7. But I know what you mean. MK8 can be brutal at times if you’re new.
The Gamepad isn’t any differently from a regular controller. The thing they added is a giant screen in the middle and the ZR and ZL buttons.

IDK WTF is up with people complaining about this shit? Everyone should have realized the day they found out that Namco is helping out Smash Bros. development that this day of Pac-Man’s reveal in Smash Bros. 4 is imminent. Even I saw this coming way longer than a year ago and even hoped for Pac-Man to make appearance since it all makes sense.
And what’s the problem with Pac-Man being a fighter when you people probably have played the Pac-Man World trilogy before, you know, where he can force bounce, roll attack, punch and kick along with power ups from the 3rd game.
This is actually history in the making. 4 iconic retro gaming legends (Mario, Megaman, Sonic and Pac-Man) do battle in one anticipated game. Who would hate and not want that besides idiots and trolls? Seriously?
Ya should be excited and appreciated that Namxo is pitching in to help make this game happen and happily include their mascot. I know Ghostly Adventures left a bad taste in Pac-Man fans mouths including myself but there is a retro/World style Pac-Man instead of just that lame ass remake of himself.
No matter what, I see this as a positive reception for the game and a legendary moment in gaming history to see all of my childhood gaming heroes in one title proving who’s the king of retro gaming. :)

There will always be complainers (there are some who do it for a living) but I’m just trying to think realistically as far s Ridley’s size goes. Bowser was big but shrunk, but Ridley is a flying Dragon-like character who’s move set would be too hard to make and too hard to scale. Wish all you like and correct me if I’m wrong, we’ll see in the end.

Aside from the far too short Zelda trailer, Mario Party 10 and those cool figures, this was my favorite moment of E3. I wanted Mega Man and Pac-Man, and got both of my wishes. I’m also happy about Mii’s being playable. That was something I wanted in Brawl, but was left disappointed. This is shaping up to be the best Smash Bros. game ever! Just hope there isn’t anything that causes it to suck.
I hope Nintendo fixes the way that trophies can be viewed. In Melee, you could fully rotate and zoom-in on every trophy. In Brawl, they screwed it up a bit.
Mario, Link, Mega Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. Long-time titans of the gaming industry, and they can all duel it out in this one game. That is awesome.
