Yacht Club Games have uploaded the release trailer for their long-awaited title, Shovel Knight. The retro themed 2D platformer is due for release on Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Steam, on Thursday, June 26th. The game’s director says the game draws influence from NES games and more recent titles such as Dark Souls.

dude Shovel Knight for Smash Bros.! but seriously i am liking the classic side-scrolling platformer feeling of this game with a weaponry twist.
Great another 2d platformer we have seen before that does nothing to take advantage of the systems it is on.
But if every game that came to the Wii U took advantage of the Gamepad, we’d have people bitching & moaning about how they are forced to use the controller for every game on the system, not being allowed to use other controller options.

Looks like Zelda 2 meets Castlevania meets Megaman 2. Not sure what it is aboit this game but im just not interested. Im sure it will be a great game though.
